Equestrian art, perhaps more than any other, is closely related to the wisdom of life.
Alois Podhajsky -
Theory without practice is of little value, whereas practice is the proof of theory....Theory is the knowledge, practice the ability.
Alois Podhajsky - Former Director of the Spanish Riding School in Vienna
A Remarkable Journey into Bitless Riding.....Food for thought
I am not sure what I really think about this. I guess I am an old fashioned girl and don't really think that natural products should be considered on the list as illegal substances that effect neurotransmitters...We all spend our days looking for ways to be calmer and more relaxed. Why shouldn't horses too? What do you think? Read the article in Dressage Training Online and let me know what you feel?
Are you in need of some brushing up on your equine education? Interested in really understanding the true language of the horse? Then an excellent tool is through the United States Dressage Association, E-trak. A very resourceful program that even allows you to create an on-line University where you build credits and can earn certificates.

"Some riders don’t realize that a condition- sine qua non- for a successful communication with the horse is on the one hand to apply the aids with increasing intensity, as needed, and on the other hand to cease the aid as soon as it is effective, regardless of whether it is a seat, leg, or rein aid.~
Gustav von Dreyhausen
“A good hand is the one that can resist and yield when necessary and receive with precision the action created by the legs.”
~ Salomon de la Broue
