“You’ll have to do better than that!”
This was a test of loyalty, one thing that she had never known about. No one was loyal - at least, not to her. Her parents - if they could even be called that - were n e v e r there. A deal was made and Isadora was forced to participate ; become a death eater and we won’t marry you off. become a death eater and you will get your freedom. She just never imagined freedom tasting so BITTER. Because damn it, her mask was itchy and it didn’t seem worth it anymore. “LISTEN TO ME. I don’t want to hurt you, but we need answers. The sooner you give them, the sooner you’ll be let go. I promise.” But, well, Isadora had always been shitty with promises.
IF THERE WAS ONE THING HER GRANDMOTHER HAD TAUGHT HER, it was how to appear fearless. Though Rhea worried about how long her grandmother could hold her own against the brigade of Death Eaters, her face remained stoic. Though the screams of tortured students in other rooms pounded against her eardrums, making nausea build in her throat, her shoulders remained relaxed. Though she feared for her friends’ lives, she showed no outward signs of fear or discomfort. ( Even if it ended up being the last thing she did, she would make sure that the Death Eaters believed she wasn’t afraid of them. ) Meeting the Death Eater’s eyes head on, she simply quirked an eyebrow, leaning back against the wall. “I’m not going to talk, and I doubt your buddy over there will be too pleased if you do nothing,” she said, nodding at the older Death Eater, “so why don’t you just get on with it?? Make it worth our time.”
