Designed by Emilio Duhart with collaborators Christian de Groote, Roberto Goycoolea, and Óscar Santelices.
It was completed in 1966 as the headquarters for the United Nations Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC).
Known for its integration with the surrounding landscape, exposed concrete, and symbolic references to Latin America, the building is a landmark of modern architecture and considered a monumental work of the International Style.
