I’m trying to piece together some ideas into words. There are a few things on my mind currently: I still feel that I am in flux.
General things:
I want to start hiking on the regular especially as it gets colder.
I want to learn to swim.
I want to go to South America in December – I had been fixed on Colombia but I looked at the Amazon today.
Things feel increasingly stagnant but also possible…

September 30: Return to the intraweb
Today marks the end of a two year span where I lived without internet (but did maintain a data plan). Effectively, this made me more conscious of how I spend my screen time, scroll time, and why. The big reveal is that screen time is generally spent in search of self-gratification. I was more likely to get my butt off to work, the field, a library or a cafe to actually get shit done. While,…

I just came across this quote, "The first solid to form is generally the least favoured thermodynamically, a phenomenon described as Ostwald's rule of stages" (Martin et al, Harvard U). I always find that first step towards any sort of progress is the hardest. All subsequent steps are so much easier, and then a pattern emerges. Baby steps!

I've been prepping this space full of spare props and it's found its first borrower. #rhoga http://ift.tt/2iTa530
By the end of the first week of 2017, I as hoping to have made some reservations and moving towards the year with all the gusto and positivity I had last year - but all I got is this lasagna. #rhoga http://ift.tt/2j6BJqL

Hello! I am hoping to arrange a class once a week for six weeks that will best suit your schedules. If you are interested in weekly classes with me, please private message me or e-mail me at [email protected] with 'Yoga classes' in the subject line the latest by Thursday, June 2. The classes will begin with an Introduction to basic poses workshop and we will gradually work our way towards a vinyasa-styled class. Cost: $40 for all six classes or $10/class.

why are bats stigmatized as being creepy?
I mean
look at these things
they’re like tiny
fluffy
dragons
but instead of breathing fire they squeak and cuddle
in caves
and leaves
and they have funny ears and noses
I mean really
bats are amazing
Update: Will be continuing classes in the summer :) Stay tuned!

"What I hope everyone can understand is why writing and recording our stories is important to my family, my community, my nation and me. I am writing to fulfill my responsibilities. I am writing so that my family always remember our homeland. I am writing to do my part to achieve decolonization. And I am writing so that our people and our ways will continue." - Mallory Whiteduck, Writing for Continuance

"The antelope merely consents to return home with the hunter. All phases of the hunt are conducted with love: the love the hunter and the people have for the Antelope Peoples, and the love of the antelope who agree to give up their meat and blood so that human beings will not starve." Quote by Leslie Marmon Silko in Mallory Whiteduck's "Writing for Continuance".
