Doc managed to find his box and opened it up with his card. Inside was his portal gun, a regular pistol, and a switchblade. He didn’t bring much other than what he forgot in his coat that day. He quickly pocketed his belongings and set his portal gun to previous destination on the keypad. “Yeah, I know, and I know the easiest solution is to just hand you over to them. So you’d at least get a proper firing squad. But I gueeess I owe you one for that party… So -urrh- what dimension do we have to erase from existence?”

Laser bullets were turning this table into swiss cheese and the dispersing crowd was leaving them wide open the longer they stalled. Doc yelled in frustration as he returned fire before ducking as low as he could go. This fancy schmancy place had a ‘no firearms permitted inside’ rule, and annoyingly enough counted their portal guns as weapons. They were sitting ducks out here. “Get your shit together, Brick! We need to get our portal guns back at the entrance! M-maybe we could Indiana Jones it? Remember that scene with the gong at that Asian nightclub? I-I’m grasping for ideas right now.”

Doc flips more tables as they roll closer to them and takes advantage of making a few shots in their direction before ducking under the new table to check the gun. "I counted six guys in front of us. Dammit, my dick shoots better than this piece of… actually it’s a pretty high-end model.“ Doc quickly concludes its just his nerves. He flinches as an energy blast whizzes through the table over his head.

He stares Brick hard in the face. “I’m running for the bar.” Without hesitation, he gets up and charges towards the bar, leaps over the sitting table and ducks down. Now the assassins had to be on their toes, at least for the guy with a gun. Bullets fired over the bars direction. Doc quickly grabbed a bottle of alien booze and took a light sip of it, cause that’s what Spielberg would of wanted.

A john Williams score was swelling. brick looked around quickly for anything to use as a weapon or for an escape that doc hadn’t already used. He started to panic. just then a bullet whizzed by his face and hit a bottle of booze, splashing it all over his face.

In a moment of “fuck it”, brick picked up the table by the leg and threw at the men firing at them. then in a split second later lept behind the bar.

Brick landed right next to him. “Dude, -euurhh- what the fuck? This is my cover! Now all of them are gonna be shooting at us!” As soon as Doc made that obvious a spray of hot plasma bullets fired through the safety of the counter’s cabinets. Liquor was spilling everywhere out of busted bottles.

Doc lay low on the floor and considered his next strategy quickly, he pulled Brick tightly against him and covered his mouth. “AHHH!! I’ve been hit! Man, I really didn’t think this drug empire business through, Doc!” Doc proceedly to cough violently. “Oooh, I should of listened to you, Doc! Oh my god, you’re dead! This is how I die! Curse my hubriiis! GAACK!”

Gunfire ceased and footsteps hurried over, quietly approaching the bar. Doc shot the first two heads that peered over the table.

The assassins cursed and backed off. “Which one has the gun?” “The one that isn’t dead.” “Which one?!” “The target, obviously!”

He dropped Brick like a hot potato and slipped under the swinging counter top door. Only to meet up with the bartender cowering against the corner wall. Doc pointed his gun at him. “Move it.”

“Enough, it’s four against one, just shoot him on my signal.” The assassins quietly changed their positions. They were suddenly distracted by movement in the corner of their eye. The bartender running for his life. Two more were blasted through their skulls in a seemingly lined up shot.

“Where the f- where the fuck is he? Did you see him?” “Shh! Shut up.” With only two remaining they were forced to go on the defensive. Looking into the distance of the booths and tables still peacefully sitting. Waiting for movement.

brick got on top of the bar and jumped on top of one of the assassins, tackling him to the ground and knocking him out. the other assassin turned around. “how’d you get over there?”

before he could shoot, brick grabbed an empty bottle and threw it at his head. the assassin fired grazing bricks head and fell to the ground unconscious. “cheers”

brick stood up and looked at the two guys knocked out. “what is this, an episode of Giligan’s Island? everyone gets hit once and is immediately unconscious?”

