A rapid fist slammed against the bathroom stall, causing it to rattle. "Aish! Can you get the fuck out we've been waiting forever!"
Eden looked over her shoulder in distress. She knew Sunhi was full of shit when she swore she wouldn't have more than three drinks if they went out to celebrate her latest cuddle buddy success. Yet here they were holding up the bathroom line in some random nightclub in Hongdae, Sunhi kneeling over the toilet while Eden rubbed circles into her back.
The muffled sound of Jay Park's Mommae could be heard through the walls giving Eden something else to focus on as Sunhi emptied her guts. She wasn't nearly as drunk as her friend, the result of only nursing a sex on the beach all night.
Eden wasn't one to go out often, but every once in a while Sunhi could convince her to throw on a cute outfit and hit the town. On those nights, Eden became the designated everything.
Designated bag holder.
Designated cab caller.
Designated babysitter.
Because lord knows, the both of them drunk off their asses would do them no good.
Another groan came from Sunhi. They were for sure gonna have a long talk about drinking responsibly in the morning.
The banging on the door continued.
Eden's body was moving before her brain could even process her actions. The culprit on the other side of the stall almost falling on her ass at the force of Eden yanking the door open.
"Do you not hear her throwing up in here bitch?!"
Okay...maybe she was a little more tipsy than she thought.
"Y-you're holding up the line! There's only three stalls," she stuttered. "You should be more considerate."
Eden stared at the girl like she had three heads. Be more considerate???
"Would you rather her throw up on them dirty ass shoes you have on? I'm confused??? Should I get her to aim at them?" She tapped Sunhi's shoulder. "Sunhi babe don't aim for the toilet, she wants it all over here."
A few gasps and snickers could be heard from the line.
Face red, the girl huffed and rushed out of the bathroom muttering curses under her breath.
Eden turned to the rest of the line, "Anybody else have something to say?"
Suddenly, everyone found the floor interesting.
"That's what I thought," she muttered, closing the stall.
Sunhi, finally done, looked up at her smiling. "I am so proud of youuuuu," she slurred, head bobbing back and forth. "You stuck up for me! You love me!"
Sunhi was going to be the death of her.
Eden reached down to pull her up, "Alright girl. Time to get you home."
Stumbling into the apartment Eden dropped Sunhi on the couch. Tired wasn't even the word right now. She felt like she needed one of her own cuddle sessions the way her knees threatened to buckle from exhaustion.
Forcing herself up, she trudged to the kitchen in search of water bottles and medicine for Sun's definite headache in the morning. She glanced at the time on the microwave. 2:13 AM. They were going to regret this so bad tomorrow.
She found what she needed and traveled back to the living room. Sun hadn't moved an inch since she was thrown on the couch, dead to the world. Rolling her eyes, Eden grabbed the blanket they kept on the back of the couch and draped it over the girl. Sunhi curling into it on immediate contact.
Eden checked to make sure the front door was locked before she made her way to her room. The sight of her bed almost bringing her to her knees. It was just what she needed.
Quickly, she stripped her club outfit and did a half ass night time routine, one of Sunhi's moomoos her outfit of choice for the night. She fell face first onto her pillow and drifted off into a deep sleep, neglecting all else.
Morning came quick. The sound of birds chirping and the harsh glare of the sun through her curtains bringing her back from the land of the dead. She reached over to her bedside table for her phone, curious of the time only to come up empty handed.
Confused, she sat up and looked around. Where the hell did she put her phone? Shuffling around she looked in the sheets, under her pillows, even the side of her mattress, and came up with nothing. Weird.
In the distance she could hear Sun moaning out complaints.
Eden wrapped a blanket around herself to fight against the cold air before she shuffled to the living room. Sun was hanging half way off the couch, arm covering her eyes, a look of pain on her face.
"Ughhhhhhh I'm never drinking again."
"Exactly what you get," she muttered, lowering herself to the floor by the girl's head.
"Don't lecture me right now."
"You're lucky that's all I have to say right now cause the way you were throwing up last night I should definitely be on your ass."
Sunhi's hand found Eden's lips, "Hush now child."
She swiped the girl's hand away, "Have you seen my phone?"
"Nope, but you can track it on my phone. I think it's in my boot."
Too lazy to stand, Eden rolled over to the girl's boot and retrieved the phone. All hope she had crushed when she saw the location of her's.
Hongdae.
"What the fawkkkk," she complained.
How the hell did she leave her phone at the club?!
"That doesn't sound good."
She shot a glare at Sunhi, "This is all your fault. Now I have to go back to that shitty club and get my phone."
"Blaming little old me is insane. You can't be mad at the ill."
Eden rolled her eyes. She wasn't actually mad at her friend, just irritated she had to go back to the damn club.
She looked at the time.
11:47 AM
"OH MY GOD!"
She had a shift at Far Ben in an hour.
Phone long forgotten, Eden rushed to her room. Hara would kill her if she was late. When Eden heard her coworker needed someone to cover the later half of her shift, she jumped at the opportunity. Now, she regretted all of her life choices.
She got to Far Ben with two minutes to spare. The familiar smell of coffee beans and fresh pastries hitting her nose immediately. Behind the counter, Hara's shoulders visibly relaxed. Without a second thought she clocked in and slid behind the counter. The afternoon rush was starting soon, and she knew the girl was eager to leave.
"Thank you so much Eden. I owe you!"
She waved the girl"No problem Hara. I hope your appointment goes well."
The afternoon rush hit like a tsunami. Customers running in and out. BTS fangirls popping in. Mobile orders coming through every two seconds. It was a lot, but the team moved in sync easing the stress for everyone. By the time six o'clock rolled around Eden was dead tired. The adrenaline of the rush wearing off.
It seemed like all the hours of sleep she missed was hitting her all at once. And not having her phone made it worse. She had no kind of stimulation to keep her mind going.
Resting her head into her arms on the table she ignored the ring of the door, too tired and far away to greet anyone. Her eyelids threatened to close - the calm chaos of the cafe lulling her to sleep.
She felt the table move - probably just Juhoon coming to take his break too. They always hid away at this table on their breaks.
"You've been ignoring me."
Every muscle in her body went stiff.
Lifting up slowly, she came face to face with Namjoon. Mask resting beneath his chin. Jaw tight. A piercing look in his eyes that immediately told her he was annoyed.
Maybe even worried?
"How did you know I was here?"
"Don't ask dumb questions," he scoffed. "Why haven't you responded to me?"
Her brows furrowed. She was too tired for his shit today.
"What were you going to do," he continued. "Take the money and disappear?"
Eden just stared at him, then dropped her head back onto her arms.
"Here you go being an asshole again."
"What do you expect me to think Eden? I send you all that money and I haven't gotten a response since."
Silence.
"Eden."
Still nothing.
"Can you say something? Like what the fuck. Are we children?"
The condescending tone of his voice set her off.
"First of all nobody is ignoring you, and even if I was, you aren't entitled to a response. Second, I lost my god damn phone in Hongdae so NOBODY has been able to get ahold of me."
She leaned forward. "If you're going to sit here and be an asshole and accuse me of shit, you can leave. I'm not in the mood."
The man in front of her sat speechless, a dumb look on his face. She didn't mean to snap at him like that, but this assuming the worst of her bullshit was starting to get on her nerves. Right along with his bipolar attitude.
"I apologize."
She rolled her eyes.
"What are you doing here Namjoon?"
His gaze held her's a little too long.
"I wanted to see you."
Eden didn't know if she should be concerned or flattered. If this was any other client she probably would have reported them to the police by now.
Randomly showing up to her place of work, causing arguments like he's her man, the way he touches her...all things that cross the line. Yet the only thing that crossed her mind when the words spilled from his mouth was how much she missed the feeling of his body on her's.
Platonically of course.
"You know this is borderline harassment right?" she asked, head cocked to the side.
A small smile tugged at his mouth, "Arrest me."
"Yeah let me just get my cuffs from the back."
His smile grew wider, dimples on full display. "You into that?"
She looked down at her watch flustered. She only had five minutes left of her break.
"I have to go back soon. Are you going to continue being a weirdo stalker or tell me why you're really here?"
He started to play with her fingers that rested on the table, "I told you already. You were ignoring my messages."
She snatched her hand away.
"Boy what are you doing?!" She hissed, looking around the room to make sure no one saw.
He pulled it right back.
"Don't pull away from me."
Eden looked at him with wide eyes, "Do you not know who you are? WHERE we are???"
"Nobody is looking at us," he said voice deep and smooth. "Just relax - I haven't felt you in days."
She hated when he said shit like that knowing damn well it could be taken another way. At this point, she was wondering if she was the real weirdo the way her vagina was telling her to jump his bones right then and there.
She cleared her throat. "Okay, but what did you want in your messages?"
He didn't say anything for a few seconds, just traced the lines on her palm.
"Namjoon I have to go soon."
"I know."
"Then tell me why you're really here."
"Just wanted to see when you could come over again," he mumbled, so quiet she almost couldn't hear it over the sounds of the cafe.
Her breath caught in her throat.
"That's it?"
"Did I need another reason?"
She didn't expect him to want her back over so soon. Normally he only requested a session once a week or every other week. This was new.
"I'm not really sure...I'm fully booked on Mondays and Thursdays, I work here every Wednesday and on the weekends, and classes take up my Tuesdays and Fridays."
He finally looked up at her, fingers still twisting with hers.
"You could always go to class or work from mines in the morning. I could have the car drop you off."
She pulled her hand away - his words sounding a little too domestic for her liking. They were breaching forbidden territory and she knew she couldn't let it get any further. He was her employer and she had a strict duty to uphold.
"Staying over was a one time thing Namjoon."
"It doesn't have to be though," he argued.
"You're forgetting that this is an actual job for me."
He lifted his black cap to run his hand through his hair. She could tell he was growing frustrated.
"Why are you getting upset?"
"You basically just told me you don't have time for me, and when I come up with a solution you shut me down," he gritted, through clenched teeth.
Her coworker's voice across the room cut their conversation, "Eden are you back soon? We just got a huge online order."
She sighed. She hated leaving the conversation like this, but she had priorities and she couldn't put this one at the top of her list right now.
