A bit late (but hey, it's still 8/8 where I live ;P), but I'm here to wish y'all a very happy Duck day everyone!! <3 Happy 8/8 to everyone's favourite little pannier tank hehe Finally getting back to this lil "series" after missing last month, and, ofc, y'all know I loveee me some Duck, so I couldn't NOT draw him for his day! xD Seems this year, though, he's brought along a little friend! What are you doing up there ya silly Dilly, your Donald's duck, remember? Although, I guess maybe she thought "Duck day" meant her day... oh well! I think Duck can tolerate her for Donald's sake hehe. xD Silliness aside, though a bit rushed, I had fun drawing one of my faves and I hope y'all can enjoy it too! ^^ Now that I'm mostly recovered from Artfight, expect to see me getting back to my usual trainposting shenanigans very soon hehe Enjoy the Duckie everyone! ^^ Happy 8/8 to you all!!

Notes from Duck and Oliver's human:

One day Oliver fell dreadfully ill with a fever and cough. The vet told me to set him up in a comfy bed and to make sure he got plenty of fluids. Strangely enough, when I came back to check on him, Duck was in the bed, too! I feared for Duck's own health, but couldn't help but notice that Ollie looked much happier with Duck by his side...

Notes from Duck's Human:

Duck was a stray I found on the street. He was dreadfully skinny and had this horribly injured paw on his left side...I just couldn't help it, I had to take him in! After a visit to the vet, it was decided his injured paw had to be amputated. It was a lot of money, but it was worth it to make him healthy.

Nowadays, Duck is quite happy and healthy! He gets along well with my other engines Oliver, Donald, and Douglas--especially Oliver! Sometimes it almost seems like Ollie is flirting with him...but maybe I'm just imagining things!

I also couldn't help but notice how much Duck loves his Fancy Feast! Maybe it's because he used to eat scraps on the street, but he goes just crazy for the stuff at mealtimes! I've even seen him steal some from Donnie and Doug's bowls, much to my chagrin. I'll have to keep an eye out on Duck's antics from now on...he's getting quite chubby for a tank engine! (so says the vet)

The Reverend Awdry and Ringo Starr inspect the close-up scale model of Duck built for A Close Shave during the production of series 2 of Thomas the Tank Engine & Friends in 1986. One thing to note about the face on the model is that it was originally built for Thomas' close-up scale model in series 1. Note the shape of the nose. The faces on Duck's gauge 1 model all have a more pointed nose compared to the rounded nose that Thomas has.
