Not Quite Normal
It came as a sudden wave of relief at first. Temperature not so feverish. Sounds and smells not being too much. Wolf instincts fleeting to be replaced with a human uncertainty of what was going on. He shouldn’t be human. What about the safety of the baby? A human male’s body shouldn’t be able to take care of such a thing and then - oh. Brook wasn’t just human. He was also a she now.  Still worried and deeply confused, she cried out for her partner. “J-John?” Oh god, please be home and not out at the store or something. She was currently stuck in bed, pretty much full term already. She tried to keep calm and breathe normally but her heart was running a mile a minute n worry. What if something went wrong with this new body?
"You too?" John called back while heading out of the kitchen with the mugs of tea he'd been making before he'd of been heading to Brook's room. Pretty calm about the weird situation. Like usual.
No doubt. You’ve got a living thing in you moving around. If it weren’t normal it’d be Aliens in real life. [He nosed back into Brook’s ear with a kiss.] It’s a good sigh though. If they’re not too active.
[He snorted lightly about the alien thing and returned the kiss while sighing contently.] Just started today so I think it’s a good sign. Back’s been hurting, though. But that’s expected, I guess.
I'll make an appointment with someone in the next few days. At the very least the baby is probably going to start pushing organs around and it'll be good to keep track of that. [He moved his thumbs in little circles over the spots of movement gently. It was a curious feeling.]
[A little bit on the side of confused for all of a few seconds before he pressed his other hand to the same area. Getting this really doofus happy grin. He stepped closer and set his chin on Brook’s shoulder.]
[Brook smiled back, keeping his hands on top of John’s while nosing into his cheek.] It feels…really weird, but I figured you’d like to know our baby is saying hello.

callmebrook replied to your post: Um, John? Can I show you something…?
[Cleared his throat.] Er, well, it’s sort of a surprise so you’ll have to close your eyes for a moment.
[John’s brows went up a bit, but Brook had yet to pull a trick or anything. So he closed his eyes and waited.]
[Okay, good. He could do this. Taking in a small breath, he reached for John’s hand to  take gently and lead over to his much rounder stomach to touch. Because Brook knew he’d feel it soon enough and - oh! There it was again.]

Never a day I won't let you, Brookie.
retiredwardog started following you
Jaaaaaawn. Whats up.
Not a god awful lot, yet. Not that I'm complaining, mind. Particularly with the influx of hunters lately. You?
Figuring he had to stay home tomorrow night, he went for his 'run' today. Heading out after work into the local free-run forest. Taking a stretch in wolf form. Chasing a few rabbits and deer. Catching one deer to eat with two other wolves he met up with doing the same thing he was. He go this socialization in for another month too. Took a nap in a pile of others. Then headed on home as a man.
Had to keep a hat on for the ears and keep his tail in his pants. But most of the way home was ride by taxi, so he didn't worry.
“Right, right! John Watson!” He took John’s hand in a firm grip, shaking it.
“Medical doctor, right…? I think I remember you better now! What’s a medical doctor need with a werewolf OB/GYN, if you don’t mind my asking?”
John smiled warmly as ever while returning the firm grip. "Doctor, yes." He nodded his head that he was on the mark.
"Heh." He chuckled once in the back of his throat before clearing it. Rubbing at his own forehead a little while trying to think how to word it. "My, erm, partner," That'd be the way to word it? Right? Wow had he been skittering about the gay thing a lot. Hadn't sat down to think of all the terms and labels and dearlordwhatwashesupposedtocallBrook other than boyfrend? And that seemed sort of light at this point-- "has gotten pregnant. Circumstances predict a rocky pregnancy at that. Add on I'm a more of an emergency surgeon? I am, gently put, far out of my medical comfort zone."
Most he could do is deal with the aftermath. No matter how much he knew out of a textbook. He cured sniffles and brought dying soldiers back to health. Not ensure babies made it to term. Or parents didn't die.
Throw 'werewolf' anatomy in there and he was about as useful as vet treating people. Fifty-fifty. Brook was gambling his life more than enough already.
He'd rather find someone who knew what they were doing.
[Brook chuckled and nuzzled under John’s chin and thought some more on names.]
Hmm…maybe. William isn’t a bad name either.
Hardly bad at all. [He agreed to William too. Humming warmly under the nuzzle.]
Sheryl and William.
Any names in mind?
[John hugged Brook in a little closer and squeezed the whole man warmly. Brook wouldn’t die. He didn’t need to worry. But he was going to.]
[Brook rested his head on John’s chest and pondered thoughtfully.]
Maybe something like…Sheryl for a girl. Any suggestions for a boy?
[He could agree with that. Understanding what Brook was doing by giving that suggestion. He kissed Brook's forehead while thinking.]
Harry? Or we could do the typical name for first boys and name him John or Johnny.
[Little hard to ignore that looming danger, wasn’t it? Ever since they found out. His own ears went back slowly and he leaned to nose into Brook’s cheek.]
Of course. Haven’t wanted anything more in my whole life.
[Sherlock not being dead came second place for once. Maybe third. He’d rather not lose Brook either.]
[That helped him relax a bit more. And while he hoped nothing bad would happen, he couldn’t pretend that it wasn’t a possibility that the birth could be dangerous. Brook smiled pressed in closer to John, arms more wrapped around him.] Good. Me too.Â
Any names in mind?
[John hugged Brook in a little closer and squeezed the whole man warmly. Brook wouldn't die. He didn't need to worry. But he was going to.]
A girl?
[Ohgosh he hadn’t thought about it. He laid back with Brook and let the man lay on his side next him.]
I wouldn’t know what to do with a girl or a boy.
I’m sure you’ll be a great father either way. [Brook smiled with a small laugh and traced fingers gently over John’s chest while resting with him. He became serious before long and curled his fingers.] If something happens to me…you’ll do your best to take care of the child, right?

[Sherlock not being dead came second place for once. Maybe third. He'd rather not lose Brook either.]
[He busted into a bit of a chuckle when Brook squeaked of all things. He turned his head enough to get a full kiss. Smiling warmly.]
I’m certain.
[Brook smiled against the kiss and rested his forehead against John’s with a pleasant hum. He was excited at the thought of getting an ultra sound eventually.] Do you think it will be a boy or a girl?
A girl?
[Ohgosh he hadn't thought about it. He laid back with Brook and let the man lay on his side next him.]
I wouldn't know what to do with a girl or a boy.
I would think someone out there does. On simple probability.
[He nibbled back with a warm noise. Squeezing because, lets face it, John can’t help himself.]
[Brook hmmed in agreement and squeaked a little at the squeeze. Retaliating with another little bite before lifting his head to press a soft kiss near John’s lips.] I’m sure we’ll find someone.Â
[He busted into a bit of a chuckle when Brook squeaked of all things. He turned his head enough to get a full kiss. Smiling warmly.]
I'm certain.
So far.
[He agreed. Rubs gradually working circles from shoulder blades down to tail base. Nosing into Brook’s shoulder.]
I am trying to find you an OB.
…think there are any that work with werewolves? [Brook nuzzled more into John’s neck and nipped a bit when the fingers rubbed down to the tail base. Easy enough to get the tail going lazily.]
I would think someone out there does. On simple probability.
