[ … ] ❀ you’re not from around here , are you? i figured because you totally just missed { rhodes shephard } walking by. don’t tell me you don’t know who { he/him } is/are ? they kind of look like { tom blyth } and i could be wrong but i think that they might be { thirty one } years old right now. they’ve been living in palmview for the last { four years }. and i don’t know if anyone has ever told them this before but they kind of remind me of { fred jones } from { scooby doo }. if you stick around the town long enough you might catch them in action working at { - } as a { small business owner/entrepreneur }. you see this town isn’t really that big of a place, some folks like to call them the { dreamer } of palmview! they took a liking to the name too after a while, go figure. oh crap, they must have heard me yapping. they’re coming this way. i got to warn you though, rumor has it they can pretty { impulsive } at times. i wouldn’t take it too seriously though, from the times i’ve spoken to them they seemed pretty { resourceful } to me. we see each other all the time since they live in that { three bedroom } apartment beside me over in { coral cove }. i better leave you to it. it was nice meeting you!  { jules. 27. she/her. central. }

with high pressures and a need to succeed, rhodes grew up with the aim of impressing his father. he was trying to consistently make the grades, thrive in all the sports, and somehow still make time for extracurriculars and internships galore.

along with the need to succeed, rhodes is a huge dreamer. growing up he dreamed of starting his own thing, fully his. starting out, he learns as much as he can from his father all while keeping a safe distance as well. while rhodes strived for his father's approval, it also made him feel like he was drowning to keep up with everything.

rhodes' first start up is a luxury rental company (think airbnb for rich people) and much to his surprise, it thrives. currently, there are over 75 luxury rentals around palmview and a 26 in naples. he has been able to hire on a whole property management team to manage the homes so he is able to worry less about the whole thing.

he is currently working to start two more start ups around palmview and is always dreaming of the next thing before he even finishes with the thing he's working on.

he's extremely charming and can make friends with just about anyone.

messy sheets, limbs tangled together, and a pounding head. scenes from the night before, blurrily replayed in rhodes' mind as he slowly started to wake up. holy shit, who the fuck was blowing up his phone right now ?? cracking open his eyes, he felt for his phone, picking it up and not seeing a single notification. the buzzing continued and he glanced over to the other nightstand, watching emma's phone light up repeatedly. gently, he nudged the girl, humming softly. "hmm hey, your phone keeps goin off.." he mumbled, laying his head back down on the pillow.

by now, waking up to rhodes in his bed is more entertaining than unexpected. for two people who claim to despise each other, it sure seems to happen semi-regularly. " figures, " kingsley mutters to himself as he pushes into a seated position, giving rhodes a nudge as a smug smirk awakens sleepy features. rhodes rolled onto his stomach, pulling the covers over his head as a soft groan slipped past his lips. "fuck you." he mumbled, keeping his eyes shut. "just like you to drag me out of a nice dream too." huffing, rhodes pulled the blanket back down, but only to his chin, poking one eye open at the other. this was becoming way too regularly. deep down, rhodes wasn't complaining about it though. "gonna keep staring at me or you gonna make me a coffee and send me on my way ??" rhodes finally pushed himself to sit up, glancing over at the other.

"no, YOU just got here, from god knows where," apollo snaps, taking a step back. this is why apollo should not leave his apartment, because, well, he's not pleasant. to say rhodes was taken aback would be an understatement. in that moment, it was like he was a kid again being scolded by his parents. his stomach felt warm and he wasn't sure how to take the words or more how to respond to the words coming out of his best friend's mouth. "...you dont mean that.." he mumbled, hands going behind his back.

ronen has been all over the beach party, and yet it's only now he spots his roommate-- well, that is roommate spots him. and, everyone in the vicinity knew as well. "HEY, BUDDY!" he gives his roommate a matching smile and wave before motioning to his hand. "you've still got the mic, roe."

"oh, would you look at that." he speaks directly into the microphone, huge grin on his lips. and just like that, someone from the direction rhodes just came from came to snatch the mic out of his hand. "well how fuckin rude." rhodes laughed softly, shaking his head. "where the fuck have you been, loverboy ??"

