Riddled Words

I've written poetry for over 4 years and have been scared to share it with more than a few people. Soo, here it is! I will post one everyday, hopefully:)

Fear Overcome

My mouth is spitting faster than my mind can control My words keep trembling like a jaw in the snow You can’t seem to grasp the fear deep in my soul It’s everything I see that rots my chest to the bone

Eyes that peer into a dark mans heart Skipping the beat as his lips slowly part Out comes the words of the devil himself And darkness becomes you, there’s no way out

Gasping for breath while you soak in a stench They all look like flowers, but they smell of death Pushing up daisies in the prettiest of fields Frolicking then jumping, it becomes too surreal

A nightmare plays, deep in your head 6 feet under is a fear that i begin to shed I open my eyes and see more than black Is it the world at its best Or fear at its rest? Regardless , the answer. Life is a test.

Tucson

Mountains higher than ones heart can fly

With honey drops of sweet sunshine

For every sparkling eye

To think such small cities

Can be quieter than its minds

Is madness beyond all thought

Simply listen to its whines

  A never-ending roar of engines

With a mix of young children's cries

Is what you'll hear everyday,

Though you'll find it a lullaby

  Walking through its rotten streets

You'll see the painted faces

Of every past lover, child, and forgotten grandfather

Painted with its cities sorrows and happiness combined

Forgive their questioning looks

For they know nothing, but their bothers

Much like the stress of a simple saddened concubine

  This is where you'll start your life

Given a mix of new strife

Forget each day at the close of the night

And start new with the morning light

  It is fear that rocks the boat of life

And fear that will once save your life

So breathe new hope and strike,

With chance at your side.

Music

The music will wrap you up

It'll steal  your soul

And take you away

To your darkest hole

To be taken by the sound

Is to be kept up bound

Bound the rules and the shiny sharp tools

  Everybody is looking

Looking and searching

For the fulfillment of life

Which awaits you in eternity

It will catch you at your worst moment

And lighten your load

It will fix all your problems and pay all your tolls

  Give it one more chance

Let the music find you

And it will carry a pure and beautiful tune

Down to the darkest of all the moons

Second Glances

Failing to give thought, to those who need it most May be societies greatest failure

Second Glances and a wondering mind, Might be the best cure

Everyone hopes for a better day The sickness lies in those, who hope for it most

All the passing by can give the sickened hope, with simply a second glance, a smile at the most

Caring for a second, for those with rotten memories, Can purify and tranquilize the darkest of souls

Life is the culprit for cold, darkened hearts Darting eyes and sunken chests are a sign of the hurt Most receive painful consequence, few survive the cope

Take few seconds out of life to smile at those passing by, And perhaps on your worst day, a smile from a stranger, will release an aching cry.
