This is a Star Wars big bang event focused on the Clone Wars characters Captain Rex and Obi-Wan Kenobi. Also known as the RexObi ship.

I'm eager to share my piece for this year's @rexobibang with you all! It's made for Ripple on the Water's amazing moody and magical fic Twelve Weeks of Summer. Andmy wonderful fellow artist @robinade also made some fantastic artwork for the fic!!! Please make sure to check them out and shower them with love!❤️

Summary:

The summer before graduation, Rex Vhett opts for a twelve-week position as a lighthouse keeper instead of a summer intensive like his classmates. The fresh air and quiet will be a good opportunity to get away from the choices hanging over his head, if only for the summer, though he won't be going alone. It's probably excessive to bring along a supernatural investigator, but at least it will bring his roommate some peace of mind. While the usual summer lull is starting up early, Obi-Wan Kenobi is perfectly capable of managing his own workload, thank you very much. But if his little brother is really so worried about his college roommate vanishing into the middle of nowhere for three months, it's no trouble to tag along. There are plenty of cold cases to fill up his days, and at least he'll get a break from the weight of knowing stares that start up like clockwork every May. The lighthouse is everything either of them could hope for, a shelter from the storm of life where they finally have a chance to catch their breath. But calm doesn't mean peaceful, stillness isn't safety, and a moment captured in amber preserves only ghosts. Summer can't stay forever, and eventually everyone must make a choice.

Captain Rex has been gathering evidence against his Jedi General for a year: casualty numbers, disobeyed orders, falsified reports. Absent of better options, Obi-Wan assumes command of the 501st in addition to his own unit. He and Rex must lean on their families–and on each other–through what follows.

Summary: Rako Hardeen succeeded in assassinating Obi-Wan Kenobi, then failed to assassinate Chancellor Palpatine. In the chaos of the attempt, Palpatine declares the Jedi traitors and engages Order 66. The only thing Captain Rex manages to salvage into the nightmare of the new Empire is Rako Hardeen himself, and now they are both tangled in the new Emperor’s web.

As schemes and rebellious whispers grow, Obi-Wan finds himself caught, still disguised as his own murderer. Now he is the captive of a lover who literally cannot even conceive of his true identity without succumbing to murderous Orders, and they must struggle forward to find their new normal in a world gone Dark and mad.

Hardeen was being blatant about his obnoxiousness, doing push-ups so that he blocked the clearest path Rex would have to take if he left his chair. There was probably some kind of power move being attempted, since it had been going on awhile, and he’d already done an excessive amount of crunches. If the bounty hunter thought he’d impress, let alone intimidate, any clone with lots of calisthenics, he was an idiot. Also, Rex hadn’t really been paying much attention.

Please enjoy the Jaws theme starting to play louder in the background for a certain Jedi. Consequences are one half of the second ship of this story, after all 😌😌

Now or never. "I believe that one of the Jedi generals has not been conducting themselves accordingly to their rank and responsibilities," Rex informs them, voice and posture carefully modulated and manual-perfect, because it is his brothers and his men that he is here to protect and he will not fail them by presenting himself as anything less. "As a general, or—if you will forgive me for the presumption—as a Jedi." The chambers go quiet, the air inside growing suddenly heavy. General Windu's eyes are just a little bit pinched at the corners when Rex's gaze finds them again. "Can you give us a name, Captain?"

Welcome to (& announcing 😅) RexObi Week 2025!!

We are truly in the throes of summer–unless you are in the Southern Hemisphere and then I think most of us are jealous of you. We yearn for a break from the humidity and the heat of the sun. We plot our next pool break or trip to the sea (or lake!) and are slathering ourselves with sunscreen so we don’t burn to a crisp. But a break from the heat is not too far away! We are not far from the new beginnings of a fresh new season.

The theme for the 2025 RexObi Week is new beginnings!

For those of you not familiar with RexObi Week: we are a laid-back RexObi event with no minimum requirements for any fanwork created for the event–so long as RexObi is the focus of your fanwork, anything goes! For 2025, we have 13 word prompts this year (and no image prompts this year).

Just a quick review of what is and is not allowed, some important dates, and then the prompts:

All fanworks are allowed in the event so long as they are: (1) RexObi-centric; (2) take into account either a word prompt. We have a theme which you can include (or not!) at your own discretion.

All ratings are allowed but all content must be rated.

Everyone has 8 weeks to create their content (starting from July 6th)

The AO3 Collection will be created mid-August and will be announced here.

Posting will begin on August 30th and run until September 6th!
