2021 Summer Vacay: Part 7 I gave the kids a choice on the way back from the Sand Dunes as to which location they wanted to stop at: Roswell or Palo Duro Canyon. 2021 Summer Vacay: Part 6 In Colorado, surrounded by mountains and open country is a unique landscape of sand dunes. HUGE SAND DUNES! Our camp plans did not go as planned but we enjoyed this National park all the same. After 4 wheeling through the sand and rocks just outside of the dunes we found an expected place to sleep for the night. More to come on that later. 2021 Summer Vacay: Part 4 We arrived at Miller State Park. We originally booked a night here as a stopping point halfway to our next destination. Little did we know that this park would become our favorite stops along the way. 2021 Summer Vacay: Part 2 in this part of our vacation we ascend Mt Eva to Chinns Lake just an hour and a half west of Denver. At over 11,000 ft in elevation the climate is cold and wet. At first it was a welcome break from the July heat of Texas. But we are Texans, and the cold gets old quickly. A beautiful location to camp. 2021 Summer Vacay: Part 1. We loaded up and drove to Colorado for our first family vacation since the pandemic shut down last summer’s plans. We made the first stop in Trinidad and ate at The Cafe. Yummy foods! Then we went to Golden CO for more woody-licious pizza @woodysgolden (you must try this). After that, we enjoyed some freshly popped fireworks for dessert.