"Look, I'll text you when I get my phone back. We can work something out then."
Raising from her seat she gave him a small bow before going back to clock in.
"Who were you chatting with?" her coworker Mina asked, bumping her shoulder playfully.
"Just someone from school. No one special."
Mina shifted to the tip of her toes to get a better look in Namjoon's direction. "Ooo is he cute?!"
"Can you put the stickers on the cups for me?" Eden rushed out, attempting to divert her attention from the idol. "I'll get the food ready."
"Sure thing!"
She could feel Namjoon's stare on her as she worked, but she refused to look his way. He had this way of convincing her to do things with a simple look in his eye, and Eden knew if she looked at him now, she'd fold like a pretzel.
It wasn't until she caught a glimpse of him walking past the counter and the sound of the bell that she allowed her shoulders to relax.
She could finally think again.
⠂⠄⠄⠂⠁⠁⠂⠄⠄⠂⠁⠁⠂⠄⠄⠂ ⠂⠄⠄⠂☆
The rest of her shift went by quickly, mostly consisting of cleaning, and making a latte here and there. An easy night she was grateful for considering the amount of pain her body was in. She didn't even party that hard and still she was feeling the effects.
After waving goodbye to Mina, she headed to the station. Hongdae wasn't exactly close to the cafe, so if she wanted to catch the last train, she'd have to get a move on.
Even though it was late the streets were still filled with people. Coworkers going for night caps, students hunting for cheap food, couples stumbling around hand in hand doing kdrama level pda.
Nothing out of the usual.
By the time she stood outside of the sleazy club from last night, patrons were already lined up at the door, ID's in hand, feining for entry. Her eyes scanned the line that wrapped around the building. Girls in their little dresses, guys looking for their next hookup, a random group of ajusshis definitely out of place.
Yeah absolutely not. She was not standing in this line.
She walked right past them and approached the bouncer.
"Excuse me," she said politely. "I left my phone here last night and was wondering if I could just run in and grab it?"
The massive bald man looked down at her with a cold stare. "Back of the line."
Eden blinked.
"Sir I don't think you heard me I just need to grab my pho-"
"Back! of! the! line!"
She jumped back, his voice startling her.
Oh so he was one of those.
"I just need to grab my phone you can literally walk me in and out!" she argued, not taking no for an answer.
"I said Bac-"
"Yejoon," a new voice cut in calmly. "Let her in."
Eden peered behind the bouncer, mouth dry as she locked eyes with one of the sexiest men she's ever laid eyes on.
He was a tall glass of water dressed in all black. Tattoos peeking beneath his rolled sleeves and open collar.
He beckoned her forward, his fingers moving in a come hither motion.
He could definitely do that again in her pus-
Her thoughts were cut off.
"You comin?"
She blinked. Right. He was letting her in.
Eden followed the man into the nightclub. The loud music blaring from the speakers giving her flashbacks of the night before. Never did she think she'd be back here again so soon.
They walked behind the bar until they reached an office. It was a nice size, tucked away in the back hall. He gestured for her to have a seat while shutting the door, '2 on' by Tinashe completely drowned out now.
He settled in the chair across from her.
"So you're the girl who's phone has been going haywire on my desk all day."
Eden winced. "That bad?"
"Considered throwing it against the wall a few times."
"Valid."
He leaned back.
"Popular girl."
The teasing in his voice made her squint.
"You didn't think to answer any of the calls?"
"Not my place."
She couldn't argue with that.
Holding out her hand she smiled, "Well thanks for keeping it safe. Lord knows I've been going crazy without it."
He opened his drawer and retrieved her phone. Then paused.
"Interesting profession by the way. I could use a cuddle session or two."
Her eyes narrowed. "What happened to not your place?"
The man shrugged, a look of amusement on his face. "Curiosity killed the cat."
She hated how attractive he was.
"What exactly do you do around here?" she asked. "You the manager?"
"Owner."
Of course he was. Everything about him screamed it.
She accepted her phone and stood, "In that case I have a complaint."
His brow lifted.
"Y'all need way more stalls in the bathroom. Three definitely doesn't cut it."
He rubbed his chin in consideration.
"I'll keep that in mind."
A comfortable silence fell between them. Well comfortable to him.
Eden squirmed in her chair, hyperaware of his stare. She sprung from her chair when she couldn't take it any longer. "I should get going. Thanks for holding my phone."
He followed her to the door towering over her as he held it open. 'Sexy Nukim' now at full volume. She groaned internally, of course Namjoon would haunt her at a time like this.
The strong scent of his expensive cologne brought her back to the moment.
"I was serious, you know."
"About what?"
"Booking."
Eden laughed. He had jokes.
"I guess you'll just have to find me."
He bit his lip, "Oh I definitely will."
Her smile fell from her face. Oh he was serious.
Heat rising up her neck she sped walked out of the room before she could say anything else stupid. His gaze following her all the way outside.
What a gorgeous, gorgeous man.
⠂⠄⠄⠂⠁⠁⠂⠄⠄⠂⠁⠁⠂⠄⠄⠂ ⠂⠄⠄⠂☆
Namjoon looked down at his phone with a frown. It had been two days since his talk with Eden and she still hadn't texted back.
rpwprpwp: Did you not get your phone back?
rpwprpwp: Hello?
rpwprpwp: If you don't text back I'm going to assume your phone is gone and send you money for a new one.
He got a response two minutes later. Of course that got her attention.
gardenofeden: Do not do that...
Namjoon could feel his blood start to boil. That was all she had to say?
rpwprpwp: You've had your phone this whole time?
rpwprpwp: Why are you still ignoring me?
He knew he sounded obsessed, but he just couldn't understand the sudden change in behavior. They had such a good session last time, and now she couldn't give him the time of day.
He looked at the date on his phone and sighed. They were leaving for a short trip to film some things tomorrow and he was hoping to have a session with her before then, but it seemed impossible.
gardenofeden: Not ignoring you
gardenofeden: Just been busy
She was driving him crazy. Why was she being so short?
rpwprpwp: Come over tonight?
gardenofeden: I have homework
rpwprpwp: Bring it with you
Namjoon rolled around in his bed waiting for a response that never came. After an hour, he sat up dejected.
At this rate he was never going to sleep again.
Trudging to the living room he sat in his normal spot and turned the tv on. If he was going to be up all night he might as well find something good to watch. He was debating between starting a new show or watching YouTube when his doorbell sounded.
His whole body relaxed when he saw the familiar orange hair on the intercom.
She came.
Holding his composure he opened the door cooly. "Hey."
She returned his greeting and slipped inside.
She was in her pajamas, a pair of snorlax sleep pants and an oversized black hoodie. Cute.
Namjoon took notice of the large black bag on her back, "You really brought your homework?"
She looked up at him through her curls as she traded her converse for slippers. "Yeah, you said it was cool right?"
"Right."
Humming softly she walked into his living room clearing the table off like she was right at home. He watched fondly as she set up her work station in front of his usual spot.
"I won't be able to cuddle you right now, but I figured any type of contact was better than none so I thought I could sit between your legs?"
He thought for a second. A few weeks ago he would have been completely fine with that, the pressure of their thighs touching doing it for him. But now? He wasn't so sure. Their last couple of sessions changed the game.
Not wanting to make things difficult he agreed. It wasn't like it would be that way the whole time.
"Sounds good."
He settled into the couch, placing a cushion on the floor in front of him to give her some kind of comfortability. He watched as she sank down between his legs, the moment she rested between them he knew it wasn't going to work. He could barely feel her.
He tapped the side of her neck, "Mm mm scooch up. I'll sit behind you."
She moved up without a word, creating enough space for him to slip behind her on the floor. His chest connecting with her back. He wrapped his arms around her waist, head resting in the crook of her neck. Her usual smell of vanilla and brown sugar taking over.
This was better.
They sat there for a while, unmoving, just taking in each other's presence before she leaned forward attempting to break his hold.
"I have to sit up to take notes."
"Pull the table closer," he muttered into her neck, lips brushing against her slightly.
He took the hint when she pushed forward again, much stronger than the last.
"Just let me take notes from this video and respond to the discussion post. Then I can sit back," she said, looking over her shoulder.
He let her go. "Fine."
Body twisted, he reached behind him for the remote. Might as well find something to keep him busy. He scrolled through his apps looking for something until a familiar title caught his eye.
Scandal
He peered at the girl in front of him. She had her headphones on dialed in to her lecture.
Maybe he'd see what all the hype was about.
Once the show was on he moved his hips forward a little bit to lean further back into the couch. His hands rested on Eden's sides rubbing small circles on her hips.
Surely the lecture wouldn't be that long.
⠂⠄⠄⠂⠁⠁⠂⠄⠄⠂⠁⠁⠂⠄⠄⠂ ⠂⠄⠄⠂☆
Eden was in agony.
She hadn't been able to focus since she stepped foot into Namjoon's. It had been one of the many reasons she didn't want to come over tonight, but the guilt of blowing him off for days was eating her alive, so she sucked it up and came over. Dragging herself and her two ton backpack halfway across Seoul.
What she didn't expect was this version of him greeting her.
Soft, quiet, and needy.
She had gotten a glimpse of it the last time they were together, but it was quickly shut down by the version of him she knew. The difficult version of Namjoon. The asshole. The stubborn man who argued just to argue.
This was just unsettling.
The feeling of his hands resting on her hips broke her concentration. She could no longer focus on the PESO Model, the only thing running through her mind - the hands burning a hole through her sweatshirt.
She looked down at the timestamp of her lecture.
42:34.
New record. She was impressed she lasted that long.
Headphones off, her ears perked up at the familiar voice of Olivia Pope.
She squealed, "Omg you started Scandal?!"
Namjoon jerked awake behind her.
She turned to the side giving the man an apologetic look. "I didn't realize you were asleep," she winced.
Reaching forward he pulled her legs over his lap, hugging her closer. "It's okay baby I wasn't fully asleep."
She pushed her head off his chest, "Stop calling me that."
"Sorry. Just a habit," he mumbled into her hair, eyes still closed.
A habit from where? She didn't know.
She took in his appearance. Back all hunched over and eyes droopy. He couldn't be comfortable on the floor like this.
"Come on, let's move to the couch."
