Confession: This is gonna sound harsh, but I do not fuck with the black men in my major (PoliSci). Maybe it’s just at my school (because I have worked with BM in politics and they have always been nothing but awesome), but every time a black girl says her opinion they always have to make some kind of argumentative comment, but I never see the same treatment to other non-black girls in the class. One time I disagreed with this guy’s (BM) opinion on Trump and he tried to clown me and side-eyed me for the rest of the semester. It’s like they don’t even want you to be smart or think for yourself, but it’s perfectly fine if you’re white or non-black. I know I’m not crazy, because I have worked with non-black guys in this same program and they actually work with me and listen to my opinions and we actually collectively work together. Which is great, but I like working with black people, and it just pisses me off how so many of them look down on BW in the same program as them. I deserve to be here just as much as you.

I think black people who hang out with majority white people, or who have a certain title or status feel like the need tend to be especially harder on black people especially when non- poc's are around.
