NAKSHATRA SERIES: OBSERVATION FROM DIFFERENT NAKSHATRAS (SEGUNDO)
(Disclaimer: If you get butthurt on my other observation just blocked me and move away from me. This observations is from the celebrity i've observe and my social circle. Just take this like a grain of salt)
PUNARVASU
The trait that I love about Punarvasu is their resourcefulness. It makes sense because of the Vimshottari Nakshatra of Jupiter. They are also very giving.
(Unevolved) Punarvasu are fake. When they're talking to you, they act like a goody two shoes type of boy/girl, but when you're gone, they talk behind your back. They don't like confrontation (very passive). Also holier than thou (This only applies if you're UNEVOLVED, otherwise don't get butthurt).
Punarvasu are also people-pleasers. They want to have a "goody-two-shoes" reputation. (I can't fully describe it, but if you get it, you get it). A primary example that I'm going to give is Elon Musk (Punarvasu rising). The way he acts and presents himself in public. He just wants to be likable, but clearly, the public hates him.
Punarvasu are smart and they will show you that through their actions (I mean actions, for example, problem-solving activities)
PUSHYA:
The casting stereotype of this nakshatra is a hippy vibe. Just like in animated movies, Matilda (from Angry Birds Movie played by Maya Rudolph (Pushya sun)) and Brooke (from Ice Age: Collision Course played by Jessie J (Pushya moon)).
Pushya isn't as auspicious as it is portrayed in the Vedic astrology community. You will go through some hardships and heartbreaks that will make you easily susceptible to mental health issues. (I have this placement so this comes from my experience).
I observed this from other Pushya natives that they're just plain and simple, not glamorous but classy when it comes to their appearance. Just simplicity and vibes and natural.
I've seen on Twitter Vedic discourse about Tikshna Nakshatra getting all the hate, Ashlesha getting all the hate, not Pushya. I have a Pushya placement on my luminary, and I can tell y'all that's not true.
Examples:
Jennifer Lopez (Pushya sun) gets hated for getting all the benefits of being a celebrity when she's just allegedly stealing (I've also read this through Twitter).
Selena Gomez (Pushya sun) is hated for having this victim mentality complex and being "obsessed with Justin and Hailey."
(DISCLAIMER: This isn't my opinion on these certain celebrities, but I've been reading and seeing them on Twitter)
ASHLESHA
Despite being a Mercury-ruled Vimshottari nakshatra, Ashlesha doesn't speak too much.
I've seen Ashlesha males acting like sigma males, but they're funny. This is the nakshatra that embodies the "tropical Leo archetype," the archetype of funny, center of attention, fashionable, and dramatic.
Ashlesha either love all the attention or hate it. Mostly it's a mixture of the two. That's why the center of attention archetype for Tropical Leo.
Claire Nakti just conducted a survey on YouTube, but the leading people on Instagram (having the most followers) have Ashlesha placements. Selena Gomez (Ashlesha Venus and Mercury - still prominent because it conjuncts the Sun, which is her luminary), Kylie Jenner (Ashlesha Sun), and Cristiano Ronaldo (Ashlesha Moon).
MAGHA
If you have Magha in your big three, you're egoistic as fuck (for me egoistic above on other nakshatra). Napoleon has this Nakshatra on his sun. The new TikTok hype about King Baldwin IV (played by Edward Norton, Magha sun).
It's hard to differentiate Ashlesha and Magha because of the Gandanta point (and other Gandanta nakshatras):
- Both private
- Romantic (because other nakshatra of Leo gets all the credit of being romantic, but not Magha; they're romantic too)
- Both GREAT at their stuff/profession/talent
But to tell them apart is Ashlesha says, "I don't give a fuck," and they do give a fuck (because of the Crab cancer symbolism, it really makes sense why they put up a facade because of the shield) when Magha says nothing and literally doesn't give a fuck. They won't entertain. Yes, they're sensitive, but mostly they really don't give a fuck.
I don't get the hype of "Ketu nakshatras are not on social media. They don't usually use social media" on Vedic Twitter. Magha (Ashwini and Mula too) are active; they just don't interact or have private accounts. Ketu is exalted in the sign of Scorpio (investigating, lurking), and y'all think that they don't use social media? Joking, for real.
I still emphasize that Magha nakshatra individuals have sleeping problems. One of the Magha moon actors (in my home country) opens up about having sleep apnea and having a near-death experience. (Also, the beauty queen Magha sun talks about a near-death experience). It's common for them to experience the "Their soul is leaving the body while sleeping" phenomenon and meditation.
The impact of the death of loved ones for Magha is crucial. It's a sign that something significant will be happening or transforming for better or for worse. The best example that I can give is Megan Thee Stallion (her family).
Moon in Bharani is comforted by carrying valuable burdens, protectors of assets, treasuries, contractual trust, natural resources, reserves
Eye on the Money
- Most Bharani-Chandra (moon) folks are involved in the world of finance, banking, investment, capitalization, values acquisition, storage, containment, anima husbandry, or conservation of the precious resources of nature.
- Not every Bharani-Chandra nativity is able to collect a material treasury, although nearly all feel that they need (Chandra need) to collect and carry a hoard.
- Under certain Jyotisha circumstances, a Bharani-Chandra may be bearing-and-carrying a load of highly valuable knowledge, such as important stories or historic poems or songs. It may be their bodily mouth or voice which harbors the carried value, rather than the hungry mouth of the treasure-chest.
- After a powerful early start characterized by a willingness to “bear the burden” of sustained competition, tends toward reduced momentum in the mid-career.
- Excellent support for the relationship-building element of political careers as well as the musical and artistic elements of entertainment or fashion careers.
- May give a huge early burst of success. Yet without strong support from other planets, later efforts may fall below expectations or “flame out”.
- On the foundation of earlier successes, typically a pattern of “coasting” on previous accomplishments, into a less remarkable middle and later phase.
- However all nakshatra of Zukra (venus) can grant good relationships skills, and the native is usually well-liked throughout life.
- Having been invested with trust and appreciation (Zukra) during the earlier half, continues to produce some competitive effort (Mangala/Mars) despite the lower energy of the later half.
- Zukra-ruled Chandra-Bharani * Yama tends to produce singers, experts of face-and-eyes, treasurers, financiers and preservers of worth. They are able to remember, store and produce goods of historical value, including stories and songs. They have earned a reputation for carrying heavy payloads and working to death.
- Yamuna is the twin sister of Lord Yama = deadly labors, working to death
-Load-bearing, the often-fatal burden in the womb
- Slow, steady and financially successful - in general
- Emotionally, Chandra in Bharani needs to “carry a burden of gathered wealth-values”
- Needs to gather, pull, carry, and drag heavy valuable things
- The units of value in the wealth-collection may consist of
- Food, spices, perfumes, oils, wines, speech, lyrics, melodies, poems, objects of beauty, jewels, precious metals, coin of the realm, knowledge of languages, knowledge of history, or other treasures
- Women may serve via multiple child-bearing pregnancies
- Bharani -Chandra = willing and indeed emotionally obliged to carry The heavier weight in partnership
- Will do more work than others in the family, fields, factory, or office
- May seem rather sacrificial or even (when neurotic) martyred in that behavior; yet they actively seek respect and acknowledgement for their weight-bearing and will feel satisfied when recognized for their service
- A spouse who acknowledges Bharani -Chandra’s load-bearing efforts will be much appreciated. In fact, the key to marriage happiness (Zukra) with this native is emotional responsiveness to their emotional need to gain the respect of elders and peers
- Respect is gained via carrying a burden of responsibility in a quiet but influential, values-accumulating fashion
- Can be emotionally repressed, or may become the agent who oppresses others, or one who uncomplainingly serves the oppressed – often all three.
- Typically a bear-and-carrier of conservative values, one who harkens toward olden days of more simple and more physically “solid” values.
- The Bharani native typically displays an intentionally modest lifestyle and appearance which does not broadcast the considerable wealth one has indeed accrued
Jealousy
Tendency toward envy of others who"have it easier".
- Others also may express envy toward the native, criticizing the one’s steady progress toward success in acquiring and carrying the burden of material wealth.
- The native ’s true feelings may hide behind the somber (yama) work ethic and one is emotionally suited to the type of career which allows work to continue until death, such as university professor, attorney in private practice, physician etc.
- May attract jealous women. One’s work will also bear sweet fruits of treasuries and rewarding work-related relationships (Zukra-Kuja).
Feels a deep sense of security and belonging
- When carrying a burden , whether physical, emotional, psychological, social, financial, mental, or spiritual. (, any type of burden whether material or conceptual.)
- Bharani Chandra wants to establish the deepest electro-magnetic emotional bond with one who works alongside or shares the weight .
- This collaborator may be the co-parent, the co-executive, the co-leader, or the cooperating carrier in any setting.
- Deep emotional need to carry work burdens and feel respected for one’s work.
Trauma profile:
- Fear of death;
- Fear of leaving a secure environment;
- Fear of losing the anchor of heaviness provided by one’s defining responsibilities or burdens

DISCLAIMER: if you consider some of these positive and others negative, then I want you guys to know that they come from my personal observations of real life. None of the nakshatras are better or worse, or positive or negative, these are just aspects of them, but nevertheless, true.
Magha people can have such an ego omg like I've said that before with rat yonis but P.Phalguni I think is nowhere near Magha in that department. Ashwini can also come off as egotistical, but it's moreso that they're unintentionally(or sometimes, intentionally) ignorant. Mula can also have egotistical tendencies, esp cause the galactic center(the black hole) is in Mula nakshatra, so they can have this "I'm the center of the world" attitude, but in my experience it manifests as just them mainly trusting themselves. All Ketu nakshatras have this theme of going inwards and shutting the world out, but since Magha is in the Sun ruled Leo (sun=ourselves, confidence) it can come off as undeservedely egotistical, different from Ashwinis aggressively(Aries/Mars) ignorant and Mula's relentlessly preachy(Sagittarius/Jupiter).
The Ashlesha to Jyeshta pipeline is actually very obvious, they're more connected than people realize. Obviously they're both Mercury nakshatras, but Ashlesha is often seen in a very sensual, feminine light and Jyeshta in a no-nonsense, cut to the chase light. The difference is that all that bottled up energy of Ashlesha, that was either healing or poisoning the native is ready to fight and be more direct in Jyeshta. They're both laser focused on survival and protecting themselves, desperately trying to realize themselves in the proccess, so it's a struggle. Both are trying to preserve their energy, but Ashlesha was trapped in the confines of the 4th house(family, roots, mother) and the sign of Cancer/Moon(emotions, fliudity, sensitivity), either for its safety or to its detriment, and was trying to get their energy out in a correct way. Jyeshta is out in the open, thrown in the sign of Scorpio/the 8th house/ passive Mars (transformation, rebirth, purging, sex, death, warfare, survival, defence. You and the other are one and the same in the 8th house). For Jyeshta, the only way to survive, is to win over everyone else, and when they eventually win, they gain dominion over others. So Jyeshta is kind of about revisiting that Ashlesha state and having the revenge, so to speak, because after gaining strength on your own, you eventually have to face the ones who you were so desperately trying to get away from(ashlesha).
