Dr. Luke Boyne, a physician at St. Gertrude's Hospital, was discovered dead in the hospital's waiting room around 6:27 a.m. Dr. Boyne, who was sitting against a wall, was hit five times with a pump-action shotgun and suffered several severe bruises , and the killer is still unknown and nowhere to be found. Following the incident, it was rumored and confirmed that Dr. Boyne was involved in a sex-abuse crime (rape) a week prior. The survivor was identified as the niece of the "Don," the leader of the Mafia, a hierarchically structured society of criminals primarily of Italian or Sicilian descent."

In 2004, the town of Twin Rocks had a depressing and unsettling year because there had been numerous reports of missing children and not a single child had been retrieved for nearly a year, but one morning a report was received and a disturbing and heartbreaking discovery was made. The children were found dead in a water tower north of town that was barely recognizable.