“  careful  what  you  wish  for,  hotstuff,  ”  emma  warns,  although  it  comes  out  as  nothing  more  than  just  a  playful  jest.  for  the  most  part  she  knows  she  does  a  great  fuckin'  job  at  being  a  distraction,  even  if  rhodes  didn't  even  need  one  in  the  first  place;  emma  couldn't  help  the  smirk  on  her  face  when  she  heard  his  question.  “  you're  already  thinking  about  a  second  round  or  something  ?  ”  then  a  beat,  “  well,  a  man  who  knows  what  he  wants  and  knows  how  to  get  it,  that's  so  fuckin'  hot.  ”  with  that  being  said,  she  laughs  and  slowly  gets  away  from  rhodes,  finally  giving  him  some  space  after  what  feels  like  forever  now.  “  sure,  come  find  me  whenever  then.  ”

——some time had passed between their last interaction. rhodes had made a few people mad and a few more bad decisions before he started to make his way out. he hadn't made it but a few feet when he thought about his earlier comments. he wasn't even sure if emma was around anymore, but he definitely couldn't get his mind off the way her mouth felt on his. and there she was again. for a brief moment, rhodes thought maybe he had accidentally called her instead of the thought staying in his mind. rhodes made his way over to her, the corner of his lips twitching up in a smile. "i didn't think you'd still be here.." he spoke honestly, a soft chuckle spilling past his lips.

rhodes chuckled softly, taking a small sip of the water. "yeah, yeah. i think i was just like.. there were a lot of people in there." he nodded softly, one hand resting on the sand. biting down on his lips, rhodes ran his fingers through the sand, choosing to keep his eyes there.

he listened as the other spoke, his breathing becoming more relaxed as they sat there. "oh definitely. isn't it funny how something that can calm things down just by the way it sounds also cause the most chaos if it really wants to ??" he glanced up at the other, small smile on his lips before he took another sip of the water. "yanno, you don't have to sit with me. you're welcome to head back in. I'll make sure i drink all this and.. maybe not drink anymore." rhodes laughed, shrugging his shoulders.

it  almost  feels  like  they  are  in  their  own  world  at  this  party,  too  busy  enjoying  the  taste  of  each  other's  lips  to  even  care  about  anything  else  right  now.  when  she  feels  his  hands  grabbing  on  her  hips,  emma  presses  her  body  against  his,  their  kiss  becoming  more  heated  and  passionate  as  they  keep  going.  if  emma  was  to  be  honest,  she  doesn't  really  want  this  to  end,  already  feeling  intoxicated  with  every  kiss  and  touch.  when  rhodes  suddenly  pulls  away,  she  looks  up  at  him,  his  words  manage  to  make  her  laugh.  “  well,  good  luck  on  remembering  whatever  that  is,  ”  emma  teases,  a  sneaky  smile  on  her  face.  “  i'm  not  really  that  sorry  for  distracting  you  though,  ”  then  a  soft  kiss  on  his  cheek,  “  guess  you  got  somewhere  else  to  be  then  ?  ”  she  keeps  her  gaze  on  rhodes,  smiling  gently  at  him.

"hmm, i think i do, but i will gladly come find you after if that's something you'd be into ?"

stepping away from the crowd for a moment of quiet , that's when chocolate hues find the other a little worse for wear . she'll squat down so that she's eye level with the other , making sure they were truly okay before a hand lifts to caress their cheek as if to guide their gaze towards her . his head was throbbing at this point. rhodes took a seat on the sand, letting out a soft breath. "fuck." he was not feeling too hot. maybe he was just overheated ?? yeah, that had to be it. the heat from the crowd was making him hot and he just needed to cool down. it totally wasn't the copious amount of alcohol he had consumed tonight. he thought for sure sitting closer to the water where there was more wind would help.

closing his eyes, he tried to focus on the sound of the waves and not the booming music behind him. thats when he felt a hand press to his cheek. "hmm.." he mumbled, leaning into it and finally looking up at the other. "oh, you don't have to-.." he started, "thank you." rhodes nodded softly, taking the water from the other.

hadley laughed, shaking her head at rhodes’ exaggerated claim. " oh, absolutely, you’re clearly the chosen one of the party committee,” she teased, nudging him back. “ i’m sure they had a special ceremony to bestow that title upon you, right? and keeping things light? you’re nailing it, no doubt. just try not to get too tangled up in your own party legend—maybe a glass of water would help clear up the cloudiness from all that ‘official’ party wisdom.”

she leaned in closer, her smile widening as she caught his slurred attempt at being cool and collected. “ seriously though, you’re definitely entertaining. just don’t forget to enjoy the party yourself amidst all this ‘official’ business. we wouldn’t want the life of the party to miss out on all the fun, would we?”