She stood first, turning off the tv, then pulled him to follow. His body hit the couch, arms open to invite her in. She crawled in beside him facing his chest. His large hand resting on her back.
"Sorry I had to bring my homework."
Namjoon's hands continued their movemenst. "It's okay," he murmured. "Just glad you came."
Her shoulders relaxed at his admission. She was glad she came too.
"Have you been sleeping ?"
"A little. Not like when I was next to you though."
Her face tightened. "Namjoon that's not healthy."
"I know."
"I'm not going to be around all the time to help you."
He stayed silent.
"You're going to have to make this insomnia your bitch one day Joon."
"You don't think I've tried?"
"I'm not saying that."
"Then stop talking about it."
Eden didn't say anything else, not in the mood to argue. She knew how to pick her battles, and she'd much rather deal with this version of Namjoon than his asshole side.
She flipped her body around so her back was against his chest. Surprisingly he didn't say anything, just let her get comfortable.
"I didn't mean to snap at you."
"I know."
"I know you were just trying to hel-"
She cut him off, "Just sleep Namjoon."
Neither of them spoke again. The silence saying enough for the both of them.
Soon enough his breathing evened out. The sounds of his soft snores in her ear.
As much as she wanted to join him, she still had work to do.
AirPods in and lecture video pulled up, she attempted to focus, making it through another good chunk of her notes, before once again, the universe interfered.
*NEW MESSAGE REQUEST!*
moonxkairo: Told you I was serious about booking
She stopped breathing. It couldn't be...
moonxkairo: took me like an hour to find you but I'm always up for a challenge.
She clicked his profile photo to get a better look. It didn't show his face, but the tattoos were undeniable. It was him.
gardenofeden: You're insane
moonxkairo: I told you I was curious
moonxkairo: Your fault for not believing me
gardenofeden: Well you've came and you saw
moonxkairo: But I didn't book
gardenofeden: There are plenty of wonderful cuddlers on here for you
moonxkairo: Yeah...
moonxkairo: But I want you
Her face grew hot. What was up with men being so forward these days?
gardenofeden: You'll have to get in line
moonxkairo: So how does next Saturday sound? I have a pretty comfy couch.
gardenofeden: Stranger Danger
moonxkairo: Cute
moonxkairo: I'll send you my address
gardenofeden: I literally don't even know your name...
moonxkairo: It's Kai
moonxkairo: See you Saturday
Eden stared at the screen. This man was ridiculous.
Super attractive, but ridiculous.
Before she could think of a response, movement behind her pulled her attention away. She forgot where she was for a second. His grip on her waist had tightened, pulling her body closer to his like they weren't close enough.
She gave up on studying.
There wasn't much time left in their session anyway, and she definitely couldn't do anything with his iron grip, so she accepted her fate and relaxed into him.
Her timer went off an hour later causing her to groan quietly, she had just started to drift off. Hand on the bridge of her nose she let out a deep sigh before pushing herself up. Quickly, she gathered her things and headed for the door.
"Eden?"
She froze. So much for a successful escape.
"I'm heading out."
She could see the disappointment immediately.
"You really can't stay?"
For a terrifying second she almost sat back down.
Almost.
"You know I can't," she sighed. "We talked about this."
His jaw clenched.
"Doesn't mean I like it."
It was like he knew exactly what he needed to say to make her stay, but once again she ignored all of the noise in her head, and followed her gut instead.
"Well you're going to have to. It's just how this works."
She retreated from the penthouse before he could say another word.
He was dangerous. Too dangerous for her.
⠂⠄⠄⠂⠁⠁⠂⠄⠄⠂⠁⠁⠂⠄⠄⠂ ⠂⠄⠄⠂☆
She was bored and needed some excitement in her life.
Nothing more, nothing less.
That's what she told herself as she stood outside of the club owners third floor apartment, rocking back and forth on her heels.
She would be lying if she said she wasn't a little nervous.
When she got a text with the address earlier that morning she fully prepared to ignore him and go on about her life.
Then Sunhi got involved.
"Come on E! Aren't you a tiny bit curious?!" she said, voice bouncing off the bathroom walls.
The roles had reversed. It was her turn to bug Eden while she was in the shower.
"I don't have the time Sun. Plus, he just looks like trouble."
"Those are the best kind of men!"
"And how many of those men have worked out for you?" Eden called over the shower curtain as she shaved her legs.
"I- that's not the point!" she said, gagged. "The point is the fact that you have this sexy ass man asking you to come over and cuddle and you're just blocking your own blessings! I see how robotic you've been moving lately E and it's not healthy."
Eden could hear a hint of concern in her friend's voice at the end of her sentence.
It was kind of true. She had been moving a little weird lately, the cost of staying booked and busy. She had developed a routine over the past few weeks since she started her cuddle buddy journey and every day she stuck to it.
The only anomaly being Namjoon.
Most days she felt like she was on a never ending merry go round, then he'd text with an "urgent" request to have a session and throw her all off balance. But she liked when that happened. In a way he always kept her on her toes.
But Namjoon was gone, and had been for a few days.
"I just don't want to jump into this and be disappointed." she spoke, as she wrapped herself in a towel and stepped out the shower. "I've had such good luck with both of the guys I have now that I'm scared he'll be the one to ruin it all."
Sunhi's eyes softened.
"Look I know you're a firm believer in 'if it ain't broke, don't fiddle with it' but I think this could be good for you."
"I don't know Sun."
Sunhi followed behind Eden as she made her way to her room. "You're getting paid to cuddle an unbelievably sexy man E. You have to do it so I can live through you!"
"You could easily sign up to do it yourself."
"Not as exciting if I do it."
"Like I said I'm not sure. Let's just drop it for now."
The longer the day went on, the different her answer was. An 'I'm not sure' turned into a maybe, turned into 'I'm thinking about it', into 'I'm on my way over there now.'
The click of the door brought her back to the present. It swung open revealing Kai in all of his glory, decked out in the sluttiest outfit a man could wear.
A compression shirt and sweats.
She stared a little too long.
"I knew you'd come."
"I was bored."
The corner of his mouth twitched.
"Sure you were."
Stepping aside, he motioned for her to come in.
"I got everything all set up."
Eden followed him inside and immediately could see why he chose the place. It suited him entirely too well.
Massive factory windows stretched almost floor to ceiling, the city lights spilling inside painting the brick walls in warm light. The black metal railing framing the staircase and loft felt right at home with the hard wood beneath her feet. Everything felt so expensive, but lived in at the same time.
A large black leather sofa lined the living room sitting on top of a vintage style rug. He had books on floating shelves lining one wall, framed art scattered everywhere, and even an area with vinyls littered on the wall. It all fit perfectly, everything spaced just right so nothing felt cluttered.
His tv was huge. Like a movie theater screen, and Eden couldn't help but imagine herself cuddled up in a blanket on the couch watching a movie.
The apartment was attractive.
Just like the owner.
It was hard to believe an apartment building like this was in the same area as Namjoon's penthouse. For them to be almost five minutes away from each other the vibes were completely different.
She followed the man deeper into the house until they were in the living room.
Kai dropped onto the couch first, his arm spread out on the back cushion.
Then he smiled at her.
"I'm nervous."
Eden's steps faltered.
He was nervous? She was literally vibrating under his stare.
"I should be the one that's nervous," she argued. "Stranger danger remember?"
His laugh was low and warm. "Well here's a start.
She followed his gaze to the coffee table. A woven basket perched in the center filled with all of her favorite snacks.
Pepero, honey butter chips, oreos.
All things she vaguely remembered listing on her cuddle buddies profile.
Folded beside it was the fluffiest blanket she'd ever seen.
She laughed in surprise, "You actually read that?"
"Couldn't get the American candy, but I'll have it by your next visit."
She lifted a brow. Next visit? He was confident for sure.
"You don't have to do that. This is way more than enough, thank you."
"I'm glad you like it."
He leaned forward to grab the remote.
"Want to watch a movie?"
She thanked the heavens above. Finally a session with some entertainment.
"That sounds great."
"How does Transformers sound?"
"Never seen it."
His eyebrows scrunched in confusion, "How have you never seen transformers?"
She shrugged. It had never been on her list of things to get into.
"That's actually criminal."
"It's that good?"
"A cinematic masterpiece. We are watching it."
His back was turned as he got up to set everything up for them. She leaned back and watched as he made a spread of the snacks on the table and unwrapped the blanket.
"You cool adding an hour? The movie is kind of long."
She glanced around the apartment looking at the snacks, the blanket, the movie, the man...
"That's cool."
The anxiety of the real reason she was here came rushing back. She still had to cuddle this man.
When he sat back down he looked across the couch at her expectantly like he was waiting on something.
"Do you come to me or do I come to you?"
Her cheeks were on fire at his words, and her hands were shaking but she managed to grab the folder out of her bag.
"The basic positions are on the first three pages."
He sat for a moment flipping through the pages before he got to the end.
"These aren't available?"
"Oh those are for repeat clients."
He hummed. "Interesting, the butt pillow definitely looks tempting."
She was going to kill Sun.
"How about you drape your legs over my lap for now. Then we can spoon when you get done snacking."
She nodded her head afraid if she talked she'd ruin the moment.
"Here."
He shifted closer then gently lifted her legs and settled them across his lap.
The blanket followed a second later, draping over the both of them.
"Comfortable?"
Eden swallowed.
"Yeah."
He handed her a box of pepero before prompting her to rest her head against his chest. His hand resting on the blanket where her knee was.
For a while they watched the movie and every so often his fingers drifted along the outside of her leg. Nothing inappropriate or anything she would complain about, but each pass still made her hyperaware of where he was touching.
The movie didn't really catch her interest, but she forced herself to focus on that rather than his touch and the smell of his cologne.
They were halfway through the movie when he was ready to spoon. He laid down first before Eden made her way down in front of him arm stretching behind them for a quick moment.
"Before we get comfortable." Eden plucked the throw pillow from above their heads and placed it between them as a barrier. "Safety first."
Kai stared at the pillow.
Then at her.
Then back at the pillow.
"Cute."
His arm wrapped around her waist pulling her flesh against him.
This was exactly why she needed the pillow.