Mulas can be so gentle and honestly at first I did not know where that came from, but since the last third of nakshatras are about transcending and mastering their ruling planet in a sense(btw, that does not mean that they embody the energy of the planet more, or that they're better) and Ketu is about primal instincts, then Mula is the place where the individual centers themselves in their truth and is unmoved by others, thus, avoiding unnecessary energy drainage. Of course, they can also be the most untamed of all, but in our civilized(mostly🙁) society, their natural demeanor is extremely calm.
Chitra natives are soooooo chaotic like calm down jesus. It makes sense when your consider that its gunas are TTT(tamas, tamas, tamas). Among the planets, Ketu is the most tamasic one(Chitra's ruler_Mars is also tamasic), but each nakshatra has their own guna(Ashwini is Rajas x3, Bharani is Rajas-Rajas-Tamas, Revati is Sattva x3, you get it). So Chitra people are the most chaotic, if I may say so. (Gotta credit The Hidden Octave's Chitra video for the observation). There are a lot of indicators that explain this but I've already written a lot in the previous ones😭 if you know basic vedic, this observation is of no surprise to you. They can also be prone to anxiety, but often they're unaware of it, so that has a detrimental effect on people around them.
Uttara Bhadrapadas are VERY hard to order around. Impossible even. Idk why someone would want to order someone else around but nevertheless, these natives can deal with any kind of unfairness with such grace, self-mastery and quiet strength that eventually nothing gets to them anymore. So if you see an U. Bhadra child disobey their superiors calmly and in a controlled but determined manner, you know why.
I really have a lot of respect for Uttara Ashadas(not all, lmao), because they just deal with stuff alone. And it's natural for them, and they don't do it for a goal(like in Jyeshta, which is not bad, it's just different) or for attention, it's just a way of life for them. Simplicity and stoicism 🤌
Okay, now a fun one: Moon girls (Rohini, Hasta and Shravana) are the blueprints of Y/N. If you guys don't know what Y/N please look it up. Not just Y/N, but characters like Bella Swan(hasta moon, rohini asc actress) and Elena Gilbert(shravana moon anctress) come to mind. Even popular instagram users who parody those movies/fanfics/characters have moon placements(@laframbuesaa_ rohini moon if i remember correctly and @yasmine_sahid_ shravana moon(?) on insta). Even Harry fcking styles, who is probably the most common love interest in those fanfics has hasta moon. If you know a little about nakshatras, this makes sooo much sense. Moon is something that masses can understand and digest easily, so it's not complicated and sometimes, it can verge on delusions(or an insane sensitivity and receptivity and the ability to read between the lines, but that's just for a number of their natives). Other nakshatras that can fall into the Y/N trope are venus and ketu nakshatras, but moon is the most classic example of it.
I want confirmation in the comments/reblogs for this one: Bharani natives love high fantasy, history(esp medieval), fantasy in general and/or just everything/anything with that vibe. Cause I'm bharani moon and I do, and I've seen some other examples. If not, then the Bharani natives themselves seem like they're out of those times/stories. I can't explain it in any other way. (This might be true for Bharani Ketu too.)
Alright, this is all. Reblog, comment, like. Interact please
A kind of love letter to myself and other bharanis, especially bharani moons.
So, aren't we amazing? 😄 jk, but in all seriousness, I have some opinions and want to express them.
We're mleccha(outcaste) and venus ruled. What the hell is that? We're precious, that's the truth.
If there is one nakshatra that caters to females exclusively, this has to be it. This is no male territory. They wouldn't even understand. They don't. Think of how helpless they are when a female is birthing, how clueless they are about what menstruating feels like. We know some things have to be gatekept, for our sake. That's what we are about: guarding, protecting, gatekeeping, and we do it harshly, mercilessly, there's no other real way of doing it anyways.
I want to talk about what i think Bharani nakshatra is truly about, one word: Fate.
Fate, choicelessness, being at the mercy of higher beings, authority, hierarchy...
Bharani's symbol is widely known to be the yoni(female sexual organ), a gateway to another world. Another symbol is the boat. In Greek mythology, souls were transported to the underworld via a boat. In various cultures, when a person died, people would put the corpse on a boat and let it burn while it floated away on water. Bharani-death association is no news, but why are females the key to all this?
After the freedom in Ashwini, the Sun's exaltation, we come to restraint, and not restraint from our own will, but the restraint we have no choice but to accept. This is the first nakshatra where we see the female. This is Saturn's debilitation, and amidst all this restraint we have the birth of planet Rahu, the birth of desire. Makes for a thrilling combination, does it not? While the male is cerebral, solar, the female is material. She IS the nature. While the male does, female is. The male's the user, the female's the used, and she can be used unfairly, poorly, incorrectly. This is the place where the female gets her revenge. Bharani is like a protection mechanism for ladies, she's given the right to refuse and if that right is violated, the will get her revenge. I'd say she has the power, but that would be wrong, because she IS power.
After all, all that male energy needs grounding, or it will disperse, that's why the female and her body, as well as mother nature that we all live on, are vessels_ material manifestations of the male energy that they hold. Bharani is about the rules that the universe is governed by, the unchangeable rules, the simple truths that have to be accepted. When you realize that the female perfection can be so easily ruined by the incorrect use of male energy, the choicelessness gains a whole new meaning in this context. It's the female that is choiceless, she's simply replicating the energy given to her on the material plane, giving it a shape, its proper shape, and if they don't like what they see, the blame should not be placed on the feminine.
So the female is the material and the rules, the boundaries, the limitations. That's why, in the most stereotipical way, many men fear women or are annoyed by them. The fate cannot be escaped, fortunately or unfortunately, and it does not really care what any individual thinks, it's much bigger than that.
Mythologically, various cultures have attributed fate to the feminine. The fates in greek mythology, three women with their threads of human fate, are one one of them. Another one that comes to mind is the norse goddess Frigg. Although I wouldn't coorelate her to Bharani, I think it's interesting that the highest standing(debatable) Norse goddess has a spinning wheel and a spindle, and it had been said that she knows the fate of everyone and eveything but keeps silent. Another interesting example would be Arianrhod from Welsh mythology. Her name literally means "The Silver wheel". Her various symbols include the tools used for weaving. The wheel-fate coorelation is apparent, and it's also interesting that fate is something to be "weaved" in all these mythologies I've mentioned.
The movie Brave(2012) comes to mind, where the rebellious princess Merida wants to change her fate, without any spoilers, there's a scene in the end where she has to repair a tapestry to avoid some disaster. She also has a tumultuous relationship with her mother, something that is also closely connected to Bharani. A really good example of this the movie Ladybird starring Saoirse Ronan and Laurie Metcalfe, both Bharani moons.
Now we come to the part where I mention my personal life. As Bharani moon my relationship with my mother has been chaotic and full of tension, it's not exactly easy to talk about or explain. I've also noticed this in almost every Bharani person I ever knew. We always have that passion to stand up to authority and injustice, and it frequently leads to quarrels.
TRIGGER WARNING (gaslighting)
So I always thought that the gaslight gatekeep girlboss term is very Bharani. We've discussed the gatekeeping part, the girlboss part is obvious, and about gaslighting... the yoni is called "the great deluder"(source_claire nakti. Had to credit her!).
I want to talk about the movie Tangled and about Rapunzel's tale in general. The original story goes like this: A couple wants a child(that venus, rahu's birth, desire theme) and the wife is pregnant(another bharani symbol) and she's craving a plant- rapunzel, that grows in their neighbor's garden(again, the desire-craving theme). Their neighbor is a sorceress. The husband ultimately steals the rapunzel, but he is caught by its rightful owner. They strike a deal: he can take all the rapunzel he wants in exchange for the baby. The man agrees.
After some time, the baby girl is born, and the witch comes to claim her. She names her Rapunzel, after the plant, and eventually, when she's twelve, locks her up in a tower. Let's pause for a moment to note the fact that we already have the Bharani themes of karma, cause and effect, desire and now claim and ownership(bharani, as the first venus-ruled nakshatra often tries to claim things and label them as their own and then gatekeep it harshly, just like the sorceress in this story. It's also interesting that the OWNED is also feminine).
Now, I really relate to Rapunzel. I also feel like I'm always missing something and that I could attain if only i could escape my current circumstances(the tower). Despite this state, I'm also full of desire and enthusiasm. When I was 8 (?) I won the tickets for my family to the premier of Tangled at my friend's birthday party. I obviously loved it(I still do), loved the story, the animation, THE MUSIC, Eugene... but never did I ever imagine that it would be so emotionally relevant to my life 12 years later. I kinda cracked the code and realised why I love it so much, it's cause she's basically me, and to be honest, she's every human in the truest, simplest way possible.
Anyways, let's continiue wuth the story. Rapunzel is locked in and while she's safe from the world, she's not safe from her "mother". Here I want to move over to the movie Tangled, but before that I'll finish the original. A prince finds her, they become lovers behind the sorceress's back, she eventually finds it out because Rapunzel can't keep her mouth shut, she cuts off Rapunzel's long golden hair and exiles her. When the prince comes to the tower he is greeted by Dame Gothel instead of Rapunzel, she tells him he's not to see Rapunzel again, he falls from there into the rose bushes and blinds himself. After years of wandering, he and Rapunzel finally find each other, Rapunzel's tears heal his blindness, they go to his kingdom and live happily ever after. Now, to Tangled.
The relationship between Rapunzel and and Gothel in Tangled is explored well enough for the audience to realize that she's abusive and a gaslighter(watch cinema therapy on youtube, they have a video about Tangled. They're also very wholesome). She's lying to her to keep her to herself, not really caring about her at all. The way Rapunzel feels misunderstood by the person who raised her feels very personal to me. This theme of gaslighting is very Bharani, as well the theme that love conquers all which is prevalent in the original tale. Also, I think that the damsel in distress archetype is very Bharani, as is the princess in the tower trope. She is power herself, so she's this completely passive power, waiting to be seen and be of use, longing for the other side while being trapped(saturn's debilitation). Bharani is about that leap of faith, to approach the female, to stand up to authority, to be brave, to follow your heart...
My another point is what drives these actions, which is desire and love. Overcoming fear through desire is the theme of Bharani. That's the very basis of life. There are tons of things to be wary of, but if we had no desire, no lust for life, we might not have lived at all. It's no secret that life and death, or birth and death, nourish each other. It's simply a matter of time(saturn, the material. The illusion of time is nessecary for life, limitations are nessecary for life, as bharani teaches us, the point is, are your limitations correct for you and your desires?), it's a process created by the illusion of time, and all is driven by desire. While analyzing the tale of Rapunzel, I've noticed that most people focus on her long golden hair, ignoring what this tale is truly about, which is destiny, karma, cause and effect, bravery, how desire can lead to actions that have undoable consequences, how helplessly are we driven by desire.
One of my favourite movies, Tristan + Isolde (2006) is about the famous couple written about in medieval texts. They live in a cruel world but they're still driven by love and desire, even though everyone and everything around them urges them towards restraint. They choose the limitation based on their hearts, knowing of the consequences that they would most likely have to face. I won't spoil it for you, but there's a quote in the end that i think really represents the essence of Bharani, at least, from the human perspective: " I don't know if life is greater than death, but love was more than either." This is very poweful. Life and death are just opposite sides of the same coin, death leads to birth, birth leads to death, and it's all driven by desire, it's all driven by love. And whether or not we have choice in all of this, we still simply have to accept the truth, we have to accept our truest limitations, as that is only way of growth and self-realization.
