I draw a ton of sci-fi art and dark fantasy. I'm obsessed in a life long way with Mobile Suit Gundam (0079) & Star Wars. All characters are 18+ when I depict them and I explore a lot of queer/dark themes/AUs. DNI if a minor, I do not tolerate or want to speak to TERFs/Radfems/Antis/Gender Essentialists/Sexwork Haters.

Hello, I found your Twitter a couple weeks ago and read a lot of what you had to say about the history of doujinshi and the people creating it, and I have to say I'm really impressed. I really hope to achieve your level of knowledge in the future because I also have a passion for learning about that kind of stuff.

Through you I've been learning about Adonis, but I do have a question: why weren't there any BL artists involved? Because I know you said it was one of the first genuine queer magazines with queer men talking about their lives as queer men, and there were even notable contributors like Yukio Mishima.

In regards to Adonis, I would personally call this coterie magazine a MLM work by men and for men. Many of the contributors throughout its creation were closeted and sent in works anonymously or under blatant pseudonyms. It wasn't a space for women as we would think today and in a JP sense, BL works were not that popular or readily invested into by this particular readership.

I mainly mentioned Adonis as an imprint as it shows the existence of a queer ala gay coterie magazine pre-Comiket that held the opinions, dreams and anguish of the queer and gay men who participated in it. Barazoku however had instances of fujoshi participation, but the core content was for gay men by gay men.