No longer interested in the movie she inspected the piece that covered his whole arm.
The body of a dragon curled around his forearm in intricate detail, soaring through falling petals of a sakura tree, a lone warrior standing on its back.
"You can touch it. I don't mind."
She didn't have to be told twice.
Her fingertips followed the curve of the dragon's body, tracing the individual scales etched into his skin.
"What made you choose this?
He looked down at her, eyes softening for a split second before they returned to normal.
For a moment, something flickered across his face.
An emotion Eden couldn't quite pinpoint. Just something heavier than what she's seen from him so far.
"It's a story for another time," he said softly.
She nodded. Whatever the meaning was behind the tattoo clearly wasn't first session territory so she let it go.
Her hand fell back to her side as she returned her attention to the movie once more.
"Would you ever get a tattoo?"
She looked up at him with a smile.
"I actually have some."
His eyes locked with hers.
"Really? Where?"
"Just a few small ones scattered around." she shrugged. "I don't think I could commit to a huge piece or a sleeve yet."
"You definitely seem like the type to overthink for a few years before committing to anything."
She gave him a playful push.
"I'll have you know I got a few of these on a whim."
He raised his hands in surrender, "Okay, okay my bad for assuming."
"Serves you right."
By the time the credits were rolling, Eden was fighting a yawn. She hadn't realized how late it had gotten, or how much of the movie they spent talking.
Kai spoke as she rose up from the couch. "You may have gotten away with not watching the whole thing this time, but we will be watching number two next time. No distractions."
She rolled her eyes. "Whatever you say."
She helped clean up before she gathered her things to leave. He insisted she leave the blanket for their next cuddle sessions which she was happy to oblige.
As she slipped her shoes on by the door, she found herself looking back toward the living room.
The blanket was still draped over the couch, snack basket half empty on the coffee table, and the tv ready to play the second movie.
A few hours ago she was convinced everything and anything would go wrong. Instead, they spent half of the movie talking and laughing.
She caught herself smiling.
Somehow, it had all felt easy.
Eden stood in the doorway of his apartment unsure of how she should say goodbye. She wanted to express that she had a good time, but didn't want him to take it the wrong way. Lucky for her he took the reins.
"Get home safe."
"I will."
He played with a curl on her shoulder.
"Text me when you get there?"
Eden laughed.
"What are you my dad?"
"No," he agreed.
His fingers released her curl.
"But if something happens to you, I wouldn't know who to contact for my refund.
Her mouth opened in shock, a few breathy laughs filling the hallway. "Oh fuck you!"
He waved her off with a smile.
"See you next time little red."
Shaking her head, Eden turned towards the stairwell door with a dumb grin on her face.
So annoying.
She took her time walking down the stairs, so caught up in the night she just had she didn't notice the man passing her had stopped to stare.
"Eden?"
She froze.
"You're Eden right?"
She turned slowly meeting the eyes of no other than Jungkook.
Her breath caught in her throat. "W-what are you doing here?"
"Uhh I own the building...What are you doing here?"
She knew whatever she answered she would be in a lose-lose situation. If she told him the truth he'd for sure know who she was just with, but if she lied it opened up a lot of different doors for assumptions.
She chose the latter.
"I was working."
Jungkook frowned.
"Working?"
"Yep."
"With Kai?"
How the fuck did he know that?!
She tried to play it off. "Sorry can't answer that."
Jungkook laughed.
"He's the only other person living in the building right now. My other tenants are idols on tour."
Eden closed her eyes for a second.
Of course.
"It's alright I won't bring it up to him if I see him."
She immediately relaxed.
"I would appreciate that."
"No problem. Cuddle buddy confidentiality, right?"
"Exactly."
He pulled his phone out like he remembered something.
"You should stop by Rapmon Hyung's. All he did was complain the whole trip about not having you nearby for a session."
Eden's stomach dropped a little.
Right. Namjoon.
She had completely pushed him out of her brain for the night.
"Actually I can call him right now! I'm sure he'd be glad to see you."
She almost jumped to grab the phone out of his hand.
"No no no! No need. I'm sure he'll text me if he needs me!"
Jungkook looked at her weirdly as she waved her hands around frantically trying to keep him from calling his friend.
"Okay..."
"It's just we have a process you know?" she chuckled nervously.
"That makes sense. I know hyung can be a little anal sometimes."
"Exactlyyy you get it!" she said. "Well if you'll excuse me I think my cab is outside."
"Okay see you."
She started to move before pausing once more. "Oh Jungkook?!"
He peered back over his shoulder. "Yeah?"
"Can you not tell Namjoon you saw me? You know client confidentiality and stuff."
He smiled, his bunny teeth on display.
"Of course. Your secret is safe with me."
She returned the smile before taking the stairs down two at a time.
What a close one.

The FaceTime call rang three times as Jungkook walked in front of his large window that overlooked the city and the ground below.
On the fourth ring Namjoon's face filled the camera, hair wet from his shower.
"What's up?"
"Hyung you would not believe who I just saw..."

Eden walked down the street with a little pep in her step as she neared Dawoon's apartment. It was Monday and she was ten minutes late.
And Dawoon didn't do late.
Eden learned that over the last three sessions they've had. Dawoon lived by his routine, down to the minute, and her being late could throw off his whole schedule. Every Monday and Thursday she always made sure to plan her day around their sessions to ensure she would be right on time, but unfortunately for her every worst possible thing that could have happened today did and she was paying the price for it. Now she was standing outside of his door hoping and praying he wouldn't freak out on her.
Out of breath, she straightened herself out before giving the door three slow knocks.
It opened immediately.
Dawoon stood there looking stressed. His hair disheveled, eyes filled with anxiety, and his hands balled up at his sides. She could tell he had been pacing. Her tardiness definitely the cause.
"Dawoon I am so sorry!" She rushed out, exchanging her shoes for slippers. "The bus was late."
He didn't answer. His eyes darting from hers to the clock. His fingers busy squeezing at his arm for comfort like he did the night they met. This went on for a minute before he finally let out an admission, his voice soft. "I thought you forgot about me."
Her heart dropped. He didn't even know that her sessions with him had become the highlight of her week. She could never forget about him. Her cuddle sessions with Dawoon had slowly turned into therapy. Her the client, him her honest and blunt therapist. She couldn't recall what prompted the change, but she knew Mondays and Thursdays were now easily her favorite days of the week, and she hated he felt that way.
"How could I forget someone as cool as you?" She said, giving him an exaggerated pout hoping to put his mind at ease.
It seemed to work because a goofy grin broke out on the man's face instantly, "I am pretty cool."
Eden let out a laugh, the tension breaking as she climbed into his bed. The fresh smell of laundry overwhelmed her in the best way as she made herself comfortable. The smell always encouraging her to melt into his sheets. She loved this smell. Almost as much as her new found love for sandalwood and amber. Namjoon's smell.
It had been a week since their last session. A week of no texts and the lingering feeling of guilt for chatting the whole time when she should have been encouraging him to sleep.
Had she talked too much?
Was she fired?
Was he upset?
The bed dipped beside her as Dawoon settled under his weighted blanket. She waited for his little nod, the signal he was ready, before wrapping her body around him giving him a big squeeze. His body relaxed in her hold instantly.
"Hey Dawoon," she whispered after a few moments.
"Yes."
"What would it take for you to never book with me again?"
He shrugged, "I don't know. Probably if you stunk. Or if your voice was annoying like this girl's in my class."
She gasped, "Wowwww! So you'd fire me if my voice was annoying?"
"Yes," he answered. No hesitation at all.
What a brutal man.
"Why do you ask? Is this about my counterpart?"
Eden laughed. Dawoon had been calling Namjoon his counterpart ever since she started ranting about their sessions to him. He had been treating the idol like his evil twin. "I haven't heard from him in a while. Just wondering if I'm fired that's all"
"If he wanted to fire you he would have fired you when you called him a dickhead to his face."
She winced. He did have a good point. Namjoon had countless of opportunities to fire her. Like the time she fell asleep or the day she showed up unbeknownst to him. Maybe she was just thinking too much into it.
"You're right. He's probably just busy." The media had been buzzing lately with rumors of a BTS comeback. She was sure he was probably just swamped with his duties as an idol.
Her excuse for him still not easing the embarrassment of jumping at every notification, thinking it was him.
"If you're so curious just text him first," Dawoon murmured. "What's the worst he can say?"
There were a million things Namjoon could say that would probably make her want to bury herself alive, but she couldn't admit that out loud. "I don't know...Fuck off?"
"He wouldn't say that," Dawoon sighed. "You're a nice person."
His words hit her harder than she knew he intended. She squeezed him tighter. "Thanks Dawoon. You give me too much credit."
"I'm not. You are nice," he nodded. "Nice people shouldn't be cursed at."
She smiled.
"I don't think he believes that, but maybe I can convince him yeah?"
"Yeah."

The sounds of tapping fingers and Jungkook's hums filled the HYBE conference room as they waited for their meeting with the concept team to start. The group was having a hard time finalizing a tracklist for the album. They had over 200 songs to choose from, so it was suggested they held a meeting to pick a final concept to guide them in the right direction.
Namjoon was running off of an hour of sleep and pure adrenaline. Him, Yoongi, and Hoseok had been in the studio with producers for days deliberating and tweaking songs. The only difference between Namjoon and the rest of rapline was the fact that they went home and got a good nights sleep. Namjoon didn't even leave the Hybe building once this week. His apartment collecting dust and his plants left to be watered by Mr. Song at the front desk.
He knew by the way everyone gave him looks of sympathy and worry that he looked horrible. His own reflection scaring him every time he passed by a mirror. His face pale and sunken in, the bags under his eyes more prominent.
The conference room soon filled with bodies and mood boards, none Namjoon could bring himself to focus on. The sounds of their voices had long been replaced by a pounding in his head. A migraine settling right into his temples taking all of his attention away from the task at hand.
From across the table Yoongi looked at him with concern etched deep into his face. He could always tell when Namjoon was in pain because the man would unknowingly scrunch his eyebrows together and hold a slight grimace on his face. No longer able to see his friend in obvious pain he cut the meeting, "Let's take fifteen."
Reluctantly, the staff agreed stepping outside of the room to give them privacy.
