James was liking stuff about a spinoff, the theories video was "made by hameln" for the fans(in universe arg like post) and seems to take place after Riley went to rescue Rebecca. So he's still "alive" in a way, and hameln is still in operation.

There was also something about thinknoodles but i for the life of me cannot find where one person on reddit/tiktok found discussion of a spinoff by thinknoodles. But the game seems to suggest this by the news segment itself.

We're likely going to get something where Rebecca and Riley work together to stop hameln completely. If Wooly can be the puppet- he's likely the shepherd completely (like move from vessel to vessel.) I don't think the shepherd is dead. Badly beaten? Yeah, but if hameln used some craft or so on to create the shepherd, they can make him get back up again, or has to be killed in a certain way. Because that thing isn't the same as the anomaly.

i REALLY hope they actually go through with the spinoff thing because yes they have been like. hinting... 👀 for a little while now and this ama just feels too well timed to not have anything behind it. soft launching the mangledmaw instagram account is whats selling it for me tbh
