Vanilla: A popular flavor for sweets and an orchid with many variants. This flower carries many meanings including beauty, romance, and fertility. It's scent is also popular in aromatherapy, promoting relaxation and carrying with it a calming aura.

I haven't posted anything on my art blog in a very long time, and there's a handful of reasons for that. But to put it simply, I've just been all over the place, emotionally. It's really impeded my ability to draw, which only makes me sadder because I love to make art, and so it was a very bad cycle I found myself in, haha.
I feel like I had to really climb out of a ditch to pick up a pencil, a tablet pen, anything really. I got very insecure about my art and its ability to make others happy or even satisfy myself. But I really wanted to make art again, because it's not always about the end result. Sometimes the joy is just in the process of making art.
And I did have fun! I had a lot of fun making this! I made art of my sona for purely selfish reasons, instead of making fan art to post after such a long dry spell. Don't get me wrong I do love making fan art, but I thought drawing fan art would only motivate me to create for the satisfaction of others instead of myself.
The outfit on my sona is based on an outfit I have worn out, which was part of the inspiration for this piece (the shoes, I do not own, but wish I did and so this piece is also wish fulfillment LOL). The background was mostly so my sona wasn't just sitting in a void. I love the easy way out but I did push myself a bit and created a BACKGROUND!! WHOA!!! The background was heavily inspired by dress up flash games actually, lol. This illustration is mostly to show off my sona in a cute outfit anyway.
I started this in July and planned to finish and post it earlier, but, well, please refer to my statements above ^^;;
Even if the subject is a bit out of season (where I live anyway) at the time of making this, I'm very happy with it. I'm happy to be drawing and lining and painting again. And I hope inspiration will hit me again soon.
