should i review i-robot i kindof liked it lowkey
i dont even know where to begin with color out of space im being so serious right now my positive notes were that it was pretty okay for a cage flick, I mean generally speaking the animation on the creatures and the special effects were fine, they managed to make the animals look grotesque in a freaky enough way to get across that this is in fact a horror film. okay so let me get into the negatives which outweigh the positives heavily this movies acting was lackluster (big shock its a cage film), but I think it was partially the writers faults because the dialogue was insanely bland. it was pretty generic, especially between the main family. the husband and wife exchange the cliche 'i still love you even after your... gulp... surgery' conversation, the two older kids bicker, and the youngest child is fascinated by the entity such as in every other fucking horror movie. i may be biased because I don't like hp lovecraft because he was insanely racist but for something based on his work I expect it to be a bit edgier or scarier, this movie didn't have me on the edge of my seat like you'd want to get from a thriller. the only time I was uncomfortable was when lavinia was cutting herself and that's a personal thing, has nothing to do with horror or the sfx. im too lazy to go into more details but yeah i didnt like this movie 2/5 stars
okay so i saw the amateur the other night saturday at seven pm to be exact i entered the theatre at about six forty and there were only three other people there to be fair i live in a small town but like some of the other movies i've gone to see recently? packed to the fucking brim anyways i was like 'oh im early as shit so like itll probably fill out right?' wrong so more people joined the theatre to make a whopping six total including yours truly
now i have to say a mostly empty theater on a saturday night is not a great sign off the bat but im like hey fuck it whatever again small town so maybe this shit will be okay? fuck no maybe its because im partially deaf but i could not tell what was going on for half of this fuck ass film and like the speakers were LOUD vibrations up my sopping cunt level bass going on here
i take my seat in my usual spot and ads roll cut to the movie beginning with rami malek im hacking into the matrixing and opening some file an anonymous like criminal chick is sending him through some weird encrypted chat room he cant track her location with cia agent shit ensues and he finds out his like supervisor is going on rogue terrorism missions but he doesnt use it against him until his wife dies from a terrorist attack and is like 'yo help me kill the mfs who killed her or i leak ts' like oooookay buddy whatever anyways since they dont like that he has the info and dont want him to leak it they go 'lets just play along with it' and send him off to god damn laurence fishburnes cia assassin training area and fshburne basically tells malek 'you arent a killer' but they do find out hes good at making bombs
malek using his critical thinking skills figures out that hes being set up and fucking dips before the cia raids his room at boot camp and goes completely rogue and basically starts killing the people who were involved in his wifes death whilst forcing information out of them and like using his ultimate hacker skills and eventually seeks out help from the anon chick hes been talking to online she ends up fucking dying to and its like... okay was that really needed but then he dips to the final boss russian dude and tries to kill him gets caught and brought onto a ship
the ending of his movie is so clitshit the russian guy basically offers malek a gun to kill him and malek doesnt do it because hes too morally egregious to do so (despite the fact that he killed like four people prior via bombs), and the guys like 'i knew you werent a killer' and malek goes 'ahahaha but i got you to talk long enough before the marines got heeeereee' and its like the least god damn satisfying ending ever of bringing a terrorist and rogue cia agents to justice the plot point of corruption is also convoluted as fuck cuz malek gets rehired despite the fact that he ALSO went rogue but hey nothings illegal if youre the main character right
i would give this movie like a three and a half out of five, its not bad for a movie thats a remake of a movie based off of a book, but its not GOOD either the writing was not there and the movie could have been the exact same if it was half an hour shorter, shit was so long some dude passed out during the last thirty minutes of it and started SNORING like holy jegus ill give it the cinematic and acting that was all good but the plot was pretty boring and the writing really wasnt all there, i can't consider a movie so boring i stood up to take a shit mid way through peak or anything
⭐️⭐️⭐️💧💧 (3.5)
if you didnt know con air is genuinely probably one of the worst action movies ever created the audio balancing is fucking terrible and the acting isnt great automatically because nic cage is in it plus the writing is so shit fans of the action genre claim it as like a parody movie that being said its an underrated piece of art in the cage film collection its fucking hilarious because you cant take it seriously and maybe me liking this movie isnt totally a bit anymore but listen the movie synopsis tldr is young veteran gets convicted after killing a guy in self defense (arguable as he could have just gotten in his fucking car) goes to jail while his wife is pregnant and gets on a flight full of convicts who un shockingly pull some bs and take over the plane that cusack made to transfer all these cons to a new jail cage pulls some action movie hero bullshit since hes on parole and has a buddy on the plane and then the movie ends happily good story i liked cusack in this movie hes unironically a good actor and did a good job at playing the heros sidekick though it may be hard to judge how his acting because almost anyones acting looks great next to nic cages the one liners in this movie are not funny or creative but at least you get the hit quote "put the bunny back in the box" and a shockingly decent transfemme character??? somehow??? the other cons respect her for the most part but they kill her pretty fucking fast and shes not really plot relevant aside from the jokes shes used for they cut some parts to keep the r rating but none of them were insanely important to the movie aside from the one where cameron talks about how him and baby-o met and why theyre friends. id recommend this movie to nobody aside from people who like to watch bad movies with their friends or by themselves to laugh about it all and all i give this movie a biased five star rating and a serious two and a half star rating, its a bad movie with bad sfx and bad acting. ★★☆☆☆ (2.5) unbiased ★★★★★ (5) biased
