Dimension 20: City Council of Darkness - “An Undead Denouement”
Wouldst thou like to live deliciously?
"O-Olek-" a slip in his demeanour, in their roleplay, as the other explored his manifesting erection. Oh dear. This naughty kitty was a force that could not be stopped. And he was not a force Tangguo wanted to stop, either.
He sighed in pleasure, head falling back, sinking into the chair, into Olek's mouth. He straightening himself just long enough to set his tea down, too worried about spilling it on his poor lover's head to be willing to keep drinking.
Besides, now that his hands were both free, he could reach for the other. One hand smoothed up into the other's hair, finding a deep, solid grasp on strands, as the other scratched what he could reach of his shoulders and spine.
"My master treats me too well..."
Had Olek been adamant about their little game, he would have insisted Tangguo continue to drink until reaching the bottom of his cup. To finish his breakfast in front of him until his plates and bowls were clean, or until he gave his lover what he wanted down his throat.
But this was an impatient morning, and those little noises from Tangguo's throat were too irresistible to punish him. Purring was the most appropriate noise, but withheld, only with the concern that he would overwhelm his lover. As if his long fingers fondling his scrotum wasn't too much already.
hey so it didn’t get better btw i just learned how to live like this
Random Facts: A Loving Guildias Rant (& Maximus)
Guildias is hand’s down my oldest character, and one of my favorite creations. Written on a character sheet all the way back in high school (freshmen year, 2002). He originally had only one sibling, Gabriel, and a son named Sebastian. He has always been of the Setite clan, and I still have the original photo which I based his look. I’ll show it down below. (The green artwork. Wish I could find the artist. I’ve kept it for I think 20 years now.)
Unlike anyone else I have created, (short of Maximus, and I’ll explain later,) finding an FC for Guildias had been especially difficult. I didn’t want to budge from his original look/idea. A man towering 6′5″, medium frame, long midnight hair, warm olive skin kept after his Embrace, happy trail, whiskey-brown eyes, long sharp nose, and serpent-like movement.
For years, I kept only these photos as reference, while everyone else had an established FC. Writing partners would have to, like with a book, just use their imagination on Guildias. I really wanted to find someone, and finally landed on Santiago Cabrera. Now, the man is not the perfect find as far as every last detail. What sold me was his role in Heroes, mostly for the somewhat acceptable length of his hair, but what solidified him for me was actually his mannerisms.
I compiled some examples here.
The Maximus Story
I mentioned Maximus before, because for years I wanted a butler-type character. He became this secret character I kept to my thoughts, and I pushed some of that idea onto Lawrence Atlas, before he became his own fleshed out character, independent of the concept. Once more, a lovely piece of art was all I had, and I wouldn’t budge. With what happened to Guildias, I wanted this character to be spot on, and I wasn’t going to flesh him out until I found what I was looking for.
The Violin Student by Stephen Seymour Thomas, my inspiration.
And then, I watched the first Downton Abbey movie in theaters, without having ever seen the show. And there he was. I had to be sure, so I went home and started watching from episode one. Unlike Guildias, where I had to settle on mostly mannerisms, there Maximus was. Moving, talking, dressed exactly as I had imagined! Down to his hair and eyes!
I can hardly put into words how satisfying it was to happen upon this fantastic actor. And what’s funny to me is I had already seen him in The Ritual on Netflix, and he hadn’t jumped out at me then, because he looked so damn different.

Night of the Creeps (1986)
Ximun could only laugh again, this time more softly, and only for a few beats. A hand rose to swat the butterfly - ever so slow, of course no true intent. But it made the small thing pick itself up in flight. She landed right on Fletcher's head.
"Careful, there's a poisonous bug on ya. I'll get my gun." but the pretty thing was quick to jump up again, and this time transformed in a burst of light and wings that seemed to disappear like smoke.
Pinpirin's smile was bright, she jumped happily and went to hug Fletcher, wrapping arms around him with no warning and no thought that he might not want a hug while on the job. It was hardly for a second, she was soon pulling back.