I'll leave you to that movie, that quote and this song. Love all of you, take care ❤
Please, interact with me. Like, reblog, COMMENT, especially if you're bharani, I'd love to hear your thoughts.
House meanings in astrology part I, including a long explanation of the role of the ascendant
After posting my piece on *not* associating houses with signs, I think it’s only fitting to make a proper post on house meanings. Because, apparently, you can never have enough of astrology 101.
1ST HOUSE: the self, physical body and appearance, character
It’s how we present ourselves into the world & the lens which we look at it; how we approach things. It’s the most immediate & visible part of our chart. Anything touching our 1st house (whether it’s a natal placement or transit), has a direct influence on us. One of the problems of some astrology sources is that they state that our ascendant is the mask we put on as if it was something that’s fake about us or only showing when someone doesn’t know us well. That’s not the case. Tell me Sagittarius risings only seem to be funny storytellers or Gemini risings only faking that they’re witty & full of restless energy or ever-changing ideas. Or that Taurus risings only pretend that they seek stability. No, the ascendant very much describes one’s personality traits.
1st house also represents our physical body. It’s our energy levels + combined with the state of 1st house ruler, it can partially show the nature of our health and our weak spots. Look-wise, it’s important to know that no one looks 100% just like their rising sign. It’s always a mix of the chart’s influence but there are certain characteristics that may be present in one’s appearance. That includes the way we carry ourselves; it’s our mannerisms & body language. And the way we interact with people, especially those we don’t know well yet. Like fire risings tend to be more expressive and their lively spirit takes up more space, so to speak; they usually fill up the room. Earth risings seem to be very grounded, composed and with a calm disposition, good listeners. Water risings have the tendency be more withdrawn and may blend in with their surroundings or be more sensitive to what is going on around them. Then air risings may seem like the friendly cool cats of the company while being more impersonal in their approach.
I said the 1st is how we present ourselves - but it’s not necessary about our looks. Remember, your ascendant line and 1st house is literally the beginning of your chart; it sets the rest of your houses. This means whatever happens to you throughout your life is going to have that ascendant’s sign tint to it. It’s like the theme color of your life’s path. So, as an example, a Scorpio rising may be a bubbly, colourful person (a complete opposite of the stereotype), but their life might be full of deeply transformative or even shocking, sudden (just like the ruler, Mars) events; they may posess a scorpionic persistence and sensitivity that they carry in everything they do.
Something that’s not often talked about is that the 1st also relates to our mind. It’s different than the 12th where our subconscious lays & different than the 3rd, which is our direct communication and intake of information (more on that later). That’s why it very much portrays layers of our full personality and our attitude towards the surroundings.
I want to touch on few of the things here. One being, the 1st house is important in grasping the nature of other houses by their mutual correspondence. It’s important to understand the core technical basics of astrology (something people tend to skip, which is a big mistake) in order to fully get the idea of how and why. I will probably be mentioning this while I explain each house, but let’s quickly take an example of the 12th house. Why is it the malefic, “untangible” house? People would say because it’s ruled by Neptune so it’s foggy and blah blah. But forget about this for a second and think of the structure of the chart itself. Remember, astrology is all about the geomery - even the planet-sign associations were originally based on geometry, not on archetypical meanings. So. 12th house cannot be seen from the perspective of the 1st (just like the 2nd, 6th and 8th) - aka it doesn’t make any major aspect from the ascendant (so-called aversion but keep in mind this method is mainly used in a whole sign system). It is literally behind our back.
Another thing I wanted to mention is having planets in the 1st house. They color our ascendant, yes. But it’s important to notice that sometimes it can be a lot to, for example, have a stellium in the 1st. I’ve said the 12th house is behind our back. Well imagine then having all those planets on your back - it can be overwhleming, it can be burdensome; it means taking all that junk on yourself - what junk it is, depends on the nature of the planets and what houses do these planets rule. Let’s say you have your MC ruler in the 1st - that can be potentially good, because it may suggest that you’re just known for being you. But this also can mean your carreer is very much tied to your persona or even physical body - so those two can affect each other, for better of worse. Having 7th house ruler in the 1st can mean you’re basing your own worth on the relationships you’re in. All that means people with 1st house planets tend to be very sensitive and take things very personally. On top of that, it can also indicate having health issues - because these planets sit, well, physically on your body. This of course depends on the nature of the planet(s) - are they benefics or malefics, or neutral (Mercury); what’s their dignity; again, what houses they rule.
The placement of your ascendant ruler is one of the most important things in the chart. Something that have stuck with me was Austin Coppock saying how your ascendant is the ship and the ascendant ruler is the steersman. The state of the chart ruler can tell you where and how you put your energy. It can tell you about the state of your body and self; whether you’re going to have it easy in life or not; sometimes even your life’s circumstances; what you need in life; what you’re driven by and what affects you. No matter the planet that is your ascendant ruler (again, I would advice looking at classic rulership in the first place), everything that touches it, is going to directly infuence you. It can be by natal aspect, transit or even synastry aspect - having someone’s planets on your ascendant ruler is like a backup for having them on your ascendant/in the 1st house. Transits can affect you physically, even if that planet’s Saturn or Mercury or whatever.
2ND HOUSE: our posessions, money, things material, everything we own physically, what we find valuable
I see the 2nd house as one of the most straightforward houses (also the most boring one but that’s just me being the least materialistic person you’ll know). Now, people say it’s the house of money - because that’s the world we live in & everyone is chasing that check. But it’s also the things that we find valuable in general - yes, the material ones, because values as in beliefs are a 9th house matter. So it’s everything we own - money, clothes, collectibles, your car, you name it. It shows how we earn and handle money & what’s our attitude towards the material things. It’s also food because that’s something you need to first own in order to consume. All these attributes indicate the state of our self-worth & self-esteem, because, again, we live in a world where you’re nothing without material goods.
This is the first succendent house - it serves to support the 1st house. Just like the 12th house, it aspects the 1st with a semi-sextile (which means it doesn’t make a major aspect), which indicates that it’s one of the malefic houses, although it’s important to note that it’s seen as the least bad of them (because it aspects the 10th with a trine, which helps things out; this also connects money matters with carreer matters). Let’s say then that it’s somewhat a neutral house.
It’s all day-to-day things & everything we do on a regular basis. It’s basically our routines. Things like running errands, having our post delivered by the postman, picking up our favourite newspaper (like, I know no one does that anymore but still) or, alternatively, getting that newsletter every week; checking on your favourite websites every morning. Even though it’s the 11th house that rules internet and social groups, in some ways, the 3rd backs up the aspect of communicating through social media (but not belonging to social media groups). The repeatedness and familiarity of the 3rd also ties to our immediate surroundings. So it’s our neighbourhood & neighbours; it’s also things like running errands; short-distance travel & day-to-day travel that you’re doing routinely (like to school or work). It can also show you in what environment you live.
3rd says about our siblings and cousins. It can be literal, if you have Pisces in your 3rd house, your siblings or cousins can have heavy Pisces energy. But it also talks about your relationship with them. It also shows what was your experience in primary school & your school life: how were you perceived; were you popular or picked on; were you top of the class etc. Also, how is your intake of information like; did you like to study, was there any obstacles during your education. It’s because the 3rd shows how we process things mentally; what’s in our head; our ideas & communication style.
It’s the first cadent house, closing the first quadrant of the chart. It serves to help us analyze the things that happened in the succedent 2nd house and prepares us to move to the second quadrant. The energy of the 3rd house is very flowing as it aspect the ascendant with a sextile and the descendant with a trine - so the communication aspect really connects the person (1st) with the people (7th house).
4TH HOUSE: family, parents, roots, home, the most private part of the chart
It’s the second angular house, so it’s one of the four most sensitive parts of the chart but it’s also the most hidden. It shows our family matters and roots. People these days usually connect it to the mother specifically but it actually used to be the father (and mother being in the 10th). I personally always leaned more towards it being connected to the father (maybe because usually he’s seen as the head of the family); it’s just every time I see, for example, a malefic planet in the 4th, there’s always something about the father figure being off or troublesome in the person’s life, not the mother. But, I mean, to each their own. But it does represent family and parents especially in general. For example, having Jupiter in the 4th can mean having a big family or, alternatively, having foreign roots.
3rd was the environment and neighbourhood we live in, 4th can literally represent our home. How it looks, the conditions we live in, our perception of comfort & how we achieve it in our home. Continuing with the Jupiter example, if you’d to move a few times in your life, each next house you live in can be bigger and bigger.
4th is also our private life; things we may not want to show to the public (as opposed to the MC and the 10th house); things close to our heart & things that bring us comfort or things that we grew up on.
Now, with quadrant house systems, your IC-MC line will always represent the beginning of 4th and 10th houses. Using whole sign or sometimes equal, those two angles can actually fall in different houses. This is actually pretty significant and can give you an additional information: so think about it like transfering the IC matters into a different house. So for example, having IC in the 3rd house underlines its importance. Maybe your home/family situation wasn’t fitting for you (for many different reasons) so it was your neighbourhood that raised you, maybe you really soaked up its influence rather than your family’s. Or maybe your siblings had a major influence on you & it’s them that raised you. On the other hand, if your IC falls into the 5th, you could live in your own little creative bubble as a kid & it’s what brings you ease and comfort.
5TH HOUSE: children, creativity, romance & sex, fun and pleasure
I’ve described this in my infamous (lol) post on houses, house rulerships & how ya’ll should stop associating them with signs + a rant on the meaning of the 8th house, but I’m going to do this one more time. Here’s how it goes. Children are represented by the 5th house because it’s about procreation. So you literally create kids - that’s why it’s about creativity overall. And that is why it’s also about sex and pleasure. I’m really not diggin the idea of 8th being associated with sex “because it comes after the 7th house union of two people and that’s the right order”. No it’s not.
So yes, for those asking why topics associated with the 5th are so random: they’re not, they make a lot of sense actually. It’s just the house of FUN, all these things are FUN (well maybe except for when you have Mars in the 5th and you actually don’t like kids and are too impatient for them… or, alternatively, with either of the malefics, had issues getting pregnant/carrying a pregnancy so you have some mental scars from it. Then yea, not fun).
You can also look at the 5th house (along with the state of its ruler and your Moon) to see how fertile you are. Or how your pregnancy is going to be. But that’s a topic in itself. Obviously what your attitude towards children is and how your potential kid is going to be like (some say the 5th only talks about your first-born tho; then it’s the 7th, 9th etc; also adopted children are said to be represented by your 11th house).
It’s the house of romance, sex and all things nice. Literally with the traditional joy scheme, it’s the Venus that rejoices in here. It’s the house of creativity. Now, I’ve noticed people who have a planet or even a stellium in the 5th house aren’t necessary artistic nor they are masters of creative thinking (unfortunately saw examples of that). Let’s remember if that’s the case, it’s their kids that can have artistic and creative abilities. It happens that people with Sun or Moon in the 5th may a bit obsessively see their kid(s) as the light of their life, focusing their whole attention to them. Add the creative aspect to that, you know those parents that are pushing their children to attend as many art/music classes as possible just because? Mhm. And if it’s not their own kids that they pay all their attention to, then they may somehow work with children.
