There is Power in names, they say.
What might is there in words?
Does the Storm respect any more the one who screams its name?
Does the Sun shine any more or less on those who plead with it?
The Wind will whisper names back to you, but it is not the breeze, the, but the Gale, that brings its true might to bear.
The Waters may babble in the brook, but it is the Tsunami, the Flood, that brings both Ruin and Change, and no voice will bring it to heel when its might pours over the land.
There is no word that brings you mastery over nature, no name you can chant or cry to make it stop - the only power their names bring you is understanding, to respect it - fear it - know it for yourself.

Why are you so terrified, so angry, so sad? I know all you wanted, was the love that she had. You lashed in terror, you lashed out in fear, my biggest mistake was that I no longer was here. Anger swept me away, it clouded my mind, until all was left was you inside. You’re not meant to control me, you’re not meant to decide, I was supposed to be there for you, to be your guide. You still harbor fear, so much I can tell. But I’m here now, all will be well. We’ve always been loved, we were just too blind to see. Give in to something new, let go and trust me. You still belong to me, that will always be true, but together we’re stronger, as a me AND you. Art and poem about Luna and how Nightmare Moon is a great representation of how anger can take over and distort ones perception of reality. Her biggest mistake was letting it run free for so long, until it consumed her whole.
btw you can use whatever gender seasonings you want. paint your nails, wear breast forms, wear a binder, pack, tuck, dress however you want, whatever. you are adding ingredients to your gender soup.

Twilight’s Rage
(from Fiendship is Magic #1 and Friendship is Magic #36)
I keep coming back to these two pages because this recognition of something going on with Twilight make so much of characterization click.
Twilight has anger issues that run deep and she’s great at hiding them. She was thrust out of her peaceful life in Canterlot to a town full of oddball ponies that never take anything seriously. Twilight always feels like she’s the pony that needs to fix things when they’re broken. Whatever new disaster is looming or currently happening, she’s the one who throws herself into the fire, who comes up with the plan to save everyone. But it’s not for altruistic reasons; it’s because she thinks the others can’t take care of themselves. And she doesn’t allow herself to express those feelings to anyone else because she, at some level, recognizes how hurtful she could be.
The end result is a deeply troubled pony who always looks happy and content with the ponies around her, and nobody realizes how much she’s struggling to keep it together until it boils over. If ponies keep saying hurtful and thoughtless things, if her feelings and confusion aren’t being addressed, she snaps.
But the problem is Twilight never learns to let go of that anger, nor is it ever fully addressed or validated. It boils to the surface and then disappears once someone’s hurt. Rather than coming to terms with her feelings, Twilight just gets progressively better at hiding them, all the way to the throne.
The only pony that can seem to understand what she’s going through is Princess Celestia, who herself had been suffering in silence for the past thousand years, deeply heartbroken over having to banish her sister but putting on a brave face to keep Equestria strong. When Twilight is emotionally at her worst, it’s always Celestia who can guide her back to the light.
It’s very nice for Twilight to be able to have one pony who gets her.
What would she do without her?
Teach your children how to deal with emotions in a constructive way. I wish I had done this with my children.