there was a bright grin on his face. "you're so fuckin mean to me." he teased. "they definitely gave me a tiara and sceptre too.. don't believe me ?? i'm gonna banish you from party town, miss monroe." she was definitely right. he probably could use a glass of water. knowing himself, if he left, he would not be grabbing a water and he would not be back even if he had the full intention of doing both.

rhodes linked his arm with hadley's. "mmm, yeah.. whatever you say, sunshine. tell me.. are we swimming or for sure heading to the bonfire ?"

emma  has  long  forgotten  where  they  are  right  now,  so  caught  up  with  rhodes'  charms  at  the  moment  to  even  care  if  people  are  looking.  hell,  that  shit  never  really  bothered  her  before,  it  surely  doesn't  bother  her  now.  she  couldn't  help  but  smile  when  she  feels  his  thumb  against  her  bottom  lip,  his  words  manage  to  get  a  chuckle  out  of  her  before  their  lips  find  each  other  again.  arms  moving  to  wrap  around  his  neck  now,  she  pulls  him  closer  and  deepens  the  kiss,  only  stopping  when  she  needs  to  catch  a  breath.  “  well,  fuck.  that  was  kinda  hot,  ”  emma  mutters,  leaning  in  to  kiss  rhodes  again.

he's officially lost track of time. what was a quick trip to the bar to pick up more drinks for himself and a friend was now completely, yet somehow still unintentionally, ditching said friend for a quick make out session with emma. the two seemed to synch up, only stopping to catch their breath when they really needed to. even then, rhodes was still planting soft kisses to her jaw, stupid conversations exchanged between kisses.

he let his hands wander back down to her hips, pulling her even closer as the kiss continued to deepen. should they be making out right here ?? probably not. was he thoroughly enjoying this though ?? absolutely. "hmm, wait, fuck.." he mumbled against her lips before pulling back slightly. rhodes was fully in a daze, lips slightly swollen and eyes still on emma. "i was totally doing something before i came over here." he laughed softly. "you're making it extremely hard to remember what exactly."

" and here you go again, turning a simple walk to the bonfire into a full-blown prediction game. i have to admit, you do make everything more entertaining, rhodes. "

her gaze softened as she looked past him toward the glowing bonfire, imagining the inevitable chaos he had alluded to. " i'll take that bet. " she said with a confident nod, her excitement bubbling up. " i'm sure we'll see something crazy before we even get halfway there. especially with you around to stir things up. but honestly, that's part of the fun. as long as we're together, then i'm very much ready for whatever this night throws at us. "

rhodes gasped and placed a hand over his heart. "oh i know i am.. it was bestowed upon me by the..." he really tried to think on this one, alcohol really clouding his thoughts, "party.. committee ?? whoever the fuck invented parties.. they told me so." his grin was bright, his thoughts not so bright. rhodes playfully bumped his hip into hadley's, shrugging his shoulders. "i've gotta keep things light and entertaining, yanno ?? people are too serious."

the brunette faked shock and laughed softly. "you are fuckin on one tonight." he teased. "when have i ever proved that, ma'am ?! i am nothin but cool, calm, and collected. always am." he hummed. big talk coming from a man who couldn't help but slur every few words.

emma  knows  she's  not  tipsy  enough  to  be  making  bad  decisions  right  now,  but  when  has  that  ever  stopped  her  anyways  ?  not  when  she  could  feel  rhodes'  hot  breath  on  her  skin  like  this,  his  lips  practically  hovering  against  hers,  as  if  done  on  purpose  to  tease  her.  well,  now  that  they  are  mere  inches  from  each  other  they  might  as  well  just  keep  it  going  ⸻  another  hand  slides  up  so  she  could  hold  his  face  with  both  hands  now,  catches  herself  smiling  against  his  lips  for  a  moment.  “  you're  so  fuckin'  bad,  ”  emma  purrs,  finally  closing  the  gap  between  them  with  a  kiss,  slow  and  gentle,  before  she  pulls  away  to  look  at  rhodes.  “  do  you  believe  me  now  ?  ”  emma  asks,  rubbing  her  thumbs  softly  against  his  skin.  “  or  is  that  not enough  for  you  ?  ”

there's a small smile on his lips when emma closes the distance between them fully and kisses him. when she pulls away, there's a small smirk on his lips and his eyes don't leave hers. "i could believe you.." he started, bringing his hand up to run his thumb along her bottom lip. "or i could say that definitely wasn't enough. means i get to keep your pretty lips on mine, yeah ??" there's almost a rush coursing through him as he leans in to press his lips back against hers. he doesn't care what this means. he doesn't care the outcome or concequences, right now he just needs whatever the hell this is.