Besides that, 5th house people may like partying, gambling, pleasures in general. Sometimes the 5th also stands for entrepreneurship.
6TH HOUSE: health, service, work, employees, pets
Ahh, the first problematic house. You overwork yourself, get sick and then you die. Lol jk.
Now it’s not as bad, the 6th is configured with a trine to the 10th house, that’s why it’s partially connected to work matters. The difference is, you may work somewhere but you’re not going to make a career out of it. That’s why it also talks about service work - your job may not be the “prettiest” or most rewarding in the context of feeling on top of the world, but it’s kind of like “someone’s gotta do it”.
Now let’s say your 10th house looks good and you do make a career, then the 6th shows your employees. It’s because it’s the house that’s below the 7th, it’s moving away from it. So if the 7th is your partnerships and people that are on equal terms with you, then the 6th are people that are literally below you in some sense: your employees, your staff, the gardener that takes care of your plants, that person who cleans your house once a week or the babysitter that’s taking care of your kids.
6th rules physical health (mental health is linked with 12th), injuries and accidents. So whatever planets sit in there and whatever sign occupies it, can point to possible problems. As always, look at the ruler of the house as well. But not to be all grim, 6th does talk about you taking care of your body through physical stuff just because you want it and you want to be proactive and not necessary because you need it per se - so either excercise or medication/supplements (not meditation, cause, again, that’s a 12th house thing).
It’s usually said that the 6th is about routine but for me it’s more about responsibility: you do things because you have to do them, otherwise things can go bad: you do your work, your duties; if you’re suffering from any illnesses, you need to consistently take care of it etc.
Then there’s a connection between the service and health aspect of the house so it can point to working in a health service. And finally, out of nicer things, 6th house rules pets. Smaller pets, to be exact.
In astrology there are 12 houses, one for each sign. You need to know your time of birth in order to find out your houses. Each house has to deal with an area of your life. Each planet in your natal chart is in one of the twelve houses. Your rising/ascendant sign is your first house. The other 11 houses in your natal chart each have a sign in it.
The 1st House; House of Self; Ruled by Aries: This represents your rising/ascendant sign. It is that house that represents the self, who you are, and your personality that the world sees. Having planets in the first house accentuates that planet and makes it more prominent and other people can see it more in your personality. (Ex. Mars in 1st house, people easily see your sexuality, anger and drive.)
The 2nd House; House of Possessions; Ruled by Taurus: The second house represents your possessions and what you own. This can represent what you’ve worked for and achieved, your value and your security. Planets in the second house show that you value that planet and want to protect it. (Ex. Moon in 2nd house, you value your emotions, need and wants and you want to protect them.)
The 3rd House; House of Communication; Ruled by Gemini: The third house represents communication. This can represent the people you talk to, your neighbours, you style of learning and your immediate environment. Planets in the third house means that that planet surrounds itself around your immediate environment. (Ex. Venus in 3rd house, you have a love for friends and knowledge/books and the simplistic things in life.)
The 4th House; House of Home; Ruled by Cancer: The fourth house represents the home. This can represent your family, where you feel at home you soul, what makes you feel safe and your childhood. Planets in the fourth house show that the planet(s) deeply has an impact on you and the energy of the planet defines who you truly are. (your soul) (Ex. Sun in 4th house, you define your identity as the person you are when no one’s looking; you define yourself as your soul.)
The 5th House; House of Pleasure; Ruled by Leo: The fifth house represents pleasure. This can represent children, romance, creativity, art and fun. Planets in the fifth house can show that the planet’s energies are expressed through creativity and romance. (Ex. Mars in 5th house, your passion comes out when you are being creative and having fun.)
The 6th House; House of Health; Ruled by Virgo: The sixth house represents your health. This can represent your daily life, work, your work environment, service and your well being. Planets in the sixth house indicate that the planet(s) the sixth house is in, revolves around your work environment. (Ex. Mercury in 6th house, you use your communication skills in your daily and work life to help people and solve problems.)
The 7th House; House of Relationships; Ruled by Libra: The seventh house represents relationships. This can represents your friends, your significant other, your business partners, any one-on-one relationship. Planets in the seventh house indicate that the planet(s) that the seventh house is in, revolves around support from other people. (Ex. Moon in 7th house, you heavily rely on your partner to feel good and feel safe.)
The 8th House; House of Sex; Ruled by Scorpio: The eighth house represents sex. This can represent death, rebirth, transformation and secrecy. Planets in these houses can indicate that the energy from that planet may go through many changes. It can also indicate that it is difficult to release the energy from that planet if it is in that house. (Ex. Saturn in 8th house, may go through many transformations from lessons and has a fear of losing control over their emotions.)
The 9th House; House of Philosophy; Ruled by Sagittarius: The ninth house represents philosophy. This can represent higher learning, travel, law, spirituality and understanding. Planets in the ninth house can indicate the planet that the ninth house is in brings to light your knowledge through the energy of that planet and project it on other people. (Ex. Jupiter in 9th house, they have a knowledge of wisdom and want to give it to other people.)
The 10th House; House of Social Status; Ruled by Capricorn: The tenth house represents social status. This can represent fame, reputation, the public, promotions, career and jobs. Planets in the tenth house can indicate the energy from the planet in the house being projected into their careers and the public. They can also indicate fame depending on the planet the tenth house is in. (Ex. Sun in 10th house, you are a great leader and you identify yourself through the public eye.)
The 11th House; House of Friendships; Ruled by Aquarius: The eleventh house represents friendships. This can represent groups, networking, organizations, room to grow and your community. Planets in the eleventh house can indicate where you shine in your social groups and acquaintances. (Ex. Saturn in the 11th house, you learn your lessons through your friends and social groups and you make them your obligation.)
The 12th House; House of Self-Undoing; Ruled by Pisces: The twelfth house house represents self-undoing. This can represent dreams, the unconscious, repression, karma, isolation and sorrow. Planets in the twelfth house usually have their energy hidden and/or repressed. They can also indicate psychic abilities and being able to pick up on others’ emotions. (Ex. Venus in 12th house, they have an amazing artistic expression but their loving nature may be repressed.)

when the 12th house is not so good ; our tough karmic lessons
the only interpretation that led me to really understand the twelfth house was through alyssa sharpe. i love poetic description about the 12th house and i think that it’s fairly fitting for what it encompasses and symbolizes, but it never hits me in a way that causes me to really feel it. what i interpreted of her video on the twelfth house is that it is a house of self-sabotage, where we feel compelled to restrict ourselves, and where we feel viscerally wronged in our lives and personality (whether this belief is valid or not- and plenty often, it is not). this is a house that is draped in neptune flow, so whatever we find in this house is adorned with delusion and false expectation. we do not feel the reality of what is in the twelfth house and it is something we must teach ourselves throughout our whole life. we must undo the disillusionment we have given ourselves with planets in this house and & understand how to cut through its cunning escapism to look at things how they really are.
sun in the 12th house: self-sabotage in the ego. individuals with this placement often feel like their ‘true’ self was never allowed to shine in childhood or adolescence, and as a result these are very fragile & introspective people. others might feel like they are walking on eggshells around these people because oftentimes this placement indicates an easily wounded individual. every word that is not positive is felt as an attack to this person. the lesson with the sun in twelfth house is to assert their personality, and learn criticism is necessary for growth and not an attack on the individual.
moon in the 12th house: the thoughts and emotions of the individual feel invalid in this house, and through feelings of perhaps desperation or a demand to feel rational, in-control, or on the other extreme of the spectrum, just noticed, this placement can indicate either extreme coping/burying mechanisms of the emotions, or bursts of energy and rage and instability in an effort to be seen. balance is needed in this house, and a support system of people who will assure them of the validity of their feelings and help them express them in healthy ways. a danger of this house might be self-medicating, and this must be worked on as well.
mercury in the 12th house: it is not uncommon for those with mercury in twelfth not to trust their instincts, for they are not confident enough in their mental capabilities to steer them correctly. they may look to others for guidance and acceptance, validating what they have to say. similar to a retrograde mercury, this is a placement that causes the native to over-critically examine each word to come out of their mouth, so much so that they may not say hardly a thing. on the other hand, they may feel compelled to say too much in search of anyone to listen and pay attention to their words. the mind may be clouded by nothing but their own doubt, and through learning to value one’s thoughts does the mind begin to achieve clarity.
venus in the 12th house: the romantic endeavors in the life of this person feels invisible or vastly under-appreciated. this may also hold true for someone with taurus or libra on the twelfth house cusp. these people can often feel victimized in relationships or they attract people who feel they need to be ‘saved’. on the flip side, they might feel like they need to be saved. the potential to lose yourself in a partner is high here, and one might need to learn more about themselves, their tastes, and what they need from a partner through relationships. one must learn to assert themselves in their romance + creative life, and also to avoid relationships where there is an imbalance of power or support.
mars in the 12th house: cyclical events of repressing one’s anger and, after torturing oneself for too long, explodes in a mess of outward and inward verbal destruction. insecurity in themselves is common, as they feel they cannot assert themselves; they may allow people to walk all over them for fear of standing up for themselves. but again, when they have reached their breaking point, they can truly explode with every word they have wanted to say for months, cutting deep both within the native themself and to the person at which it is directed. since this is a particularly extreme planet placement for the twelfth house, the journey to understanding yourself and finding out how to stand on your own feet must be a gentle, forgiving process to achieve balance between buried and volcanic emotions.
jupiter in the 12th house: this is thought of by many (including myself) as a ‘guardian angel’ placement. some idealize this placement; to me, it is ironic that such is the case because blind optimism can be a trait of this placement. not in a traditional sense, but rather of one failing to set in place a set of checks and balances for jupiter’s unyielding desire to expand and declare philosophy. as such, those with this placement may feel rather attacked when suggested to view the world with a more critical eye. as stated above, wrapping neptune delusion around jupiter viewpoint can cause some harsh extremes when viewing others’ morals and decisions, so a lesson here would be to double-check yourself. open your mind and allow yourself to be more willing to hear other viewpoints, and be open to thinking you might even be wrong about some things.
saturn in the 12th house: can indicate an individual who simply cannot ask for help. in times of hardships or situations where one is burdened with responsibility, the native may evade from these troubles and instead isolate themselves. it may be difficult for this individual to really get in touch with themself in introspective or spiritual senses. in an attempt to have control over their emotions, they may get easily overwhelmed. in a broad, general sense, saturn in twelfth house can indicate persistent feelings of guilt without being able to articulate or solve it. opening up is a necessity with this house, to accept responsibility in order to deal with life healthily, to be honest and objective with the self, and to challenge the harsh standards one may have put on themself.
uranus in the 12th house: the genius and innovation of uranus, in this house, does not reveal itself except for in times of deep introspection and staggering personal overhaul. i saw the phrase ‘the closet rebel’ tacked to this placement, and it is valid. these individuals want to be extraordinary, but an internal (sometimes external) force makes them feel as though their gifts are sabotaged. the need to be great is shoved deep inside, often due to feeling that their individuality and ideas do not deserve to be brought to light. an embrace of their own unique strangeness is needed to learn from this house in order to realize the true potential of their ideas.
neptune in the 12th house: an atlas complex is found with neptune in the twelfth house. this individual feels so compelled to help everyone around them, they can be delusional of how much energy they can afford to bleed out. as a result, there are potentially persisting feelings of guilt or a loss of identity. spreading oneself too thin is a common potential for those with this placement, and as a result they may self-medicate through escapism or self-destructive acts to deal with the confusion, emptiness, or guilt they may feel. one most view the subconscious objectively, if only to understand their limits.
pluto in the 12th house: highly resistant to transformation. heavy changes in the life of this person are met with hesitance and fear as opposed to a healthy understanding. this individual may even exacerbate their problems or resist growth with unhealthy coping mechanisms; the reality of change means harsh introspection and uncovering harsh truths about the self, and they don’t want this! those with this placement need to learn to bite the bullet and discover the things in their life that are hindering their growth and deal with it healthily in order to move forward.
