RICHARD MADDEN FOR CALVIN KLEIN DEFY
If you think we should do this, I trust you.
Kumail Nanjiani as Kingo and Richard Madden as Ikaris in ETERNALS (2021)
I don't like that Richard is always compared to Sebastian and not the other way around but I have to admit it's fair, Sebastian is much more popular than Richard. Not only does he have Marvel, he also has 3 project coming up around the same time and Richard didn't have anything in years and Eternals didn't do well. If Citadel won't do well, his career is in trouble. He needs to fire his agent, he wasted so many opportunities.
Honestly I assumed it was because Seb is older. lol Maybe I'm wrong.
I am a big fan of both and know most of their projects and Seb's had a lot of movies that didn't do well too. In fact there were periods where critically he didn't do well at all. He was lucky enough to have been in the biggest Marvel movies and Richard was in a unique one. I think Phase 4 is starting off a bit rocky? for lack of a better term. A introduction of a lot characters in multiple projects, the original group of heroes either left the MCU or were introducing the new Disney+ shows. If Richard was in a project with an existing MCU star it would have done better. Plus Eternals and Shang Chi are both very different from the original movies. I do think Eternals is doing better since it is streaming. I've watched a couple of times more and I like it more now. I do hope they bring him back in either Eternals 2 or another movie.
I don't think Richard's career is in jeopardy. He's got From Now coming up (It's a podcast but Amazon got the TV rights to it and he'll be an exec producer - https://deadline.com/2021/05/amazon-richard-madden-brian-cox-series-from-now-sci-fi-1234750897/) Plus Citadel is made by the Russo brothers and they are usually really popular. BBC talked about doing Bodyguard S2 before the pandemic put that off.
So I think he'll be okay. And hey! Maybe Richard & Seb can do a movie as brothers which would be fun!
Sebastian said thaaaat:
" MY BROTHER FROM ANOTHER MOTHER"
OMG HE SAID IT. THEY’RE GONNA BE BESTIES YESSSSSSS

I don't get why fans are suddenly saying Richard's career is over. Like to me, he is at his peak! He's a respected actor, a person loved by his coworkers and fans. He'll probably return in a Marvel project (because no character stays dead for long especially if they've a following which Ikaris already has) and he has Citadel coming up. The pandemic just messed up quite a few things for everyone, but in the end he's becoming a household name.
Sorry this took so long. I had to keep an eye out for fans that posted that and I didn't really see anything.
I think fans need to understand that Marvel Phase 4 isn't like Phase 1-3 where all the cast blew up, there were tons of interviews and appearances in magazines and talk shows. The pandemic has made these new shows/movies so far dialed back that it looks like no one is really basking in fame. Add that to the fact that Richard's naturally quiet on social media, it doesn't really look like other Marvel stars. He won a Golden Globe and people quickly forgot it. I think he needs a new PR person!
Fans might be saying his career is over because he doesn't have anything in the pipeline after Citadel but he could be taking a break or waiting to see what offers Eternals.
I thought Richard would be more popular after Eternals. People are barely making gifsets with him anymore. And the next time he will be seen is probably at the end of the year with Citadel promo, I wish he had more projects, he only has two since 2019...
I think he is a lot more popular but then again his fanbase is normally very quiet lol He doesn't really try to interact with fans or get a following, barely uses social media which seems to bring the fans faster. He's a bit less outgoing than a lot of the marvel actors are. But I adore him so that's more for the rest of us!
The pandemic messing with their promotion of Eternals didn’t help.

If you are a new fan or just missed it, you should really check out Ibiza on Netflix. Richard is so adorable and sexy in it.