As soon as the door of the conference room clicked shut, six pairs of eyes turned to Namjoon with looks of worry.
"Hyung you need to go rest," Jungkook spoke out, voice cracking. The corner of his eyes brimmed with tears. He always had a soft spot when it came to Namjoon and seeing him hurt made him hurt too.
Putting on a brave face Namjoon waved the boy's concern off, "Hyung is okay Kook-ah. Don't cry."
Yoongi wasn't having it today, "Namjoon give me your phone so I can call Eden. This has gone on too long."
Something snapped in Namjoon.
"I don't need a girl to sleep Yoongi! I just need this whole process to be fucking over," he exclaimed, annoyed at the fact they thought Eden was just going to solve all of his problems.
"Bullshit Namjoon! You are tired and need to go home." Hoseok shot from his side of the table, his voice low by a few octaves so you knew he was being serious.
Namjoon ran his hands over his face, irritated that they all were trying to tell him what to do, "There's too much shit to do I can't just fucking leave."
"But you can and you will," Hoseok replied sternly. "You aren't ANY fucking help if you're a walking zombie Namjoon. Stop being so stubborn and take care of yourself for gods sake!"
The slam of Hoseok's hand against the table caused everyone to flinch. He was always scary when he was upset, but he never directed his anger towards a member like this, let alone Namjoon.
Looking around the room his heart broke looking at the faces of his brothers. Jungkook and Jimin were crying silent tears while the rest of the members tried to calm them. The rest of his protests long forgotten.
"Go home Namjoon."
His shoulders dropped in defeat. He didn't want to leave, but he didn't have much of a choice. His presence wasn't doing anything but making the atmosphere unbearable to be in.
Standing, he gave them a quick nod of his head and left the room. The staff in the hallway jumping at his sudden departure.
He called a car to the front and sat in silence the whole way home, admiring the people who walked the streets of Seoul living their day to day lives not even knowing who was in the car riding past them.
A flash of ginger hair on the sidewalk brought back memories of Eden's soft, fluffy curls and warm vanilla shampoo.
He remembered the way her body melted and molded into his the second he wrapped his arms around her.
How she fit as if she was made just for him.
How he fell asleep from the warmth of her body against his.
How he slept.
He didn't want to need her, but right now he didn't have much of a choice.
Fuck it.
rpwprpwp: Need you tonight.
He tossed his phone on the seat next to him letting out a deep sigh. He could have worded his text differently or elaborated a little more, but he didn't have time for that nor did he care. She knew what he meant.
His phone buzzed not even a minute later.
gardenofeden: On my way.
Relief pooled in his stomach.
Simple and straight to the point. He liked that. He wasn't up for the back and forth of it all tonight.
When he got home he immediately beelined to the bathroom for a shower. Always finding comfort in pretending he could wash the day away under the pellets of water. Steam quickly curled up against the glass of his shower door - a sign the water was probably a little too hot, but he ignored it on a mission for any type of relief.
His muscles twitched beneath the spray of scalding water running down his back. He rolled his shoulders in a feeble attempt to alleviate the knots in them, days of endless work and tension finally catching up to him. His body sagged forward, his head resting on the cool tile. His eyelids were heavy. Too heavy. Everything inside of him screaming for sleep, but he knew it wouldn't come. Not without-
He pushed the thought away. His lack of sleep had his mind all messed up.
He stayed leaned like that for a while just letting the water run down his body as he let out shallow breaths. The burning sensation behind his eyes was back, taunting him of his lack of sleep.
He scrubbed through his routine blindly, hand missing his shampoo bottle three times. The weight of his body grew heavier the longer he stood there. His knees threatening to buckle at any minute. Pushing himself off the wall he cut the water off and stepped out.
The cold air outside of the glass walls cleared the haze from his head, grounding him long enough for him to dry off and pull on a pair of sweats and a shirt. He couldn't have been bothered to do anything else.
Eden arrived just as he walked out of his room. The loud melody of the doorbell announcing her arrival. He froze, eyes shifting to the intercom. There she was biting her lip again. A habit of hers he couldn't get behind.
Another wave of nausea hit, pushing him forward. He unlocked the door and pulled it open, breaking the barrier between them.
They locked eyes.
Her eyes instantly softened as she took in the sight of him, the worry in them unmistakable. He despised pity, most people finding themselves victim to a harsh glare or muttered curse. With Eden though, he didn't feel the same. It was almost endearing...like he was flattered she cared.
Her soft voice broke their staring contest. "Why didn't you call me sooner Namjoon?"
⠂⠄⠄⠂⠁⠁⠂⠄⠄⠂⠁⠁⠂⠄⠄⠂ ⠂⠄⠄⠂☆
The man in front of her looked nothing like the Namjoon she was used to. Since she's known him Insomnia was always present in his looks, but this was different. The crescents under his eyes had grown darker, his skin was pale and tight with pain, his body hunched over like he could barely hold himself up. His eyes didn't even look focused or alert. His stare far away as if he was looking through her and not at her.
When he didn't answer, Eden pushed past him gently to step into the penthouse. The sound of her shuffling into the extra pair of slippers filling the quiet space. When she heard the soft click of the door behind her, she turned her attention back to him.
Namjoon was leaning with his back against the door and his eyes closed. His knees bent like they couldn't bear to hold him up any longer.
"Namjoon?" Worried, she rushed over wrapping her arm around his waist before he could slide down the wall. His skin burning under her hand, the deep cut of his muscle shirt offering no coverage. "Hey...what's going on?" She whispered softly, steadying him.
He sagged into her touch, unsteady. She guided him towards the couch, shifting their weight causing her to stumble a few times. They had almost made it when he shook his head no. "Bedroom," he murmured, voice rough.
She threw away her number one rule of staying in a neutral place when she noticed the tremble of his legs and his face pinched with pain. He needed to be comfortable.
Eden walked down the hallway holding up as much of his weight as she could, glancing up at him every now and then to make sure he was okay on their journey. When they reached his room Namjoon grimaced sharply, something in the space bothering him.
"Hey," she murmured, squeezing his side to get his attention. "What's wrong?"
"Too much light."
Of course it was the lights. The soft lighting of the living room transitioned into harsh florescent lighting the second they stepped into his room. He had the big light on instead of the bedside lamps. Scrambling, she guided him onto the bed gently before running around the room to fix the lighting.
"Is this better? I have a client who likes dim lighting during our sessions too, so don't hesitate to tell me if it needs to be darker."
"S'fine," he said, jaw clenched.
She walked over to his side of the bed and pulled back his blanket, her voice softening. "Here. Get under, and I'll get behind you. We can spoon tonight."
He didn't argue. He just collapsed on the mattress like he couldn't sit up anymore, slipping beneath the covers without hesitation. Once he was okay, she crawled into bed behind him and wrapped her arm lightly around his waist.
Head rested on his back she didn't hesitate to breathe in his scent, the smell settling the worry in her chest. She wasn't prepared to see him like this. Whatever he'd been dealing with this week, paired with the insomnia, was eating him alive. And even though he was an asshole, seeing him unravel like this stung.
For a while they lay in silence, breathing in sync, until he abruptly groaned.
She blinked. She didn't realize he was still awake.
He sat up breaking their embrace.
"This is not working," he snapped. "My fucking head feels like it's going to explode."
She pushed herself up, eyes catching his in the dim light. They were glassy, pained, and unfocused.
"Have you taken any medicine?" She asked carefully.
He shot her a glare. "Obviously Eden."
Okay. Dumb question.
She scanned the room helpless. Lights already dim. The room quiet. He'd already taken medicine. And still he sat in pain, hands gripping his head, body rocking like he needed any kind of distraction from what was happening inside his skull.
Her gaze landed on her phone. Maybe Sunhi would know what to do.
"I'll be right back," she whispered, slipping into the hallway as quiet as she could.
Sunhi picked up on the first ring.
"Hey girl! You on your way home?"
The sweet sound of her friend's voice eased something in her chest.
"Hey Sun. I'm with a client and he's having a really bad headache. He's taken medicine, the lights are down, and it's quiet. What do I do?"
"Hmmm." She hummed thoughtfully. "Maybe a temple massage? Remember my mom used to give them to us when we were younger?"
Eden smacked her forehead. How didn't she think of that?
"Sun, you're a genius. I love you."
"I know," she said, voice cocky. Then whiny. "I am a little jealous though."
Eden's eyebrows shot up.
"...Why?"
"You get to have a hot man between your legs while you give him a massage!" Pout evident in her voice. "No fair."
Eden froze. Oh. Right. That position.
"Hello?? You still there E?"
"Yeah, I'm here."
Sunhi let out a dramatic groan, "Please dont do that thing where you think too much E! Just go with the flow and help the man out."
That was easy for her to say. She didn't have to go back into that bedroom and tell a very tall, handsome, and moody idol to get between her legs so she can make him feel better.
Maybe it didn't have to be worded like that, but still.
A soft groan traveled into the hall.
"Thanks Sun gotta go."
She hung up and walked back into the room. Her heart beating a mile a minute, the anxiety of the situation getting to her. She grabbed her folder of positions from her bag and climbed back into the bed, back against the headboard.
"Namjoon?" She whispered, terrified to be too loud.
He shifted, turning his head toward her. "Hm?"
"T-there's a cuddle position in my folder. If we position ourselves like it I could give your temples a massage. Only if you want it!" She rushed out, wincing at the slight raise of her voice.
He took the folder, barely glanced at the open page, and tossed it aside.
"That's fine," he muttered. "Open your legs."
She felt a pool of warmth rush to her lower body, 100% sure he got her a little wet with his words. Her face grew hot. She was a terrible person. This man was in pain and all she could think about was how she'd like him between her legs doing something else.
She obviously didn't move fast enough for him because his hands pulled her legs apart like it was nothing, and he settled his head right between her thighs.
Startled by his boldness, she looked at him slack jawed.
Did he have no shame?
Her hands ran through his hair, rubbing slow circles, starting the massage. He let out a deep, relieved hum. His scrunched eyebrows relaxing, his shoulders following soon after.
10 minutes into the massage his deep voice cut through the silence. "How much time's left?"
She paused, she hadn't started a timer. So caught up in trying to help.
