Bordalo II’s “Wild Wild Waste.”
Portuguese activist and ecologic artist Artur Bordalo, known around the world as Bordalo II, has delivered his most ambitious trash animal installation to date with “Wild Wild Waste,” a 10,000 square feet world of trash that was on display during the Life Is Beautiful Festival in Downtown Las Vegas.
Produced by global creative house Justkids, “Wild Wild Waste” was an eye-popping zoo parody with aims to draw attention to a current global problem: human waste production and the commodification of animal habitats, all the while offering viewers the ultimate destination for a creative funhouse.
The project was prepared in secrecy during 5 weeks in an abandoned Motel of the original Downtown Las Vegas.
Check out a short video of the installation below:

Joshua Smith’s Miniaturized Buildings.
Immensely detailed, phenomenally imagined and compellingly designed sculptures of urban buildings by artist Joshua Smith. Most of the pieces are inspired by the famed Kowloon City and feature posters, trash, leaves and everything else down to the last detail. “My goal is to fool the viewer” says Joshua. “If I photograph it in sunlight, I want them to think its real.”

Yellena James “THRIVE” at Stephanie Chefas Projects.
Opening tonight - April 7th, 2017 - at Stephanie Chefas Projects in Portland, Oregon is the gloriously colorful solo exhibition of new work entitled “THRIVE” by artist Yellena James.
“THRIVE” continues upon James’ exploration of brightly colored, biomorphic shapes. Each panel explodes with kaleidoscopic flora and offers an expansive glimpse into the subaqueous ecosystem. Delicate patterns are carefully added alongside other equally intricate layers, thereby retaining the imperative balance. By reimagining the at once random and mathematically agreeable harmony that actually exists in nature, James brings a completely fantastical world to life.
“THRIVE” will be on display until April 29th, 2017.
