Robert Kennedy campaigns in Indiana, May 1968
In the bottom photo, you can see former football star Rosey Grier to Kennedy’s right. After leaving professional sports, Grier worked as a bodyguard for the Kennedy family through the 1968 campaign, including the night of Kennedy’s assassination on June 5, 1968.
In this video for PBS, Grier talks about disarming Sirhan Sirhan and trying to fend off an angry crowd that wanted to exact immediate revenge:
"I was not going to allow them to commit a murder on this man, so I protected him … I didn’t want to demonstrate a way to handle a situation like this was to get even, though he had hurt a friend that we all loved. And the damage that was done after we found out that it was fatal - it made a big impact on our nation, on our world, on that family. To take away that man out of that family was a terrible thing. But, yet, we had an opportunity to say ‘We do our thing in a different way. We don’t pick some weapon and shoot people that we disagree with.’"

Film Meme: Five Actresses (2/5) → Grace Kelly
"You know, I just love Grace Kelly. Not because she was a princess, not because she was an actress, not because she was my friend, but because she was just about the nicest lady I ever met. Grace brought into my life as she brought into yours, a soft, warm light every time I saw her, and every time I saw her was a holiday of its own. No question, I’ll miss her, we’ll all miss her, God bless you, Princess Grace." - James Stewart