Doc peered out from the bartender’s hiding spot and walked back to Brick, his brow furrowed. “Great. I didn’t have to single-handedly take care of all of them.” He lodged a plasma bullet into each of the last two guy’s brains before heading for the entrance muttering to himself. “Where the fuck was security?” He kept a firm grip on his raygun.

“Doc we godda get out of here quick! That was my security. Witch means something big is going on. They must be having a hostile takeover. I godda say tho, never thought they’d have the guts to finaly do it.”

Brick grabbed doc by the shoulder. “Doc we need to get to my safe house!”

Doc pried him off. “Whoa! What’s with all this ‘we’ stuff? It’s your drug empire! Were you not prepared for this to happen?” he sneered. He power walked the rest of the way to the entrance. He made note that the doorway was on lockdown then hopped over the abandoned weapons check counter and started trying to match up his card with the storage boxes. “I don’t want any involvement with the shitstorm you started, Brick. I just wanna go home and contemplate what I’m gonna have for dinner and instead eat the rest of the box of cookies in my living room.. a-and drink, to forget this night.”

brick calmed down and grabbed a bottle from the bar. “doc, you do realize they’re gonna be after you too now right?”

Brck and @doc-rick-a106 were at the BrisbeyLand secrete rich people club restaurant and having the fanciest foods and drinks only cocaine and and moral reprehensibility can afford. Generals, kings and queens, dead celebrities, you name it were there.

“so doc? pretty nice eh?”

“Eh, I’ve seen better.” Doc shrugged and drank his fancy champagne. He’s dressed for the occasion, wearing a gray dinner suit. He’s out here, purely to eat for free and avoid going home. “So what’re you gonna do? Rub elbows with the the aristocrats?”

brick drank his fancy wine and fixed his glasses. “Nah just figured id eat tonight. plus im feeling a little on edge. don’t know why” brick leaned back a little in his chair.

“Mm, I can’t imagine why.” Doc could actually imagine several reasons why. He prided himself on the fact he stuck to the stock markets, betting, or trading memorabilia for cash. The only trouble he ever had was with time police and the langoliers. But they were a joke. “Maybe you shouldn’t snort your own merchandise.”

brick looked around “nah man. i never get high on my own supply man. that’s rule number one in all the movies. i just have this weird feeling ya know? i’m sure its nothing.” brick takes a long breath and takes a larger sip from his glass of wine “hey man you know, its cool that you’re cool with this. its pretty sweet living the good life aint it?”

Doc swirled his glass, staring at the bubbles. “Yeah, I guess so. But doesn’t it feel like it’s missing something?” He pulled the glass closer to his face, and stared harder at each rising bubble before speaking again. “Like no matter how much you try to entertain yourself with material wealth. With no one to reaffirm our own inherent value as a person, life just feels like an ungratifying lonely experience.”

Brich raises his eyebrow and lets out a chuckle “look who’s getting philosophical! Been taking some classes there doc?”

“-urrh- Eh?” Doc peered through his drink at Brick’s smug face. From what he could make out he saw a pair of large hands appear between him and with a swift motion flip a wire around his neck and tug him out of sight.

Doc’s blood ran cold and he had sinking feeling he was in deep shit now. Immediately he reacted, with the handle of the champagne glass catching the wire, barely buying him time to break loose from the thug behind him before it cracked. He spun around, knocking over the chair, and shoved the broken end in the offender’s jugular. Seemed like a human waiter trained to kill. Now holding his squirting artery.

Brick didn’t seem so lucky, he was the real target here and it was a bulky four-eyed bipedal alien, also a waiter but clearly the most conspicuous of the two. He could of easily snapped Brick’s neck instead of try severing it off. But to each his own. Some do enjoy a good struggle, and the cathartic sound of gargling really does stroke the ego.

It really brought a whole commotion within the restaurant.

brick drank his fancy wine and fixed his glasses. “Nah just figured id eat tonight. plus im feeling a little on edge. don’t know why” brick leaned back a little in his chair.

