Me, five minutes into any conversation:

brief marcus timeline//

- marcus was born in LA, and grew up there for seven years with his older brother and parents.

- at 7, his parents split up due to arguments and disagreements, mostly his father's involvement with petty crimes.

- marcus then moved to oakland with his mother, while his brother remained with his father in LA. he has had no contact with either of them since he moved.

- at 14, he gained an interest in computers and electronics. he started to teach himself how they work and how to code, which eventually leads to building computers and hacking as he got older.

- at 22, a high tech robbery occours and ctOS can't get a match for the suspect's faces, only skin colour and body type. this leads to the system wrongly picking out marcus as a suspect.

- marcus cooperates with police investigations as much as possiable, only to try prove his innocence. however, the real suspects are never found. charges are eventually dropped as a few ctOS scans and images with no face or real links is too little evidence. marcus was only given community service as a sentence. the whole ordeal highly affected his life however, as people in the community started to discriminate against him.

- this whole things lasts for a year, and leads marcus into hacking government officials and leaking incriminating documents on HDC data gathering under the alias / screenname 'Retr0'.

- with the rise of ctOS 2.0, marcus starts to hand around Dedsec IRCs ( internet relay chats ) and looks for ctOS weaknesses through Nudle.

- shortly after he turns 24, Dedsec notices marcus and offers him a test- deleting his ctOS 2.0 file from their servers. After doing this and installing a backdoor, he was officially inducted into Dedsec.
