Where oh where is my deathtiny...?

I've been searching, despondently

So Knowingly, dependently 

And ignorantly missing ME!

There, in their eyes happily...!

In wrinkled faces smilingly

Yes innocently reflectingly

And acceptingly seeing ME!

Friends, in this vicinity...!

They're here, not unselfishly

Easily unassumingly

And generously sharing ME!

And yet I still despondently...!

Seek out with such determinedly

And yes tenaciously

Graspingly avoiding happiness...!

Selfishly ME!

Like a broken-winged bird

I flail about

Restrained by the unseen hand of fate

Eyes searching but not seeing

An escape window one way

Unknown source of pain the other

Is it the pain I seek?

Is it escape?

Restrained, like a netted-fish

I flap instinctively

Unprotected, dislocated from water

Determined eyes defiant

Where is my ocean?

What force lifts me away from comfort?

Knowing not how.

Knowing I will, escape.