"What're you doing you freak of nature?" a gentle tease, full of love, no different from an older sibling.
"I wasn't sure-sure who it was so I felt a little-little nervous. Hi-hi, Fletcher! Is today busy?" asked as she fidgeted with her dress, not so different from the day they met, only this time with more florals and ribbons, and in a pastel pink.
Who would have thought. A mage managed to make the roach laugh. This day wasn't so bad, and didn't seem like it was about to go downhill.
If his mother could see this nonsense now. Not especially a butterfly partially blinding him like an opalescent flash grenade. It didn't register to him, this instinct to wrap his arm around her waist, embracing, well, the embrace, and dropped as soon as she released him.
"Busy enough. Shop's closed when I'm gone. How far's the treehouse from here?" He couldn't imagine her tearing her pretty dress climbing up a treehouse ladder, but he expected his expectations to be subverted.
"Really? Why am I gold?" Olek's touch was grounding. It stopped him from floating into the abyss of his thoughts. "Red is a lucky colour in China. If we get married, I will wear red, there will be red everywhere." that said, if what he'd seen had been mostly white with just the leaves red, that was a different story. But these details were too much for the spider to think of right now.
He stopped as the other did, watching him dig into his pocket. His gaze softened at the sight of his tie. He suddenly felt terribly selfish. He should not be acting this way...
"Allow me." he reached for it, wanting to help his lover in return.
"Tangguo has always been gold," he said to the sidewalk. And then it struck him, like a flower thrown directly at his face. If we get married. So casually offered it bordered on beautifully obscene.
"I wish I could see it. This red. It sounds both beautiful and unpleasant."
The tie was relinquished without question. A soft seersucker creation made in haste. For Tangguo, he stood straight and proper, chin raised to accommodate.
Tangguo took a deep breath, allowing eyes to close as Olek worked on him. For a moment he lingered in the calming expanse, the endless nothingness behind his eyelids that called to him. When he managed to find the will to look again, he first scanned his little kitty's face. Taller than him, but little nonetheless. He wanted to understand Olek's expression, understand how he felt, finding Tangguo looking like that.
When he finally looked down, he was momentarily stunned. Momentarily, he forgot why they were still standing here and not already curled up together somewhere. "Oh, it's beautiful, Olek, thank you," fingers ran down the clothing, feeling over the details. "Alright, let's go." his hand slipped around Olek's elbow. "Did you make this yourself?"
Behind mossy eyes was caution, love, concern, and buried by the second was quiet, unspoken contempt. Anger would do nothing but sour Tangguo's recovery. He could be nothing if not himself, true and gentle for as far as the thread would pull.
Reaching the sidewalk, his hand came to rest on Tangguo's forearm.
"Mm. I saw it on a man, once. The shape. It was pretty, white and red, I think? I thought, 'This is perfect for Tangguo, but Tangguo is gold.'" He glanced to his current clothing. Without his tie, he felt wholly underdressed. Tangguo deserved better. As they reached the crosswalk, he felt in his pocket for his tie.
Olek was right. Even if his clothes looked perfectly respectable, he felt horrid. He felt... well... he felt like someone who had just found someone they loved drowning and gagging on their own blood after slitting their throat. If only that could be a mere metaphor.
The familiar nodded, weak and aimless. The other could turn him into a modern clown, he didn't think he'd find it in himself to care.
"Of course."
Their time was precious and limited. With only a quick consideration for what he was wearing, and if such incident might happen again before midnight, Olek set to work altering his lover's clothes nothing with more than his touch. Something simple, elegant, and still spoke in some measure to Tangguo's style. Black, in this instance, felt appropriate, with a hint of color across his chest by way of golden bamboo leaves. Something he had been painting at home before their separation. What had been meant as a gift to Tangguo, now worn like embroidery.
"Let's go get a drink." The drink didn't matter. The place didn't matter. Only getting out of the house, escaping for a moment, this mattered. It mattered more than anything else today. He even offered his arm for the taking.
