I'm becoming obsessed, but you don't mind, right?
DENNIS: With the exception of one night when the New York City Police Department had different opinions of where I should spend the night, we've been together night and day ever since...and that's since 1975, June of '75.
Night and day. Day and night.
LOIS: It seems there's a circle of friends, and then you get to know them, then you get introduced to their friends, and the circle gets bigger, like a family tree with all these connections.
1969. I went to England. I got a train pass and I bought an NME. I just went around to all these shows, and I talked to everybody. I loved people.
This was before I met Dennis.
Dennis and I were exactly the same: the same exact record collection, and somehow we liked the same things.
DENNIS: I was engaged to record an oldies show with Fats Domino.
Lois was invited, and we met and we just sort of hit it off.
The first thing we did, I guess, to make sure this wasn't a horrible mistake...
LOIS: I just walked in, I was out, and now I'm hearing all this.
DENNIS: She'll tell you some crap about our first date being at CBGBs, but we went to a Monty Python movie.
LOIS: I think you'd better change the subject. This isn't going exactly right.
DENNIS:Anyway, after that, we went to CBs every night. The Ramones were there all the time, and they got to know us, from fandom to friendom.
LOIS: I'm curious about the people that create this music and I want to go see these people.
That's what I do with my money. Buy gas and go see bands.
DENNIS: It seems that so much of our life, it just sort of all gravitates, you know, this one knows that one. It's spooky at times, the way things come together.
There aren't a lot of 'gee I should haves'. My big regret is not picking up Andy Warhol when I had the chance, standing on this corner right here.
So we'll go by Johnny's, Joey's, Artie's, the Fillmore...
LOIS: How many times have we stood on that sidewalk?
DENNIS: ...St Mark's place down to Bowery down to CBGBs. The Electric Circus and the Dom were here.
We spent our whole lives here. Now, it's the East Village and the West Village, but it was always Greenwich Village. This was where the music was. And this was where the intelligent people were. And this was just where life was. That's it. Most of the things we knew and loved are gone, but we're still here.
LOIS: I think I've been on this street more than any street in New York, in my whole life, right? From one end to the other end. This street.
DENNIS: "Where can I drive you Mr Warhol?"
And THAT's what I want to do with my money. Buy gas and go see bands. Can we? @shoxoxo :) <3
Mama, I'm in love with a criminal? ;D <3
Still one of my top contenders.
Being different from and indifferent towards everyone and everything. Having the time to think about what I want from life and love and family and friends and boys and why.
Coming-of-age music, along with a few notable others. *cough* All Time Low *cough*
P.S. Alex and Brendon and Patrick <3
Because I don’t even have the energy to go outside
Another way to go nowhere Another day to do nothing
Another reason we don't care
Typical Sunday..
P.S. Nate Ruess and Brendon Urie <3
Who else remembers this from The Sims radio?
Ladies, here's to our insecurities!
Courtesy of the playlist my brother shuffles when driving me to work :)
Madeon, Calvin Harris, Zedd, Afrojack, David Guetta, Martin Solveig, maybe even Kasabian, Paul Van Dyk, Deadmau5.. They need to perform in some kind of festival where Daft Punk caps it all off.
I watched The Necessary Death of Charlie Countrymanand thought it was beautiful. The soundtrack was incredible. Unfortunately, Bucharest Taxi Ride from the score is not posted anywhere. So, if you could just find it and play from 0:55, that would be great. In the meantime, here's something to clue you in on how Bucharest was like.
If you like The Summer Set, lend your hearts and ears to Hedley!
New music video from A Day to Remember! :) <3
I like Ellie Goulding's voice but not the dubstep the it comes with.
I see Aurora on the dance floor LOL
I go to a private business school in a foreign country. The government pays for everything, but I keep a side-job. I mostly sit by myself in lectures, and I study and do projects by myself even when they're group tasks. My best friends go to a neighboring university and take majors different from mine. My boyfriend is at the other end of the globe. At home, people do their own thing and it's quiet and lonely.
In spite of it all, I think I'm doing okay.
Thank You, God :)