"I can't lie...I forgot to track the time."
He looked up at her, his hand resting on her thigh to pull himself up. Jaw clenched like he was choosing his next words carefully.
Breaking eye contact, she absent mindedly continued to stroke his hair to distract herself from their position.
His hair was cut short, the tips dyed almost a silver blonde color. His hair pretty damn soft for someone who dyed it often.
"Can you forget the timer?" He murmured. "Just stay?"
Her eyes cut to him. He was asking her to spend the night?
"Namjoon-"
"I wouldn't be asking if I didn't need it Eden."
Her mind spun. This broke every rule she set for herself. Every rule of the service.
One could argue she's already spent the night, but that time was an accident. This time it would be intentional, and she didn't know if she could do that.
"How much money do you want?"
Her lip curled up in disgust. Now it just sounded like she was an escort or something.
"It's not about money. It's about professionalism."
He flipped his body. Head still between her thighs but he was on his stomach now.
"Nothing about this arrangement is professional Eden. Show me on any aptitude test where 'cuddler' is listed as a profession," he said annoyed. "I'm literally laid between your legs, inches away from your pussy and you're preaching about professionalism. What a joke."
Now he was just being rude. Pushing him away she climbed out of the bed, on the verge of tears.
He sighed, "Eden where are you going?"
"Home."
She grabbed her bag off the floor pushing through the door.
"Shit. I'm sorry just come back."
He was shuffling off the bed now. Eden not caring as she took adamant steps to the door.
"Eden can you just hold up a second damn!"
She made it to the hallway when her steps faltered giving Namjoon the opportunity to grab her arm. He turned her around, chest heaving as he tried to catch his breath.
She shoved him away. "Get the fuck off me."
He froze.
"You are actually so fucking rude. Do you know that?" Her voice shook. "I have been nothing but kind to you. I've been worried about you! And as soon as it comes to a boundary I have set for this job you treat me like a fucking prostitute and shit on a service YOU use!" She exclaimed, poking his chest. "You think I want to put myself in the position to cuddle strangers all the fucking time?! I do it because I have to!"
A tear slipped from her eye, face growing hot in anger. She didn't know why his words affected her so much, but something about the whole situation triggered her.
He stepped forward reaching out for her. She moved back, trembling.
"Eden," he whispered.
She shook her head, "No."
He took another step, and another. Then his arms wrapped around her, pulling her into his embrace, chin resting on her head.
She was crying harder now.
She hated how sensitive she was.
Hated how easily she folded into him.
This wasn't even that serious. She should have been able to just say fuck off and never see him again, but she always had a hard time saying no. Always had a hard time being mean, even if someone was mean to her.
"I'm sorry," he murmured into her hair. "Please don't cry baby."
If anyone saw them they'd think it was a lovers quarrel, but in reality they didn't know each other from a can of paint. Yet she still let the man hold her close and whisper small apologies.
Pulling back from his chest she wiped her tears, still trapped in his arms but not as close. "You're an asshole."
He chuckled softly and tugged her back into his chest. "I know baby I'm sorry," his large hand stroking her back.
There he went with 'baby' again. He was so confusing. Dealing with him gave her whiplash. One minute he was a complete asshole and the next he was soft and comforting. She really didn't know how much more she could handle.
"Can we just go back inside please?" he asked quietly. "Cuddle how we were? I promise I won't push you to stay. I just need another hour."
Unable to resist the sorry look on his face she nodded and followed him back to the bedroom.

They didn't say anything else when they got to Namjoon's bedroom - only communicating through looks and small touches. He guided her back into bed before climbing in himself, giving her leg a small tap to open up.
Her hands found their way back into his hair as soon as he settled between her warm thighs. The warmth and pressure of her hands taking the tension from his body.
He felt bad for making her cry. He didn't mean to. He just panicked.
She was the first thing to give him a sense of peace in days, and when she tried to take it away, he lashed out like a kid losing their favorite toy.
He rubbed circles on the top of her thighs. Head rested on the inside of her right leg. Her smell was intoxicating in this position. Like warm vanilla and brown sugar. Reminding him of a bakery filled with cupcakes.
The longer he inhaled her smell, the heavier his eyelids grew. The combination of her touch, warmth, smell, and soft material of her sweats coaxing him to sleep.
And just before he lost consciousness he heard her whisper, "I'll stay."
Then he was out.
⠂⠄⠄⠂⠁⠁⠂⠄⠄⠂⠁⠁⠂⠄⠄⠂ ⠂⠄⠄⠂☆
The smell of pancakes woke Eden from her sleep. Her eyebrows furrowing in confusion. Sunhi rarely cooked unless it was a special occasion and the last time she checked nobody's birthday was coming up.
A soft, steady snore vibrated against her. Her eyes snapped open.
She wasn't at home.
She was at Namjoon's.
Looking around, her mind finally registered the weight of the man asleep on her. Sometime during the night, she made it onto her back, and Namjoon sprawled over her, cheek resting right on her hip. His arm was wrapped possessively around her right leg like it was his lifeline.
He looked so peaceful.
A clattering sound came from down the hall. Followed by hushed voices.
She jerked upright - as much as she could with the heavy man attached to her hip.
"Namjoon!" she whispered urgently, shaking his shoulder. "Wake up! I think somebody broke into your house."
He didn't budge, only burrowing his face deeper into her.
"Namjoon!" she hissed, shaking harder.
It was no use. The man was out like a light.
Her heart dropped to her ass.
What if it was a sasaeng?
Did he have a girlfriend?
Oh god- what if his mom came to visit?
Finally, she slipped from under him. His death grip on her leg loosening after a few more tries. Tiptoeing to her bag she grabbed her taser disguised as lipstick.
Investigating was not in her blood. This was that movie shit she'd be screaming at the main character to run from.
But here she was.
When the end of the hallway came to view she shot a quick prayer to the sky. The moment she turned this corner she'd be face to face with whoever was in this kitchen.
Before she could take another breath, a body stepped right into her path.
She screamed.
"AHHH!!!"
The crackle of electricity filled the air as she pressed the taser trigger on instinct.
"WHAT THE-"
The body dropped to the floor in pain.
Footsteps thundered toward them from the kitchen.
"Hyung!"
"Oh my god!"
"Eden!"
She was surrounded, five pairs of eyes going back and forth between her and the man on the floor.
A familiar man.
Namjoon appeared behind her, groggy and disoriented, taking in the scene with wide eyes.
"So much for waking them up," someone muttered.
She was in a room with BTS.
BTS was here with her in this house.
She just tased a member of BTS.
What was her life.
⠂⠄⠄⠂⠁⠁⠂⠄⠄⠂⠁⠁⠂⠄⠄⠂ ⠂⠄⠄⠂☆
Namjoon stared at Jin rolling around the floor. The members surrounding him, half comforting, the others trying not to laugh. Namjoon dangerously close to laughing himself.
"What the hell are you guys doing here?" he asked.
Yoongi turned to him with a bored look, popping a piece of bacon into his mouth. "You didn't show up for practice this morning so we figured we'd come check on you," he shrugged.
"Saw you guys cuddled up in bed so we thought we'd make breakfast." Hoseok gestured proudly to the spread on the counter. "Well Jin hyung and Jk. Not us."
They helped Jin back to his feet.
Once he was back on his own two the room filled with protests as Eden went into a deep bow, "I am SO sorry for tasing you!"
Jin waved his hands wildly. "Yah stand up!" he said flustered. "It was my fault."
"I told you we should have woken them up sooner," Yoongi murmured, earning a pinch from Jimin.
Namjoon noticed Eden chewing on her lip, her nervous tell.
"Can you guys give us a minute?"
He waited for his brothers to disperse before looking down at Eden. "I told you about that lip," he murmured, gently hooking his thumb under her lip to free it.
"I for real did not mean to tase him," she said, eyes trailing off in the direction of the boys. "I tried waking you up. I thought it was a sasaeng."
He tilted his head in amusement, dimples on show. "You thought a sasaeng broke into my house and made breakfast?"
"Is that not something a delusional person would do?" she shot back.
She had a point. Namjoon has heard and experienced many sasaeng horror stories in his time of being an idol. "You're right."
Silence settled briefly before he spoke again, quieter, "I slept great. Your thighs are great pillows."
Her cheeks warmed instantly, "I-I think I'm going to go. My class starts soon and I work at Far Ben tonight."
He frowned. He wasn't ready for her to leave yet. Her presence still lingering on him from their night together.
"You can't stay for breakfast?"
She looked up from her phone with a sad smile, "I can't I'm sorry."
As much as he wanted to protest, Namjoon remembered the scene they caused in the hallway the night before and let it go. "Okay."
He walked her back to his room to gather her things, then to the front door, where she waved him and the members goodbye.
Back at the dining table, Namjoon joined his friends without a word. He knew he was being selfish. Eden had a life too. He couldn't expect her to stay just because he wanted her to.
"Namjoon-ah stop pouting and eat!" Jin scolded, dropping a pancake on his plate. "You'll see her again."
"Oh you'll definitely be seeing her again." Hoseok added. "The way you were all snuggled up and snoring?! I'm not letting her get away that easy."
"I haven't seen you sleep that hard in a while Namjoon hyung," Jimin said.
"Yeah Rapmon hyung! You missed practice and everything. Jimin was freaking out."
"Yah Jungkook! Why is he Hyung but I'm not you little brat!"
Yoongi cut in before the argument took off, "What matters is that he finally slept."
"Exactly," Jin said, head shaking in agreement. "How long did you sleep anyway? It's going on 10 am now."
Namjoon had to think. He left Hybe around 7:00 and after the drive home and shower he assumed she probably didn't get to his house until almost 9:00. After their little exchange it was probably like 11 when they finally settled to sleep. "Like nine hours give or take."
"Holy shit!"
They all had shocked looks on their faces, relief in their eyes.
Namjoon felt bad for burdening them with his stubbornness, especially when they were right all along.
"I'm sorry," he cleared his throat. "For making you guys worry. You were right I needed to rest... and I'm glad you pushed me to do it."
"Aww Hyung! We love you!" Jimin said reaching over to give the leader a hug.
Laughter spread around the table, warmth settling in Namjoon's chest.
