My greatest hope for this film was that Ryan Reynolds and Jake Gyllenhall would make out. I was let down. My second greatest hope was that "Life" would be entertaining; again I was let down. Most of the film's action relies on information explained awkwardly as the film unfolds. I kept finding myself going, "why is this happening." Action fans will be bored. Drama fans will be underwhelmed. "Alien" fans could go either was, as the "life" in this film is essentially a white starfish/octopus version of the goop from "Prometheus." Go rewatch "Aliens" if you want a space action film, and "Gravity" if you want a space drama. If that's not enough, watch "Interstellar," but don't bother with "Life."