Okay so I was inspired by this post by @solilunar to actually take a look at exaltations and their significance in the zodiac!
*Note that some authors disagree on some exaltations but I included everything to keep interpretations open.
Aries - The Sun and Pluto (according to some authors) are exalted under this sign, Aries holds the bright and vital energy of the sun, it fuels them, but they also crave power to an extent, they crave transformation to gain strength and empowerment.
Taurus - The Moon is exalted here - and how fitting for such a planet. There is a strong emotional nature to Taurus that sets it apart from other earth signs, the way that they touch, the importance of the senses and their overall need for closeness and physical contact is hugely related to the comforting nature of the Moon.
Gemini - The Moon’s North Node is exalted under Gemini although it is not much spoken about. Gemini being ruled by Mercury serves a role of communication, the North Node exalts here as Gemini serves a perfect messenger between the soul and the mundane body and mind.
Cancer - Jupiter and Neptune exalt under Cancer. Jupiter exalting under Cancer accounts for the abundance and fertility of this sign, the sheer amount of love and comfort that this sign has to give. Neptune exalting under Cancer accounts for age old wisdom and intuition that we relate to the mother figure. Cancer provides fertile soil for Neptune’s dreams to be planted in.
Leo - Neptune exalts under Leo according to some authors which I find so fascinating as people seem to have this preconceived idea that Leo is a very self involved sign, however the planet of unconditional love and sacrifice feels welcome here. Leo encourages unconditional love within the self as well as to the outside world.
Virgo - Mercury exalts under the same sign it rules - Virgo. A lot of people say that this is because of how interchangeable Mercury is, it lacks gender and constriction of any kind which makes room for any kind of possibility.
Libra - Saturn is exalted in Libra which tends to be a head scratcher for most people because Libra tends to be associated with love and pretty things. However Libra is also represented by the scales, it rules social order and balance, something that requires a lot of discipline and calculating skills. Libra is not just a lover - she is a Leader.
Scorpio - Uranus is exalted under Scorpio and it’s a match made in heaven in my eyes. I believe that Scorpio and Uranus go hand in hand in a lot of ways. Uranus represents revolution and change for the better. That’s where Scorpio comes in. Scorpio breaks everything down, everything we’re familiar with, only to build things up stronger, better. Uranus exalted under Scorpio pairs revolution with transformation.
Sagittarius - The Moon’s South Node is exalted under Sagittarius. The South Node signifies all that we came into this life with. Wisdom, a thirst for knowledge, optimism - these are all the things we come into life with. Gradually we grow out of these things however, to find them again through Gemini - school and learning.
Capricorn - Mars is exalted under Capricorn which can account for their “mean” streak. I don’t mean this in terms of their attitude, but Capricorns are generally very ambitious, they have their eye on the prize and they know that to get to the top they need to have a bit of an edge. Capricorn expresses the aggression of Mars in a much more polished manner than the likes of Aries or Scorpio would.
Aquarius - No planet exalts in Aquarius and reason as to why is still debated.
Pisces - Venus and Pluto (according to some authors) are exalted under Pisces which I think really captures the values and the nature of Pisces. Neptune which rules Pisces is the higher octave of Venus so Venus in this case relates to the capacity for love and attraction that Pisces hold, their peaceful nature. However Pluto is also the esoteric ruler of Pisces and plays a major role in the emotional structure of Pisces. The Pluto exaltation accounts for the fearlessness that Pisces holds when venturing into the dark and unknown. Both of these planets contribute to the ethereal nature of Pisces.
Aries Rising (Pisces 12th): Deeply afraid to offend others, childish, proclaims innocence whether actually innocent of not, either very spiritually attuned or completely tuned off a “deeper” level, very manipulative though seemingly blind to this, projects own issues onto others, depressive periods, either insomnia or can sleep for days, sensitive to blood, horror, slasher flicks.
Taurus Rising (Aries 12th): Annoyed by many things, an opinion for everything, dogmatic and contrary to suit ones needs, rage issues, either very confrontational or not nearly enough, gets into trouble when angry or impulsive, needs constructive outlets for pent up energy, sexual secrets and many possible one night stands or partners.
Gemini Rising (Taurus 12th): Lazy, unmotivated, copies off of friends to form goals with hopes of “togetherness”, gets left behind a lot, stuck in a rut and comfortable with it, New Age parents, the cool one in high school…still there at 35, spoiled, tantrums, either longs for a family or wants nothing to do with it, weight issues, codependent, not very responsible.
Cancer Rising (Gemini 12th): two-faced, friends with everyone and no one, either a pathological liar, or always accused of lying, very careful with communication, hints assumptions and backhanded compliments, independent, secretly self motivated, socially accepted, uses humor to gain favor with others, avoids confrontation, avoids being held accountable.
Leo Rising (Cancer 12th): homebody, distrustful and very particular over subjects others would consider strange, overly emotional, needy and clingy in relationships, wary of emotions, materialistic in a “spiritual” or artistic kind of way, nose in everyone’s business, needs to feel needed - or hates feeling responsible for others, soft spot for children and animals.
Virgo Rising (Leo 12th): painfully shy, uncomfortable seeking attention but also craves nothing more, self confidence of a shoe, stubborn and insistent their way is the right way, nice to strangers and rude to family, or sometimes the other way around, a gym buff, eating disorders, fads and crazy diets, plastic surgery & obsession over physical attributes over those of substance.
Libra Rising (Virgo 12th): Can NOT handle criticism, has no problem dishing it out anywhere and everywhere, feels attacked by…everything, gossiping, complainer, a bit backstabby, somehow manages to justify everything they do, at least to themselves, narrowminded themselves yet avoids others who may judge them, either diet obsessed or chubby, eating disorders, too practical or not enough, either very clean or hasnt ever used a sponge…ever.
Scorpio Rising (Libra 12th): seeks outside validation to all decisions, down to who they even are, sees themselves as supreme judgment on any matter, extremely fearful of negative public opinion, tells everyone what they want to hear, relationship oriented and cannot be alone, borderline codependency, will usually try to do “the right thing”, fearful of higher powers (more judgment), friendly and very communicative on the surface, friends with everyone, people pleaser.
Sagittarius Rising (Scorpio 12th): attracted to dark and usual things, perverted, either obsessed with the mystery of things or completely one level - no deep stuff, longs for reinvention but deeply fearful of change, a horror fan, attractions to taboo, sexually experimental, possible sexual abuse or deeply ingrained psychological afflictions, STDs, controlling and can be very cruel.
Capricorn Rising (Sagittarius 12th): naively optimistic, domineering or bossy in matters one considers themself the “expert”, friendly yet curiously unaware of the public’s opinions of them, destructively impulsive, alcoholism, sexually adventurous or a total prude, craves parties and social occasions, but acts extremely awkward at them, blunt to the point of hurtful, blind to faults.
Aquarius Rising (Capricorn 12th): immature, freelance worker or “free spirit”, contradictory, responsible yet shirks responsibility whenever possible, good with money yet doesn’t care to earn it, controlling with those they love, cold and calculating, unemotional and judgmental towards those that use emotions to express themselves, dedicated to their path, a late bloomer, always has a Plan B, materialistic or the polar opposite, may resent materialism at its core.
Pisces Rising (Aquarius 12th): weird, quirky, awkward in most social settings, rarely feels they belong, confused easily, either intellectually inclined or terrible in school, the nerd or the outcast, the prodigal son, friendly yet alone, solitary interests, worldly concerns or aspirations, a know it all, sometimes the opposite and uncomfortable with anything considered “weird”, a couch philosopher, active in social media more than real life, sexually different.
Some people have hidden houses, if your 12th is different from the usual, read your rising and whatever your 12th actually is. Often our 12th houses are our hidden enemies…which is often a projection of the things inside of us we do not want to face. Our wounds, afflictions, obsessions…what we must transcend to become whole and happy in ourselves & our lives ❤
In this house, one can locate their deepest psychological fears and desires, and work through them, so that the weaknesses that they bring can be made harmless. These issues are much of the time examples of self-harm, and unless one accepts, acknowledges and chooses not to repress them, they will strike back with more fury.
⭐The 12th House Rules Dreams and Rest
The twelfth house likewise rules our dreams, the dream world and the how we sleep and rest. Likewise, mystical phenomenon, intuitive insight and a considerable measure of spiritual activity are also ruled by this house; even though these aspects are for the most part things that are not controlled by the individual.
⭐The 12th House Rules All That is Below the Surface
All that is concealed, including the potentially disastrous secrets are likewise matters of this twelfth house. Hidden activities, illegal work, unlawful situations, and classified information are likewise categories that are affected by the twelfth house. What's more, the house is a dependable place to look when one wants to learn about the kind of secrets that are in one’s lives, both in ourselves and in the environment around us.

🔏PLANETS IN THE 12TH HOUSE
Moon:A 12th house Moon gives the gift of empathy, sensitivity, and an almost psychic-ability to feel others’ suffering. An undiscovered Moon can indicate being unaware of one’s own needs and feelings which can lead to destruction.
Sun:the 12th house Sun is the gift of tuning int the collective, merging one’s own ego with the divine and a deep sense of connection with spirituality. The curse of the 12th house unconscious Sun is a low self-esteem, inferiority complexes and issues with identity.
Mercury:Mercury in the 12th house talks about the gift of “sight”, of intuitive understanding, storytelling, meditation and mental creativity. Problems with Mercury in the 12th house can include overthinking, having troublesome or defeating thoughts and not trusting your own ideas.
Venus:the downside of Venus in the 12th house is, of course, unconscious relationships which can lead to endings. However, a well-understood 12th house Venus gives the gift of spiritual relationships and a willingness to sacrifice.
Mars:Problems with Mars in the 12th house can include an inability to go after what we want, repressed anger and a lowered drive. When we work constructively with Mars, we can find a strong desire to help others, and an ability to go with the flow as well as hidden strength and power.
Jupiter:Jupiter is probably one the best 12th house planets. Here, it’s said that he is protective and that angels have your back! The worst that can happen with Jupiter here is a bit of excessiveness which we may not be aware of.
Saturn:In ancient astrology, Saturn is saying of have his “joy” in the 12th house. Yes, he can sometimes indicate anxieties and fears which we aren’t aware of, which may affect our lives negatively, but he also says that we are able to master those fears, with work.
Uranus:With Uranus in the 12th house, we bury our uniqueness and fear expressing our originality. This can make us act out in rebellious ways if we don’t allow ourselves to march to the beat of our own drum.
