Where else in London you would see such amazing windows like in Harrods! Designed with inspiration from its surroundings..

Inspiration:

Royalty and Buckingham Palace, Thames river and The Tower Bridge, Local weather and droplet shape Dior perfume bottle, Present from Harrods, Night out and Big Ben.

Idea:

Queen's guard change and new collection garment change, Floating Dior handbags through the city, Dior fragrance rain, Tourists and Dior souvenirs, Dior nigh-time outfit and accessories!

I am sure I would find many more ideas to create my own window design in my favourite city which I can't wait to visit again!

Mango’s and Hugo Boss use of their few windows emphasis is their brand recognition simply because of window unusual size or amount of windows available overlapping this remarkable futuristic building. Oversized white letters in each window are seen from the distance and stand out as has been highlighted with in-store lighting as well as smaller square windows above covered with black & white brand logo repeated in each window use is efficient for their size.

I have also liked the new Vero Moda window display as you walk in the main entrance of Bullring…..Star Wars inspired mannequin head covers blending with the overall building’s space ship design.

When I saw this simple window design with in white sketched skull logo, I  didn't know much about Cheap Monday until I visited a Carnaby Street store in London. This brands journey started in 2004 in Stockholm suburb second hand store as unknown denim brand and today it is in the global fashion market has impressive store designs with unique pyramid fixtures made out of the mesh fence and exposed chipboard shelves designed to impact their target customer.

This London's store sometimes hosting events when playing Dj sets and offering swedish cinnamon rolls with beverage for they customers while they browsing the store and its affordable merchandise is like a hidden treasure in the golden pyramids for the young and trendy people.

Glass Pavilion designed by Bruno Taut at The Cologne Werkbund  exhibition in 1914 even the stairs were constructed of translucent glass bricks. Like all the other buildings on the site, the pavilion was demolished after the exhibition.

This square-shaped block of wavy glass have been around since early 1900s and its popularity fluctucate cyclically but as far I can remember growing up in 1980s it was everywhere from modern home interiors to most public places.

Is in it great when you can build curved walls and have them in different shades what will be changing from sunrise till sunset all without latest LED technology or you just can keep your habitat light-full semi-transparent and private in the same time!

Could Bruno's glass pavilion be an architects inspiration for London's "Gherkin" you never know!

Beautiful semi-transparent glass blocks very simple but so effective..  Fresh cold and clean appearance but lighting behind creates amazing green glow..

Designers are branded themselves with matching transparent glass block shape decals with visible perspective..

I think “Miami Vice” and all those tropical plant-filled interiors of ’80s Deco mansions.

Giallo Melbourne Central

Store design inspired from brands name (Giallo-Yellow), what you would associate with this colour? Yes definitely Japan or Tarantinos ''Kill Bill'' film!

The tilted walls, doors and display have been intentionally used as dynamic elements.  The main window display has a “sushi-train” conveyor belt rotating the shoes at eye level.  Baked enamelled aluminium, Swedish vinyl and acrylic are the contemporary materials that feel at ease in this design as they would in a bullet train in Japan.

Dior on Fifth Avenue: Fantastic Perspective

The windows welcome the arrival of spring, they feel open and airy and the barriers between what’s inside and what’s outside appears to evaporate. Spring is about illusion and surprise and optimism. Architectural elements evoke traditional Dior interiors, but the floors are highly distorted to produce shifting perspectives.

How far in time and how deep in my imagination would I have to travel in my mind to design a window for the store like Fornarina in Las Vegas but I defineatly don't mind a challenge.

When I walk in the Fornarina's flagship store on Carnaby street in London it makes me think about future of the retail design and how would most of our fashion stores look like in 20 years...!

This 10th award winner store does not need a impressive window dressings because window back is left open for the view of its amazing interior designed by Italian architect Giorgio Borruso. Glossy white shell puzzled- LED powered curvy walls and ceiling changing colour gradually gave me some SCY FI emotions, ideas and plenty of inspiration.

Zara’s new collection displayed on mannequins placed in museum exhibition type glass enclosure! I think it is a brilliant idea, design theme and solution for open back window!

Zara has invested to Derby's store front graphics branding their store image using a large window space and designing this 3D font written logo which looks like laser glass art inside a rectangular glass cube.

Creating an eye ILLUSION and adding abstract art in a window design will not only draw the attention but also will make shoppers to come closer to the display and examine the mysterious objects in the window.
