A Ride Without Waste is a response to the global waste issue. I plan to cycle the east coast of Tasmania, from Hobart to Devenport, without producing non-biodegradable waste. This could be a one-off trip, but I like the idea of sparking a little wasteless cycle movement. We can do better. Ride Without Waste.

This is the aluminium beast that will carry me up Tassie's east coast. It's a late 80's Klein that I call the tin can. A hodge podge of different kit that i scored off ebay. Im doing some light modifications for the trip- a nice low profile gear rack above the rear wheel and some kevlar tires to avoid punctures along the way. That way, I'll save time and the need to replace tubes. Can't wait to get on the road on this wasteless mission!

Welcome to A Ride Without Waste

The world is awash with human waste. Plastic is filling up our oceans. Bottles litter our beaches and clog our drains.  The effect is ecological devastation on a global scale.  I'm sick of waste. We can do things better. This month, I am embarking on an 11-day cycle mission up the East Coast of Tasmania. I will ride the whole way and aim to avoid producing non-biodegradable waste at all costs. I'll eat tasmanian fruit and return their valuable nutrients in their skins back to the soil. I'll buy fresh bread from local producers. I'll buy local beer in pint glasses.  What will I do with my empty sardine tins? I want to try a ride without waste.