Everyone looked at him happily.
Everyone except Taehyung.
Namjoon's smile fell, "Tae? What's wrong?"
The man pouted dramatically, arms crossed.
"Why don't you ever let me hold you like that when we sleep? Like that time in the RV?!"
The room erupted in laughter.
For the first time in a while, Namjoon felt truly rested.
⠂⠄⠄⠂⠁⠁⠂⠄⠄⠂⠁⠁⠂⠄⠄⠂ ⠂⠄⠄⠂☆
Eden slid down the door of her bedroom, hands covering her face as the events of the last twelve hours replayed in her head.
She slept over with Namjoon VOLUNTARILY.
Let him sleep between her legs - INCHES away from her Vag. Which he didn't hesitate to point out.
BTS saw.
AND she tased Jin.
She was never going to live this down.
She thanked god Sunhi wasn't home when she got there. The NDA would have been dust if she saw her friend when she walked through that front door.
Eden groaned into her hands.
After a full minute of wallowing, she pushed herself up and walked to her closet. She wanted to skip so bad. Deep down just wanting to rot in bed with the covers over her head, has lighting herself into believing last night was a fever dream.
But she had midterms soon and couldn't afford to miss another lecture. What's the point of cuddling for tuition if you don't go to school?
She showered. Pulled her curls into a cute half up, half down. Touched up her lipgloss. And forced herself out the front door.
The bus ride was a blur. Faces, buildings, and cars flying by as she stared out the window. Stopped at a red light, she looked up at a billboard advertisement.
Namjoon was front and center, the rest of his band mates surrounding him.
The universe had to be kidding...
She shook her head and shifted away. Thoughts of his husky voice whispering "...Your thighs are great pillows." Flooding her mind.
Maybe if she asked nicely the bus driver would run her over?
She sat in her usual spot at the back of her PR and Crisis Management class. The hushed whispers and giggles of her classmates as they mingled with each other filled the room.
Eden didn't have friends, only Sunhi and maybe Dawoon now? She had acquaintances of course, but her quiet nature never put her in the position to make many friends.
She was sure if it wasn't for her parents forcing her to do Kumon as a punishment, she never would have been friends with Sunhi.
Maybe Namjoon was right. It was ironic for her to go into PR.
The classroom fell silent when her professor walked in. Side conversations tossed to the side to give the woman their full attention. She didn't verbally demand it, but everything about her appearance did.
Shoulders squared, bob cut perfectly, and a resting bitch face. The sound of her heels clacking on the floor commanding the room like a drill sergeant. She just gave off the vibe she shouldn't be fucked with.
"Good Morning. We'll be going over the details of your final project today."
Eden's heart sank. Not from fear, but exhaustion.
Her schedule was going to be tight.
Taking notes, she listened as her professor went over the rubric and instructions. The vibration of her phone against the table pulling her attention away.
A notification from her bank. Most likely another bill taken out of her account.
She flipped her phone face down and forced herself through the rest of class, absorbing maybe one or two more topics before escaping as soon as the clock hit the hour.
Eden met Sunhi for lunch, keeping up with her end of their daily routine.
"Oh how I've missed your face!" Sunhi yelled, springing from her seat when Eden arrived at their table.
"Hey Sun," she said, bracing herself for the impact of her friend's tight squeeze.
Sunhi pulled back from the hug, faced turned up. "Oh. So you hate me and want me to die?"
Eden blinked. "Girl what?! When did I say that?"
"You didn't have to. Your actions say it all."
"Oh stop it. You are so dramatic."
"Oh so now you're calling me names?!" She gasped, clutching her nonexistent pearls. "Have one sleepover with a man and you don't know how to act."
The image of Namjoon asleep between her legs flashed in her memory. The back of her neck growing hot.
"Alright, shut up," she said, swatting her arm.
"Then hug me like you mean it!"
They went back and forth for a good thirty seconds until Eden finally caved and gave Sunhi a real proper hug.
Sunhi hummed, satisfied. "That's better. Now sit down and eat I bought lunch."
Eden slid into her seat, pulling her phone out as Sunhi pushed a tray of food toward her.
"Thanks. How much do I owe you?" she asked, bank app already loading.
"What part of I bought lunch do you not understand? You don't have to pay me back. Just do my laundry or something."
Eden shivered, the thought of going anywhere near Sun's heap of laundry giving her the heebie jeebies.
Going to close the app, her breath caught in her throat at a new deposit in her account.
+2,000,000 KRW from: rpwprpwp
She blinked. Refreshed the page. Blinked again.
Her eyes weren't playing tricks on her. It was very much real.
She opened cuddle buddies immediately.

She got an immediate reply.
rpwprpwp: You saved me

rpwprpwp: And don't try to send it back or I'll double it.
She sat back in disbelief.
"Why do you look like you just saw a ghost? What's wrong with you?" Sunhi questioned from across the table.

Namjoon's jaw clenched as he read the message from Yoongi for the fifth time - just to make sure he was reading it correctly.
Yoongi Hyung: Just because Jimin said he wouldn't book you another session doesn't mean I can't
Yoongi Hyung: Get some rest Namjoon
Was anyone going to let him make his own decisions these days?
It was silent when he made his way back into the living room. His unexpected guest perched on the couch chewing her bottom lip, eyes darting everywhere but him. She looked like she wanted to jump out of the window.
Shocked would be an understatement to how Namjoon felt when he opened the door and was met with ginger hair and big eyes. He hadn't expected to see her standing there - let alone at that hour. Sparing a glance at the watch on his wrist he shook his head. It was almost midnight and this girl was doing house calls. Did she not have any sense of self preservation?
"You know...you should really change the password to your account," she said, her voice barely rising above the thick silence.
He pinched the bridge of his nose annoyed at the way she stated the obvious - even though he hadn't thought about that until now. He moved to the couch across from her over it already. All he wanted to do was be alone in his own house tonight. Now he had to sit through another two hours of her complaining. He would have just sent her home, but he'd rather deal with her whining than a lecture from Yoongi.
"Do you not have set work hours for yourself?" He suddenly asked, his intense stare causing her to squirm in her seat.
"Uhh... yeah? What does that have to do with anything?"
"Maybe the fact that you're here to do a session at midnight," he said, eyebrows raised like she was the one acting unreasonable.
He got a raised brow in return. "Ever heard of the nightshift?"
He poked the inside of his cheek with his tongue. What a brat.
"Ever heard of kidnapping?"
She crossed her arms, "Touché."
They fell back into silence. The uncomfortable tension of the situation filling the room. It didn't phase Namjoon at all. He'd gladly sit there until the session timer ran out. But of course the universe wouldn't dare give into his wishes.
"So...I think maybe we should talk about your situation and what you expect to gain from this session," Eden said, her voice oddly professional.
He groaned. Namjoon didn't want anything but for her to leave him alone, but that wouldn't be nice or appropriate to say. "We talked about this last time. I just want to fucking sleep."
The girl moved to sit criss cross applesauce, unfazed by his profanity. He now had her full attention. "Okay got it. You slept last time I was here. What happened?"
He guessed they were really doing this. He adjusted himself in his seat. He felt like he was back in his doctor's office.
"I woke up a few hours after you left around like 2. I took my sleeping medicine, but I still couldn't go back to sleep." He recalled, leaving out the part where he watched her leave on the doorbell camera and how he sat around wondering what she did while he slept.
"And is that how it normally is for you," she asked with a tilt of her head. He watched as the soft curls on her head fell over her eyes.
"I only ever sleep about 3 hours and that's in intervals - never consecutive."
She didn't say anything - just sat there studying him for a moment. Like he was a riddle she was trying to solve. Then, she was moving. He watched her closely as she moved to the couch he was sitting on. "Can I touch you?"
Namjoon would be lying if he said the sentence that fell from her lips didn't do something to him. His dick twitching slightly. God he needed to get a grip and fast. Confused, but intrigued, he allowed her to breach his personal bubble. "Yeah."
She maneuvered so they were sitting exactly like they were last time. Hand in hand. Thighs touching. "Last time we sat like this how did you feel?"
He let out a scoff. "Like I was in elementary school or something. Holding hands for the first time."
She stared at their hands for a moment taking in his words, "Makes sense. This is one of the least intimate things when it comes to physical intimacy. Someone like you needs more than intertwined hands."
Someone like him? What was that supposed to mean?
"You're a high profile guy remember?" she said, her big brown eyes staring up at him. "High profile just screams an unbearable amount of stress."
Namjoon hadn't realized he said his thoughts out loud. He also recognized that she hinted at still not knowing his profession. Good. He didn't want her to know - at least for tonight.
⠂⠄⠄⠂⠁⠁⠂⠄⠄⠂⠁⠁⠂⠄⠄⠂ ⠂⠄⠄⠂☆
Eden let go of his hand, reaching into her bag to pull out a folder of printed positions. She figured it would be easier on her and her clients if she printed out examples, rather than describe them or pull out her phone and search for them.
She handed it over to Namjoon, "So I only offer these as add ons to repeat clients," she explained. "But since you're paying way more than needed you can pick any of those. I think it might help you if you get a little more contact. You don't have to do any of the add on ones yet though, I have regular positions in there as well."
He looked it over for a while before he spoke up, "So if I asked to lay my head on your ass you'd let me do it?"
Eden snatched the folder back from him, panic written all over her face. She thought she told Sunhi to take that one off!
The couch shook as the man next to her let out a laugh, his dimples showing to their fullest extent. She didn't know he was capable of anything but frowning.
"I'm just fucking with you, you should have saw your face! So funny! Oh god I wish you could have seen!"
She glared at him before throwing the folder back onto his lap, "Time is ticking. Pick a damn position."
He set the folder on the table, "We can spoon I guess."
She blinked. She hadn't expected him to answer so quickly. "Okay...do you want to be the little spoon or big?"
"I'll be little spoon."
Eden was a little disappointed he didn't choose to be the big spoon. After cuddling and squeezing Dawoon for a few hours she wanted in on the fun too. Especially with the way she felt his whole body relax. If a man as built as Namjoon gave her those squeezes she was sure she'd turn into jelly. It didn't help that he was wearing a white muscle shirt and gray sweats tonight either. His arms looked as big as her head. She wondered how they'd feel around her head.
