not gonna lie, the not so subtle misogyny of introducing Jan literally just for a source of jealously between Pete and Ray in Gavries fanfics grates on me so much 😭

Just because Stephen King can't write female characters doesn't mean we can't! Please please please give these beautiful women at least A SCRAP of description, a background, personality or nuance.

This happens in soooo many fandoms consistently, all the time and ik some of it might not be intentional, especially since obviously the women in the long walk aren't given many canon details. But there's so much fandom content for these ladies if you look!

he's the kind of guy that puts you on a pedestal, who's first and only priority is you and you only. the rest? he does not give a single shit about it

he gets you everything you want without you having to ask for it. he buys you flowers every week, gets you your favorite ice cream when you feel sad and doesn't care about skipping work if you are sick.

he holds your hand whenever you go out together and reaches for it when you pull away for a second. he hugs you for long minutes after work because your perfume is so damn comforting and he takes his time to kiss you because you are worth taking time for.

he hates when you have fights and he's generally the first one to apologize because he can't stand the silence between you. he listens to your rants, even the ones where you just keep repeating the same words over and over or the ones where you sob more than you talk. he always tries to find solutions to your problems and apologizes when he can't cause he feels like it's his job to help you.

he cooks you your comfort food after you mentionned it because he wants to surprise you (even if he might not have the best cooking skills). he compliments you when you dress up or when you cut your hair or get your nails done since he knows how much efforts you put in it and how it makes you happy to have it noticed.

he's truly boyfriend material
