Brimming with warm Lo-Fi beats and stunning lyricism, Leeds based spoken word artist Tonderai The Dogon releases his new album, ‘My Becoming’. Inspired by the true emotions that humans feel from day to day, this record showcases Tonderai’s incredible passion for music and the strength of his words. Saturated with intelligent lyrics and beats that soothe the soul, ‘My Becoming’ is a gorgeous old school hip-hop infused album, reminiscent at times of rap sensation Nas, and lyricism inspired by street-poet Gil Scott-Heron.

From Leeds, West Yorkshire, Tonderai has been making music since 2018, and has been writing poetry for a while now. His sound is a marriage of old school, experimental hip-hop and Lo-fi beats. Also inspired by his African roots, there are elements of his heritage in his poetry and instrumentation – and also how he got his name, based on a tribe in Mali called The Dogon. Already having singles released, Tonderai aims to introduce people to music in a format unique to him.