“Mm, I can’t imagine why.” Doc could actually imagine several reasons why. He prided himself on the fact he stuck to the stock markets, betting, or trading memorabilia for cash. The only trouble he ever had was with time police and the langoliers. But they were a joke. “Maybe you shouldn’t snort your own merchandise.”

brick looked around “nah man. i never get high on my own supply man. that’s rule number one in all the movies. i just have this weird feeling ya know? i’m sure its nothing.” brick takes a long breath and takes a larger sip from his glass of wine “hey man you know, its cool that you’re cool with this. its pretty sweet living the good life aint it?”

Doc swirled his glass, staring at the bubbles. “Yeah, I guess so. But doesn’t it feel like it’s missing something?” He pulled the glass closer to his face, and stared harder at each rising bubble before speaking again. “Like no matter how much you try to entertain yourself with material wealth. With no one to reaffirm our own inherent value as a person, life just feels like an ungratifying lonely experience.”

Brich raises his eyebrow and lets out a chuckle “look who’s getting philosophical! Been taking some classes there doc?”

“-urrh- Eh?” Doc peered through his drink at Brick’s smug face. From what he could make out he saw a pair of large hands appear between him and with a swift motion flip a wire around his neck and tug him out of sight.

Doc’s blood ran cold and he had sinking feeling he was in deep shit now. Immediately he reacted, with the handle of the champagne glass catching the wire, barely buying him time to break loose from the thug behind him before it cracked. He spun around, knocking over the chair, and shoved the broken end in the offender’s jugular. Seemed like a human waiter trained to kill. Now holding his squirting artery.

Brick didn’t seem so lucky, he was the real target here and it was a bulky four-eyed bipedal alien, also a waiter but clearly the most conspicuous of the two. He could of easily snapped Brick’s neck instead of try severing it off. But to each his own. Some do enjoy a good struggle, and the cathartic sound of gargling really does stroke the ego.

It really brought a whole commotion within the restaurant.

“oh shit!” was all that was going through his mind. didnt he have people to take care of this? didnt he have guards to stop these people? for the first time in a long time, brick felt scared.

brick reached at his neck as he gets strangled. he struggles to let out a few words. “hey! where the hell is my food?” he reaches for his glass of wine and flung whatever wine was left in it. by a struck of luck, the wine got in the lumbering mans eye. this allowed brick time to escape and tackle the man. brick hit the man repeatedly until he was unconscious.

“fuck!”

“Hey Brick, friends of yours?!” Doc yelled sarcastically amongst the panicked stricken patrons. He pulled the raygun away from the human assassin before he’d get his shot and swung his arm into the side of his face to knock him to he ground.

Shots were fired from across the room. These weren’t the only assassins here. Doc quickly flipped the table for cover between him and Brick.

“fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck FUCK! FUCK!” brick dropped to the ground, behind the table “this is not good doc! this is not FUCKING good doc!” brick peeks at the people firing at them. “oh come on!”

he took out a a small device with a button on it. he pressed it, then pressed it repeatedly. “elohim yishemor!” he threw the device at the two assassins

“…” Doc was suddenly feeling a bit of vertigo with these unveiled facts. That only sounded worse on the moral end of things. Completely replaceable? Brick was already deep in this backstabbing business. “That’s so fucked up.”

“Jeezus.” Doc was a little uncertain what to do now, fixated on the floor. This kind of puts a damper on things even with the cocaine running through his system. He reached into his coat pocket for his flask to drink down whatever was left in it.

“How about I throw a little party in your honor? Hmm? Would that make you feel better?”

“Don’t talk down to me like some rich kid’s inattentive parent.” Doc put his flask away. He might need something stronger than home brew M.D. though. “I guess you did what you had to do. Let’s just forget- let’s just get back in there. I really don’t wanna go home right now anyway.”
