I WALK WITH THE HUNGER OF OLD GODS, AND THE RAGE OF RUINED CITIESγ €
He was abandoned as an infant at the gates of a church, left without identity or history. From an early age, he was taught obedience, discipline, and doctrine, with little room for personal thoughts. As he matured, he began to question certain teachings - not openly at first, but enough for others to notice subtle inconsistencies in his behavior and beliefs. In an environment where any deviation was seen as a threat, suspicion quickly turned into accusation. He was formally charged with heresy, despite lacking any real intent to defy the institution that had raised him. His punishment was severe and symbolic. He was subjected to an ordeal involving the forced swallowing of burning coals, a brutal act framed as a test or purification, but in reality intended to break him physically and spiritually. The process should have killed him, and for all appearances, it did. He survived - changed, both physically and mentally. Isolated and transformed, he found acceptance not among humans, but among dark, nocturnal beings who recognized in him a shared nature: something cast out, something shaped by suffering rather than doctrine. Among them, he found purpose and belonging for the first time. He pledged unwavering loyalty to a new master, not out of fear, but out of choice.