Neptune: Neptune in the 12th house is comfortable here, and can be one of the main indicators of psychic abilities. However, if we don’t have boundaries, Neptune can be destructive and we may feel confused in life or have addiction issues.
Pluto: When we have Pluto in the 12th house, we may bury, hide or distort power. So, we need to become aware of our own inner power and own it in order to access the transformative energy of this powerhouse planet.
🔏PLANETS AS 12TH HOUSE RULER
Saturn as twelfth house ruler casts the shadow of acedia (translated as “sloth,” but that’s not quite what it is): fear, depression, self-abasement, and restriction in general, but he can be a powerful ally if he is strong and placed in the twelfth house too. The luminous gift of Saturn is industria: persistence, effort, and ethical action, empowered by the steel Saturn puts in our spines when we come into right relationship with him.
Jupiter as twelfth house ruler casts the shadow of gula (“gluttony”): an insatiable need to have more, to consume, to fill a void that cannot be filled, at the detriment of one’s health and wellness. The luminous gift of Jupiter is temperantia (“temperance”): humanity, equanimity, and balance in consumption and contribution, a bold and generous giver who invites everyone to his table of plenty, regardless of their ability to pay.
Mars as the twelfth house ruler casts the shadow of ira (“wrath): violence, anger, rage without a constructive direction, that picks fights just to have something to do. The luminous gift of Mars is patientia (“patience”): forgiveness, mercy, and steadfast endurance against the storms of life. Mars made luminous is a champion for those who have none to fight for them.
The Sun as the twelfth house ruler casts the shadow of superbia (“pride”): being enamored with own’s excellence and self-aggrandizement. The luminous gift of the Sun is humilitas (“humility”), which is not false modesty but rather an honest and objective understanding of one’s own position and the bravery and reverence for all life-ways that emerge from such a firm footing.
Venus as the twelfth house ruler casts the shadow of luxuria (“lust”): viewing others as objects for the gratification of one’s own desires, to the diminishment of other people. The luminous gift of Venus is castitas (“chastity”): far from being sexless or joyless, a sex-positive “chastity” allows one to view their partners not as objects to be mastered for their own pleasure but as a Subject with freedom, agency, and ability to contribute to a mutually-enriching garden of delight.
Mercury as the twelfth house ruler casts the shadow of invidia (“envy”): constantly searching for the missing piece that will make one finally feel complete and whole, but never finding it, for such a missing piece is but a myth. The luminous gift of Mercury is humanitas (“kindness” or “humanity”): not only does Mercury rule two of the humane signs (and is triplicity ruler of all the air signs), Mercury allows one to experience shared thought and shared feeling that moves one to compassion.
The Moon as the twelfth ruler casts the shadow of avaritia (“greed”): as the Moon gathers things and people together in one place, she seldom releases them, and a shadowy Moon utilizes other people to fill an insatiable need to acquire. But the luminous gift of the Moon is caritas (“charity” or “lovingkindness”), a selfless love that is wholly devoted to the wellbeing of others and manifests in generosity and sacrifice.

Twelfth house ruler in the twelfth house: the Shadow lives right where it is supposed to, and presents its luminous gifts to us readily and handily, so long as we are paying attention to it.

🔺12TH HOUSE IN ZODIAC SIGNS🔻
🌈The Twelfth House In Aries
When the twelfth house is set in the sign of Aries, it is almost always a sign that problems with healthy boundaries will be present in a person’s life. Others will intrude in their world as if they had no membranes to recognize and defend themselves from those who steal their energy. In time, they will have to “remember” what it was like to follow the passion within, fight for their rights , yell at others if that is what the moments asks for, and be true about everything that is on their mind. While Aries would like to have a certain goal and aim all its energy towards it, this energy seems to get bended here only to end up in a strange subconscious state where it is neither manifested nor used. This is a position that speaks of a past life that ended in aggression, in the army or from fire weapons, sharp objects, and most often “before one’s time.”
🌈The Twelfth House In Taurus
If the twelfth house is in the sign of Taurus, the mystery of the material world can remain a hidden for years, as well as hedonism and the chase for satisfaction in this material world. This is a position typical for those who have never felt real pleasure, and everyone with secret sexual encounters, or at least those who have the need to eat hidden from everyone else. Spirituality and real talents fall into the sign ruled by Venus, meaning creativity and inspiration come as a given, but only once they are discovered and approached studiously. True intimacy is found in secret bonds, and warmth will have to be built in solitude, realizing at first just how much we are worth and only later starting to search for someone who will recognize this. If one wants to make their dreams come true, this position is perfect, for it brings the Earth into our personal dreamland, making everything we imagine possible.
🌈The Twelfth House In Gemini
The twelfth house in Gemini isn’t very easy because of its Piscean nature and everything it has to do with emotion as an entity entirely apart from rational thought. Speech can be impaired, while those with lower self-esteem easily turn to gossip and matters that aren’t theirs to discuss to begin with. This is also a position that could give a wonderful talent for languages, words and writing. It is a shame to use it on other people and spend too much time thinking of their business, abilities and weaknesses. Those born with the twelfth house in Gemini must have ended their past life with a vast desire to speak their mind, share their inner truth, and express their personality in some way. Ties that get created here will manifest through strange friendships and their relationships with children, but most of the time, they will manifest through difficulties in their mind they cannot fully explain.
🌈The Twelfth House In Cancer
With the twelfth house in the sign of Cancer, you can see a family secret instantly, as well as the tendency to idealize one or both of the parents. This is a burden of an entire family tree and a mark that debts were left in spheres of the emotional and the fragile within. Strange matters are hiding in the twelfth house and when Cancer is here, you can see these strange matters in one’s home and intimate relationships. Depending on a very personal position of the Moon, we will see how well incorporated this can be in their everyday life and if disappointment is their family story or not. The emphasis on sensitive emotion is also seen here, and we will come to find that the twelfth house cusp in any Water sign gives one the ability to feel what others feel, often being unable to recognize where one person ends and their emotional body begins.
🌈The Twelfth House In Leo
When the twelfth house begins in Leo, the personality itself seems to be strange, sensitive, and unknown. These individuals will have to learn about their power and their inner truth, while they remain in the blurry waters hidden from plain sight. This is often a signal that previous life carried a story of success, and image that was maintained and remained important to the person until they died. It can be extremely rewarding if unconscious memories of it are pleasant and bring confidence and peace. However, if there was any dishonesty in their approach once upon a time, this will be the life to rectify it, accept the flaws in others, those we don’t want to see and don’t want to show, and find brothers and sisters in crime finally set free from self-criticism. Since the clear image of one’s Self is blurry, overall good of the mankind will be important to these people, as well as humanitarian efforts they often turn to at some point in their lives.
🌈The Twelfth House In Virgo
If the twelfth house is in Virgo, we can almost imagine the mechanism in a person’s mind making them seem stupid when they want to show how smart they are, and incredibly intelligent at the most unpredictable situations. They will rely on their brains while practical matters will keep some of their mystery at all times. Ties created here will have to do with old, used things, those that can or cannot be fixed. That halfway principle of Virgo can be quite difficult when we speak of someone’s twelfth house, for dreams tend to get crushed by reality, sensitivity by common sense, and vice versa. If a person with the twelfth house in Virgo wants to find happiness, they have to realize where their true talent lies, so they can use it and share it with the world. Very often their talents will be found in writing, detailed analysis or communication with the strangest of beings here on planet Earth.
🌈The Twelfth House In Libra
With the twelfth house in Libra it seems inevitable to lie or be lied to, and usually both. Still, if we put this aside, we can see the magical story of Libra in this mysterious house and realize that someone we once left behind is there for us to find them again in this life. Things that were lost in our twelfth house have a tendency to show themselves someday. This goes specifically for great loves, and with strongly set Venus, even greater loving relationships. If Venus is not that strong in this kind of horoscope, the obvious debt has to be repaid through emotional sacrifice of some kind. In most cases, this will develop through a romantic relationship in which the trust has been broken, finally liberating the person from unrealistic expectations. This is always someone talented to recognize beauty, often artistic and with a knack for drawing or music. However, they have to be very careful not to disrespect people around them in any way so that their personality has room to grow.
🌈The Twelfth House In Scorpio
The twelfth house in Scorpio is an interesting place. Something as taboo and as hidden as Scorpio rarely finds an appropriate secretive hideout, but this position allows them to. The most unfortunate thing here lies in one’s ability to bury their own feelings, doings, or aspirations, finally ending up without any awareness of their true inner light. This is the sign that speaks of our shadows and everything we want to bury and dismiss along the way, and when it is set in such a secretive house, shoving things under the rug becomes a routine. This can make these people explode in numerous ways, ending up in strange circumstances, weird conversations, interventions, institutions or even jail. To see the magic in Scorpio this person has to be truly and deeply open-minded, fully willing to accept the most devastating, darkest and most dangerous emotions they carry within.
🌈The Twelfth House In Sagittarius
When the twelfth house is set in Sagittarius, we usually see someone who has no idea where they are going. Being lost seems to be the congenital disease in these people and they have no way of knowing where they want to end up. Ties were made to the most distant of places, and past life regression could help them discover where they have lived and what makes them lose their place and their hopes. Beliefs have to be examined, as well as their religion views. Blessings will come from the most unexpected people and places, and although there are a lot of secrets to be expected in lives of others, these individuals are able to sense anyone’s goodness of heart from miles away. This is a very strong position for spiritual work and meditation, but if they don’t get enough sleep, they risk their entire life passing them by.
🌈The Twelfth House In Capricorn
With the twelfth house in Capricorn, there is no knowing which responsibility falls under whose jurisdiction. The difficulty of this setting hides in the inability to see that a strong foundation makes all the work, and while good ideas can come a long way, they aren’t easily materialized if hard work isn’t put in. Even though it might not seem like it, this is one of the most demanding positions in the twelfth house, for it speaks of karmic ties and our strong, physical connection to past life experiences. Strange things will manifest as circumstances that are hard to avoid or overcome, with many obstacles standing in one’s way towards liberation. If Saturn is strong in a person’s chart, there will be a sense of security, wisdom and unconscious power in doing the right thing, and that will become a wind in their sails and open them up for real inner experience of faith.
🌈The Twelfth House In Aquarius
The twelfth house in Aquarius speaks of a stressful death that happened in our past life. This is a place of stress and strange mental orientation, pulling strongly with its humane gravity and the unconscious need to set free, set apart from everyone else, and sink into all natural oppositions as if there was no other way. Mending the differences and finding middle ground seems distant and impossible to these individuals, as if they had a talent for true friendship, but lack of awareness for those who don’t fall into this category. They need to learn to be humane, so charity work will come in handy, especially if they are the secret benefactor nobody knows about. Their eccentricity will make them happy but in secret and in silence, with as little words said as possible. Even though they might be on the mission of solitude, they are often calmed by the peace of their marriage and relationships that represent a good basis for their personality rather than making them feel at home.
