SUMMER RACE SERIES: GOLDEN SADDLE GRAND PRIX
The Summer Race Series continues in one week with the 3rd annual Golden Saddle Grand Prix. As always, this is one night of track racing that you do not want to miss. The battle for the SRS2013 Team Trophy is heating up with powerhouse teams like La Grange, Bicycle.net and Predator Cycling closing in on current leader Engine 11. WOLFPACK CRIT: TEAM STATE BICYCLE CO.
Seven riders from Team SBC travelled out to Los Angeles last month to compete in the Wolfpack Hustle Civic Center Criterium. Most of the team competed in both track and road categories and it looks like everyone had a good time. Check out the race results and Unified Title Series standings over at wolfpackhustle.com.

SUMMER RACE SERIES: BICYCLE.NET VELO DERBY
The next event in the Summer Race Series is right around the corner so I hope you're ready for it. Pre-registration is open now at SoCalReg.com. If you don't plan to race, bring the whole family because there will be a moon bounce for the kids and a raffle to benefit the Cono Fund. I also have big news about the SRS Team Trophy. Because there was a such an overwhelming turnout at the Team Dream Team Trial Time, we decided to raise the stakes and double Team Trophy points awarded for the rest of the season. JACKIE PRICE DUNN: A FRIEND TO ALL
Southern California riders and racers have been mourning the passing of Jackie Price Dunn who was fatally injured during a crash at San Diego Velodrome. Last night we held a moment of silence in her memory before beginning the Time Trials and this moving video truly shows just how deeply Jackie affected those around her. « On June 18th, 2013 our dear friend Jackie Dunn was involved in a fatal cycling crash while racing at the San Diego Velodrome. And in true Jackie-style, she left us while doing something that she loved. In her passing her organs were donated, saving the lives of 6 strangers. Ironically Jackie knew no strangers. »
TONIGHT AT ENCINO VELODROME
Get your teams ready because the Summer Race Series at Encino Velodrome begins tonight with the Team Dream Team Trial Time. There is a rumor circulating that this evening's gracious host, Sean from Team Dream Bicycle Team, will be grilling up some snacks out of the back of his VW bus so don't miss out.

R.I.P. JACKIE PRICE DUNN
I am truly heartbroken to hear of the loss of local So Cal racer Jackie Price-Dunn who succumbed to injuries after a crash at San Diego Velodrome. Though I did not know her personally, this intense weight on my chest that I'm feeling is identical to what I felt when I heard about Cono's passing less than a month ago. My deepest condolences go out to Jackie's family, friends and everyone whose lives she touched. Please find it in your heart to contribute to the Jackie Price-Dunn Memorial Fund.

The Wolfpack Hustle 2013 Unified Title Series continues this Sunday with the Civic Center Crit and EVERYONE is excited about it. Intense track bike and road bike crit races on a fully closed course surrounding Los Angeles City Hall. Sounds like the perfect thing to check out after riding with CicLAvia.
MACHINE PROJECT: ENCINO VELODROME
Poster designed by Kimberly Varella and printed by Paul Morgan for one of Machine Project's latest collections, the Field Guide To L.A. Architecture: « This summer, Machine has invited 30 artists to create 30 new projects that respond to 30 notable architectural sites around the city of Los Angeles. The events range in size and scope and include a tract home light show, a lecture on ninetheenth-century aquaria inside a $3 million Frank Gehry-designed aquarium, a cave concert, an experimental theater piece performed in the only Schindler spec home ever built, a movement piece for pregnant performers in a domed church, collaborative walking tours, a theatrical performance of The Odyssey set in a Honda Odyssey circling the freeways, and a Miracle Mile memorial Starline bus tour guided by the spirit of Whitney Houston. TODAY AT ENCINO VELODROME
All proceeds from this event will go to benefit the family of a fallen friend. There will be a track certification clinic, some races, some raffles, some prizes and a whole lot of riding to be had. Twenty bucks to ride (includes a raffle ticket), ten bucks to rent a bike (if you need to) and five bucks for each additional raffle ticket.