🌈The Twelfth House In Pisces
If the twelfth house is set in the sign of Pisces, all secrets will be sunk even deeper than in other cases. This practically means that all digging through subconscious matter will have to be thorough and results will seem more distant than those others tend to dig up. Usually, these individuals tend to look forwards, fully unaware of their dependencies and ties to the mysteries of their distant past. They will live their lives unaware of their own inner faith, needing healthy sleeping routine in order to stay in a calm and peaceful state. In many cases, these people will sleep every day for eight hours, avoiding late nights out or losing sleep over any burning issues at hand. They understand that the night is not to be messed with and hide from their own family in plain daylight. With true faith in the background, it would be good to raise awareness about their talents and their true life within, however scary that might seem.
CHIRON/LILITH/VERTEX/ASTEROİDS IN THE 12TH HOUSE 💐
💐Pallas in 12th House
Pallas Athena in the twelfth house indicates that you have the ability to tap the collective unconscious with your own creative intellect and to express this perception in an extremely gifted manner that provides healing and practical wisdom to others. Your understanding and use of symbolism (the language of the unconscious), archetypes, and myth is both profound yet practical. Because you have the ability to sway others, it is important for you to utilize these gifts in service rather than for self-gain. You may apply these skills in the service of socio-political causes, the healing of the Feminine, or psycho-spiritual wisdom. You may undergo privations (voluntary or imposed) in fulfilling your "call", seeking retreat or fasting in order to strengthen your subtle perceptions and inspiration, for example. Difficulty can arise if Pallas Athena's energy is expressed as a crusade in which your interpretation of reality and the collective mind is the only one, or the only one that matters.
💐Chiron in the 12th House
This shows your deepest wound residing in your psyche. Any placement in the 12th house is a very spiritual one, and those not on a spiritual path will feel 12th house energy in a ‘negative’ way because it is relentless in sending lessons our way until we learn them. This placement shows that you have difficulty opening yourself up to others, yet are extremely empathetic and desire to help those in need and often encourage others to share with you their problems so you can help. You may be fiercely private. You may have special psychic abilities. You may reject these abilities and deny them to much frustration. Chiron in the 12th will keep throwing difficulties your way in order to teach you lessons in acceptance and seeing the bigger picture. One may feel plagued, but the plague shall end when once simply accepts. Accept yourself, accept others, explore your own spirituality and find a path that suits you and walk it. Compassion is the necessity behind this house, and that means for yourself as well as for others.
💐Eros in the 12th House
The twelfth house is a place of mystery. Isabel Hickey called it the house of drawn shades, a region where we must serve or suffer. Traditionally it rules secret enemies, institutions such as prisons, hospitals and asylums and other places of generalized pain and suffering, hidden activities, exile and seclusion. Sometimes Eros here awakens through injury, suffering or confinement. The case of the doctor and patient, alcoholic and counselor, or even bereaved brother and widow come to mind. There can even be an erotic relationship between criminal and the officer of the law, as in the archetypal relationship between the brilliant detective Sherlock Holmes and his equally genius archenemy, Professor Moriarty. These kinds of unions make short work of the traditionally acceptable and they may embody an extreme bitterness, yet their potential for transform is infinite. The very taboo and suffering quality seems to make them all the more potent.
💐Juno in the 12th House
If you have Juno in the twelfth house you have an increase chance of divorce. Often you are "done in" somehow by your first marriage partner, (who often turns into an enemy). Quite simply, you do not make good choices when it comes to relationship partners because you are moved by strange compulsions from your subconscious. This leads you to have a very rocky love life. Yet another meaning of having Juno in the twelfth house is a life of restriction due to a partner that develops a disability or health problem that requires your constant care.
💐Vertex in the 12th House
If this rear position exists you need to work on: This house puts the focus on repressed agendas and restraint. You can learn much from the unconscious. There is a stimulation for you to be charitable. If you learn your lessons, past and present, you will easily move forward. The Twelfth House compels you to seek closure in a spiritual way as an aid to positive growth. Remember, Vertex in houses can offer clues to where we may experience turning points and meetings with destiny.
💐Ceres in the 12th House
Here Ceres thrives when she is nurturing others in need. This is where the native goes and volunteers at soup kitchens or travels abroad to third world countries to help those in need. Ceres here is devoted to making an impact, a change and she will not stop.
💐Vesta in the 12th House
Vesta in 12th house indicates an interest in hidden and mystical things. You want to understand the secrets of the universe and you often enjoy spiritual studies. You eagerly commit to ideals and want to be of service to the world. Vesta in 12th house suggests that you enjoy studying what interests you behind the scenes. You work the best on your own. This placement indicates that you need a lot of time for self-care, which is essential for your well-being.
💐Lilith in the 12th House
Lilith in 12th house is suppressed deep in the subconscious. It suggests an enhanced sensitivity and a need for introspection. It can go both ways: you are either fascinated by your unconscious, or you try to deny its existence. You can be afraid of the supernatural, but at the same time, you are more receptive to it than most people. You can be detached from reality, especially when under stress. Lilith in 12th house is prone to maladaptive daydreaming. At their worst, twelfth house placement can run away from problems.
12th house - The Secret Enemy you hide from Yourself
I have seen many people in the Astrology community confused about the idea of the 12th house being associated with one's "secret enemies". Often the misunderstanding is that all people who have their Sun or Moon in a sign, that you have on your 12th house cusp will become a "hidden enemy". Or there is a stereotype, that all hidden enemies will belong to a specific social group, for example for a Scorpio rising with Libra in the 12th house cusp every romantic partner will secretly be their enemy, or for a Capricorn Rising their teachers and gurus may become a hidden enemy.
In reality, this energy doesn't have to reflect directly through another person's one specific placement or be linked clearly to their role in your life, as in fact some people may have no planets falling in your 12th house at all, yet you might still experience this energy. The sign on the 12th house cusp describes the traits, that become your vices without you realising it consciously, because these things fall out of the sight of your ascendant, and thus take effort to grasp with your conscious mind. Often people embodying these traits are within your close circle, friends, partners, family members, because these people mirror this unconscious aspect of you back to yourself, so that you can integrate it and grow in self awareness.
For example, for a Libra Rising with Virgo on the 12th house cusp the trait that is secretly toxic to you is people trying to "fix you". A Libra Rising needs acceptance and harmony in relationships. Someone trying to help you with your healing or helping you process trauma is one thing, but people making you feel like you're inherently and irredeemably flawed is another. This disturbs the harmonising process a Libra Rising needs in their life for balance and peace, and takes away this element of companionship from any relationship.
I'm a Libra Rising in the sidereal zodiac and it always hurt me, how since childhood everyone in my environment tried to point out my flaws and superficial imperfections seemingly because they tried to "help", but instead it made me feel like faulty merchandise, and I felt criticised, which is very Virgo in nature, on the negative spectrum of this sign's energy. Truth is these people just had an issue because I was not fitting in with some mental concept they had, so they tried to bring me down under the guise of "fixing the problem". It had little to do with anyone actually wanting to help me, which I recognise easily as someone who actually heals others all the time both in work and personal life.
A "hidden enemy" for a Libra Rising may also have mercurial traits - play mind games, resort to deceit and trickery, hide vital pieces of information, try to manipulate the situation by making you feel "less than" instead of honestly and directly fixing a problem.
All these situations in a Libra Rising's life are a mirror of their own subconscious intense self criticism and desire to fit in and fulfill everyone's expectations. These situations are meant to teach them to scrutinize who they invite into their lives over going along to get along with everyone. A Libra Rising needs to develop unconditional self acceptance and self expression, even in the face of someone's disapproval, because they need to give themselves unconditional love for all their imperfections.
Let's look at the same scenario for a Scorpio Rising. With Libra on the 12th house cusp, these people's "secret enemies" may keep very close to them and be very sweet to their face, look polite and socially acceptable, yet backstab the Scorpio Rising while appearing completely innocent to their environment. This is a scenario, which very much plays in to the paranoid Scorpio nature of trusting no one due to bad experiences with people like that. In truth, it is a tactic to undermine the Scorpio Rising's power by destroying them from the inside with a pretty facade, because of how a Scorpio Rising is triggering to their environment. Libra on the 12th house cusp energy can poison the Scorpio Rising from the inside in one on one situations, which will weaken them into being unable to express their energy, that seems so scary to so many people, who don't want to face themselves.
The lesson of this placement is for a Scorpio Rising to come out of their shell and stand up for themselves openly and express their own power, desires and self assertion without hiding them. Only by direct confrontation you can actually call out the people in your life, who may have appeared sweet but turned out sour underneath. It is also a natural filter, for who is meant to be in your life. If someone leaves your life because you were honest about who you are, they didn't deserve you in the first place. By unashamedly radiating their controversial Mars - Pluto energy, a Scorpio Rising finds balance inside themselves, without having to subconsciously crave people, who superficially appear more balanced to "fill them up".
These examples are meant to show you, how in truth any "hidden enemy" energies coming into your life are an external representation of an aspect of your own internal disharmony. We are always our own worst enemy, secret or not, and we only heal that part of ourselves when we make friends with it instead of constantly looking for the source of the problem in people around us. As much as people need to be held accountable for being hurtful towards you, you need to take accountability for your own self destructive, subconscious pattern, that are steering your life until you get familiar with them.
Due to demand in the Astrology Communities where I shared this post, I added brief descriptions for other Rising Signs under the cut, Libra and Scorpio Rising have been explained above so I'm not including them. Please note, that any planets in your 12th house will exacerbate the situations described, and require that much more self awareness and healing.
Aries Rising - like with all Risings with the influence of Mars, there is an element of other people feeling intimidated by you due to Mars' confrontational nature. So with Pisces in the 12th, you can have people playing the martyr and the victim, while blowing your actions out of proportion due to Jupiter rulership and using their sensitivity and compassion to paint you as the bully. Like with Scorpio Rising, the lesson here is in direct confrontation, regardless of people's opinions. With this Rising, you just need to stay on track and keep going, and not let anyone suck you into useless conflict.
Taurus Rising - Hidden enemies can be people ruining your inner grounding and stability with violent actions. Venus ruled Risings need an element of harmony in their lives, and you may subconsciously attract people, that are unnecessarily aggressive, as per your perception, someone who you may feel attacks you without reason. In truth, it is the Universe's attempt at teaching you to ground yourself even amongst chaos. Life always has an element of unpredictability and violence, and with your life path you are supposed to be the grounding force, no matter what storms rage around you.
Gemini Rising - The energy you may be battling with is lack of flexibility. The Gemini Rising path is about mental exploration and versatility, and you may have people trying to hold you back through forcibly making you stuck in traditionalist patterns, or questioning your more adventurous ideas. The purpose behind it is to make you realise, that you need to be your own stabilising force, your own point of reference that you come back to, as you peruse the world endlessly like a never-ending story. Every book has a cover on both sides for a reason, and you need to be that framework for yourself, because only this will give you enough balance and freedom to both stay sane and be able to wander wherever your spirit calls you.
Cancer Rising - Like with Libra Rising, the Mercurial energy on your 12th house cusp may attempt to upset your balance by playing mind games. This is detrimental to your inner sense of safety and natural emotional compass, that guides you through life. People in this energy may try to undermine your feelings or impressions and point out logical inconsistencies, destabilising you and then calling it a "joke". There is a chaos and inconsistency, that throws you off course. However, the point of this exercise is to make you trust your intuition and your gut feeling unconditionally, no matter what people say. Also, it mirrors back the harsh truth, that your moods can be pretty changeable too, and that flexibility is an important element in life. You only get to certain places, when you're pushed out of your comfort zone.
Leo Rising - With Cancer ruling the 12th house cusp, you may have people try to keep you forcibly attached to them, manipulate you emotionally, guilt trip you, demand your care and emotional attention excessively, which stops you from focusing on shining through your own life path. The key is to realise you're a bright light just by being yourself and you can't cater to everyone, and when you let people overindulge in your energy they will take advantage of you. Leo needs that external approval, but they need to focus on the fact that their shine comes from within, not from the outside.
Virgo Rising - You may struggle with people, who you feel are less competent than you, yet stronger in their ego and thus prone to what you feel is bossing you around with no practical advantage to back that up. The idea here is to show you, how much deep down you doubt your own skill and charisma and how much you rely on external validation to believe in your own usefulness and competence. These people exist to show you, that you yourself also have a unique shine, and you have the right to express it both in work and in private life, and it's not about perfection, but authenticity. Other people expressing themselves freely are not a threat, but a reminder that you could be doing the same anytime, if only you wanted to.
Sagittarius Rising - The hidden enemy is someone, that you don't see coming, but will make you trip with a precise hit mid-stride, just as you were about to climb the highest mountain, and the fall to the bottom will be painful. These situations are not meant to destroy you or even bring you back down to earth, but to make you ask yourself, where you are running and what for. Your endless journey can easily become a chase towards nothing, if you don't remember the goal. Scorpio in the 12th house has the utmost depth of spiritual meaning within. You need to reconnect with this part of yourself as you continue on your path, or little jabs here and there will make you question your direction and purpose.
Capricorn Rising - You may be secretly annoyed with people, that you can't place or define. People, who don't operate within any system, don't stick to a single, clear path. In truth, you are denying the part of yourself, that is immortal, chaotic and uncontrollable, because you are scared it will go out of bounds and mess up your grand plan. These people externally exist as a mirror, so that you can realise that there is order and beauty in chaos, and everything can be put to good use if you want to, because the Creator made everything perfect, even the parts that escape being controlled.
Aquarius Rising - A strong psychological aversion towards structures. The energy of lack of progress, being stuck with the same, outdated rigid values and principles, values that don't work for people anymore but are kept with no apparent purpose because "that's how things always were". This traditionalist streak exists to show you, how badly you yourself need systems in your life. First, you need old paradigms, so that you have something to rebel against. Then, your plan is simply to install a new paradigm. Your new paradigm will become outdated one day as well. This rising needs to learn, that you will be tomorrow, what people of yesterday are to you right now. Perception is relative. During any timeline systems exist for a reason.
Pisces Rising - This pertains to this Rising feeling "different", out of this world, or like an outcast. People, who belong to organised social structures may be perceived as a threat to the boundless freedom that you crave, you may feel that they are trying to confine and restrict you. These situations only exist to make you realise, how deeply you want to be a part of something bigger on this planet, how much your soul craves that connection to a greater physical life force outside of yourself. Don't be afraid to remain your dreamy self, but believe that you can meet those, with whom you will belong in this lifetime. Being with them will give you a sense of freedom, not oppression.
(this can apply to both tropical and vedic placement of 12th house because regardless of the system employed, the energy felt and experienced is the same :-)
Most people have a lot of prejudice about the 12h and its energies. There is a largely negative portrayal of it in the mainstream astro community and very little nuanced discussion of the same. So, I thought I'd make a post exploring the 12th and final house in astrology and add more to the existing narrative regarding it.
The 12h is commonly described as the house of loss, liberation, isolation and decline
This house is said to governs misery, waste, expenses as well as divine knowledge, sympathy, Moksha (final emancipation) and life after death. It is also the house of detachment.
Now those are a lot of very contradictory terms. How could a house govern both loss and divine knowledge?
The 12th house and water houses (4h, 8h & 12h) in general are very complex and easily misunderstood. The thing about water is that it has no shape or form of its own, it takes the form of whatever vessel its poured into. another thing about water is that its the most easily polluted element. Water energy is one that must be precariously balanced because these natives easily absorb the influence of others (good or bad), this is one reason why the 12h is the house of "loss" because it truly is the death of the individual. you know those quotes about "i am an amalgamation of every person ive met, every book ive read, every song i loved...." 12housers are actually built like that.
being a 12h native can be rewarding because you absorb absolutely everything like a cosmic sponge but on the other hand, its very easy to lose all sense of self.
especially natives with 12h stelliums may often find it difficult to not take everything so personally. this is not because they think the world revolves around them but because its hard for them to separate themselves from others and their actions. they're personally of the type where everything they say or do is tailored specifically to the person they're interacting with. they may not even be aware that they're doing this, they pick up on energies almost by osmosis and guide their conduct that way. however they must realize that this is peculiar to them and is not something others are naturally accustomed to doing.
there is a reason why Venus exalts in the 12h. you lose all sense of self and give yourself completely to your lover with utmost devotion. love is sacred and profound to them, they will do absolutely anything for their love. which is why they have to be so careful with picking their partners. they have limitless capacity for giving but if you give to the wrong person, you'll be drained. when you merge with the right person, your cup never goes empty with your giving because your union satiates you completely.
if we were to think of houses 1 to 11 as a path of linear development, starting with the 1st house of self & identity and ending with the 11th house of friendship, community & legacy, then we will understand that after an individual goes through all these stages, the only thing left for them to do is seek liberation from this cycle; this is why 12h is the house of Moksha. once you've fulfilled your material desires, you will feel a lack in your life and the only thing left to do is pursue the path of spirituality. Moksha is however not given to one; one must strive for it.
this journey is a deeply personal one and liberation from one's ego and earthly pursuits is far from easy. no matter what these natives do, ultimately, they wont feel satisfied unless they've nourished themselves spiritually.
sometimes these natives may indulge in drugs or other substances to fill the void but as they evolve they will understand what theyre truly yearning for is the spiritual truth.
more often than not, these natives experience "spiritual awakenings" completely unprompted. god decides its time and it happens. much of their early life can be very dark and this "awakening" marks the beginning of a shift in their life. this happens in stages depending on the level of their spiritual evolution.
the 12th house is the house of isolation because what these natives experience is not something that others can understand easily. they are the most likely to develop psychosomatic conditions, simply because their energetic body is so susceptible to influence.
think of the vast endless ocean. can one individual possibly drink up all of that water? its absurd to even consider it. thats kind of what its like to be a 12h native. there's a limitless reservoir to tap into, the energy is so vast that its confusing and disorienting and you have no idea what to do with it. its very easy to be misguided as well. this is why its the house of decline. you have to constantly be on the look out in order to avoid the pitfalls, otherwise its easy to stagnate and easy to harm yourself.
There is a Latin quote that goes as follows:
"What nourishes me, destroys me"
This sums up 12th house energy pretty much. Its the energy of opposites and paradoxes. You need this endless reservoir to function, its the thing that feeds you but if you're not careful, it can also lead you to your own ruin.
Fun fact: Angelina Jolie has this quote tattooed on her. She is a Revati Moon. Pisces occupies the 12th house.
remember that Pisces' symbol is of two fishes swimming in opposite directions. this shows that the innate nature of these natives is to be torn between polarising energies and opposing forces. it is a balancing act to say the least.
these natives are easily misunderstood, simply because there is SO much to them. whatever you think they are, thats what they're not.
going back to the cosmic ocean metaphor, its easy to see how such abundance can feel like an excess and lead to misery and wastefulness. its simply a LOT to handle, not just for others but even for these natives themselves. this is one reason why so many of these natives tend to keep to themselves.
even the more sociable 12h natives often have an interior life that no one will know about, they have a whole another side to them that they keep separate, just because they want to assert complete ownership of this private side as something that belongs only to them and the other, more "public" side that they give to others.
these natives are the most empathetic and if you look at the charts of most "legendary" actors, they'll either have pisces/12h luminaries. empathy does not quite cut it, they can not only feel what others are feeling but embody it fully and experience it as their own. this is what makes them incredible actors. even non-actor 12h natives process things this way and often find that others around them are insensitive or lacking the same capacity. they do not understand why others don't feel as deeply as they do or understand situations the way they do. they find society at large to be very callous and apathetic.
a 12th house native is also capable of feeling apathy and absolute indifference but this is very selective; the 12h is the house of detachment because as it is, they're tethered to the world by a thin cord and are only very mildly connected to things. they're in this world but seldom inhabit it. another side to this is that they're wildly imaginative. although mercury debilitates in the 12h, it does not affect the native too badly, as they simply channel their thoughts into other forms. they are gifted at communicating abstract ideas and make excellent artists due to the same reason. robbed of any sense of what is "practical" or "realistic", they roam free in the realm of the mind. many abstract, surrealist and expressionist artists have either Pisces or other water sign placements in their big 3.
these natives live a life of non-being, as they're already so detached from everything, including themselves; this is not negative on its own and will manifest differently for different individuals; this can mean that they're extremely empathetic or detached to the point of inaction and passivity in extreme cases; they dont find a lot of things to be meaningful and its hard for them to apply themselves because of it. this gives us a glimpse of what life is like after death.
the 12th house also represents spirituality, introspection, foreign travels, hidden enemies, & the subconscious mind and it is the house of endings and undoing.
12th house natives are always intrigued by all things foreign, they feel like they do not belong to the place they're from and feel connected to cultures and people that are foreign to them. since they themselves feel like an alien or are made to feel that way, they feel naturally at ease in foreign places and cultures where everything is alien. they often settle overseas.
these natives court attention wherever they go, because the 12h energy is a very distinct and potent one. a lot of celebrities have it and its a very common fame indicator. due to this reason, they also attract enemies who remain unknown to them. these natives are seldom if ever, engaged in actual feuds with people and if they are, its usually for righteous reasons or because the other person started it. theyre wayyyy too peace loving and lowkey to pick fights with others. this is why they dont know who is speaking ill of them behind their back. they're always minding their own business and it surprises them that others are not doing the same.
everybody is guided by their subconscious and one major part of spirituality is to try and make ourselves more conscious. 12h representing spirituality (the cosmic ocean) makes even more sense considering its opposite (2 fishes swimming in opposite directions) which is the unknown, the subconscious. to be spiritual means to seek truth and to seek answers and swim towards the subconscious to shed light to it and understand it better.
lastly, it is the house of endings and undoing. 12h being the final concluding house represents the end of the cycle. when a cycle ends, the energy is of a complete transformation. only when something has reached completion can it come to an end. the butterfly does not emerge unformed but as a completely fully formed butterfly. the end marks the beginning. the 12h gives way to the 1h.
the creature in the cocoon was not a butterfly. it only became a butterfly when it emerged from the cocoon and to do so means loss of an old identity, loss of self, loss of all that you've ever known. this is your undoing. in order to become somebody else, in order to ascend, we have to be willing to undo ourselves. this is essential to any spiritual practice. we have to rid ourselves and our flimsy shell of identity in order to grow further.
for the same reason, 12housers are constantly transforming. they're the type of people who seem to have lived 10 different lives in one. be it their style, lifestyles, jobs, you name it, they're constantly undoing and transforming themselves. it seems to be the only way they know how to live. once theyve gathered all they can at one place, they outgrow it and change themselves almost entirely afterwards as they venture into something new.
thats it for now. i hope this shed some light on the 12h condition hehe<333