She wanted to slap herself in the face. This was her client she was thinking about! She couldn't think of him like that. And on top of that he's a dickhead!
Namjoon's deep voice cut through her thoughts, "Wow. First I'm a virgin with a fetish and now I'm a dickhead?"
Her hands slapped over her mouth. Oh god.
"That wasn't even me who called you a virgin it was my friend!"
His face didn't hold the same ease as it did earlier when he was laughing. The creases in his forehead were back and his dimples weren't as noticeable anymore. Great, she just had to ruin the vibe.
"Let's just get this over with."
They moved to the wider side of his couch so they'd have more room for the both of them. He laid down first back turned to her in silence. She wasn't sure if he was ready for her or not.
Looking over his shoulder he shot her a glare, "Are you just going to stand there?"
"Right."
She slipped onto the couch behind him a pillow tucked between them to create a barrier. Even though she didn't have anything down there that could poke him - she still wanted to remain professional and sure that he was protected. She laid an arm over his torso and rested her forehead between his shoulder blades. He was so tall she couldn't rest her head anywhere near his face in that position. Which was good because she was sure he didn't want her that close anyway. When he didn't object she let out a breath.
The smell of sandalwood and amber immediately invaded her nose as she held him close. His body was rigid and tense and she couldn't help but feel as if it was all her fault for his uncomfortableness. If only she kept her mouth shut.
"I'm sorry," she said lowly.
For a second she thought he wasn't going to respond. Too mad to say anything to her. But a few short beats later, "It's whatever." Filled the space between them. Then silence.
⠂⠄⠄⠂⠁⠁⠂⠄⠄⠂⠁⠁⠂⠄⠄⠂ ⠂⠄⠄⠂☆
The constant blare of a phone ringing woke Namjoon from his sleep. Who the fuck was calling this late? He rolled over to grab his phone from the bed side table but his hand met nothing but air. He sat up in confusion rubbing the sleep from his eyes before he realized he wasn't in his room. He was still in the living room on the couch. Dropping his hand he almost jumped out of his skin when he touched a head full of hair.
"What the fuck?"
Eden was still there. Mouth open, laid on her back, dead to the world. At some point during the night she fell off the couch and just stayed there. For someone sleeping in a strangers house she sure was comfortable. He pulled his gaze away from her when the phone started ringing again.
Incoming Call
SUN! ♡
It was 5am. Way past the time of their cuddle session. This Sun person definitely thought she got kidnapped.
He bent over to shake the girl awake. He was annoyed. How did she fall asleep? Her job was to cuddle not sleep. If she did this with anyone else anything could have happened.
"Hey! Hey! Wake up." She woke with a jolt. Eyes growing wide as she took in Namjoon's presence.
"Somebody named Sun is blowing up your phone."
"Fuck! I didn't hear my alarm oh my god she's going to kill me! Oh god!" She scrambled to grab her things. "Shit! Namjoon. I am so so sorry Namjoon I didn't mean to overstay! I know I'm not supposed to fall asleep. Fuck! You don't have to pay me-"
She was panicking. Namjoon could tell by the way her voice shook. She was starting to hyperventilate. Without thinking he grabbed her shoulder and turned her to face him. She needed to breathe.
"Calm down. You're working yourself up Eden. Just breathe."
He started doing breathing exercises for her to copy. Her shaky hands gripping his shirt like she'd fall off the face of the earth if she let go. Matching his breaths, she was soon able to breathe normally again.
"Good job baby you did so well," he spoke softly. "Now answer the phone."
They both stiffened. Namjoon hadn't meant to call her that. It was a habit of his he thought he got rid of a long time ago.
"Didn't mean to say that," he said quickly pulling away from her like her touch was poisonous. "You should get that. They've been calling non stop."
She stood there for a minute unblinking before she was moving again, "H-hello?"
As soon as she answered the phone Namjoon could hear a frantic woman screaming on the other end. It was so loud, Eden had to pull the phone away from her ear.
"I know. Im sorry Sun! I lost track of time then we fell asleep I didn't hear my alarm. I should have communicated better."
Namjoon noticed the tears in her eyes first, then the pout on her lips as she apologized profusely to the person on the other end of the phone. Did they have to yell that much?
He walked away before he did something reckless. That was between them.
Going to his intercom he pressed the button for the front desk.
"Good Morning Mr. Kim."
"Can you get the car out front? Eden is ready to go home."
"Of course sir," the voice answered before the line went dead.
When Namjoon made it back to the living room Eden was wiping her tears with the sleeve of her sweatshirt. She wasn't full on sobbing, but he could see her chest moving up and down silently.
"Stop crying before you go downstairs."
She raised her head to look at him. Her glasses sat on top of her head to give her easy access to her eyes. He stepped closer and pulled them back onto her face.
"I-" she sucked in a breath like she was going to cry again. "I will I'm sorry. I don't want to make you look bad."
"I'm not worried about me," Namjoon murmured as he stepped away. "The car is ready for you out front when you're ready."
And with that he walked away.
⠂⠄⠄⠂⠁⠁⠂⠄⠄⠂⠁⠁⠂⠄⠄⠂ ⠂⠄⠄⠂☆
Eden trudged into the apartment, her steps heavy with dread. Sunhi was so mad and worried about her. She felt terrible. The second she rounded the corner and they locked eyes, Sunhi's face shattered. They both fell to the floor and broke down in tears. Her friend really thought something horrible happened to her.
"Yah! You idiot!" Sunhi cried, voice cracking.
The girl sobbed harder as she moved into her friend's open arms, "I'm so sorry Sun! I'm so stupid! I fell asleep and then I-I couldn't hear my alarm- It's no excuse I know, but I would NEVER do that on purpose!"
Sunhi held her tighter, shaking. "I thought you got turned into Chum Bucket stew! Why would you accept two sessions in a day," her friend said, swatting at her arm. "You silly, silly girl!"
Eden let out a watery laugh as she wiped Sunhi's cheeks. "I couldn't pass up on all of that money. I hate myself for falling asleep, trust me."
Sunhi took off Eden's fogged up glasses and wiped her tears in return. "What a pabo." Even though the word is normally used as an insult, Eden could feel the love and affection Sun put behind it. Her eyes were soft with relief.
They stayed wrapped in each other's arms for a while longer. The stress and anger leaving their bodies the longer they rocked back and forth on the floor.
Eventually Sunhi pulled away, a suggestive look on her face. "...Did you at least feel his dick against your ass this time?"
"SUN!"
"What!" She threw her hands up innocently. "I'm asking the real questions here!"
All Eden could do was shake her head and laugh. "What a freakazoid."
⠂⠄⠄⠂⠁⠁⠂⠄⠄⠂⠁⠁⠂⠄⠄⠂ ⠂⠄⠄⠂☆
Later that morning Eden sat in her journalism class locked in. It was hard attending school knowing it could all be taken away from her soon. She caught herself trying to absorb as much information as she could, greedily stashing it away like a squirrel packing away its nuts for the winter. It had been about three weeks since she got the news, and with the money she's made from the first session with Namjoon, Dawoon's session, and the session last night she had about 2 million won. If she added the money she had saved up she'd have 3 million, but she couldn't take from that money. It was strictly for rent and her necessities. Anything she made from Cuddle Buddies would go towards her schooling. Really, all she needed was a few more sessions with Namjoon and she'd meet her goal and then some.
She found herself thinking about Namjoon. She couldn't believe she fell asleep next to him. God she couldn't believe she almost had a panic attack in front of him. Her face started to heat up, remembering the way he was soft and gentle with her. The way he called her baby and told her how good she did. Ugh! She had to get a grip on reality. He probably did that with an ex of his and it slipped by accident. He said it himself, it was an accident. She brought her focus back to the front of class, determined not to think about Namjoon for the rest of the day.
She failed. Miserably. It was all she could think about. The way he praised her. The way he gripped her shoulders to keep her grounded. The way she felt pressed up against his body. Don't even get her started on his smell. The sandalwood and amber smell invaded her senses all day even though he wasn't around. At home, at school, even as she worked her shift at Far Ben. It was there.
The rush from lunch calmed down just enough for them to get a second to breathe, she was ready to take her fifteen when an online order came in. An americano was easy, so she let the others go first. Smiling at her creation, she set it in the online order section and busied herself with cleaning. She thought her delusions were sneaking back up on her when she smelled Namjoon. Not a faint smell but strong. Like he was right next to her. Turning around she was surprised to see him at the counter. A bucket hat pulled over his head and a face mask pulled down just enough for her to be able to tell it was him.
"You scared the crap out of me!" she said placing her hand over her beating heart.
He just looked at her with a neutral expression. Not angry. Not happy to see her. Just straight.
"My bad."
Weird.
"What can I get started for you?"
"I had an online order."
He was being so short with her. The complete opposite of how he was yesterday. She honestly wished he was annoyed with her or something - just to see some type of emotion from him.
Eden felt like she wanted to cry. She didn't know why. They were not close at all, and she barely even knew the man to let him affect her like this. She kept her head down as she passed him the drink, expecting him to walk away immediately.
"You left your folder on my coffee table."
She really didn't want to think about cuddling right now.
"You can throw it away if you want. I can always print more."
"Just pick it up at our next session."
Before she could process what he said he walked away leaving her speechless.
"Was that just my brother? I told that idiot to stop paying for his drinks!" Kyung Min whined as she emerged from her office just in time to see him walk past the window.
Eden almost passed out right then and there, "Your brother?! Like the idol everybody talks about when they come in?!"
Kyung Min looked at her like she had two heads, "Yeah my brother is RM of BTS. You didn't recognize Namjoon?"
She was for sure going to pass out. Namjoon was her boss's brother? Her high profile client was fucking RM of BTS. She'd been fantasizing about her boss's brother all day. She had to sit down.
"C-can I take my break now?"
Kyung Min gave her a knowing smile. Everyone always reacted like that when they met Namjoon for the first time. "Go ahead. I've got the front."
She was going to be sick.

Yoongi had been on Namjoon's case all day for him to book another session. When he found out the younger had slept even longer with no interruptions he wouldn't let him deny the fact those sessions were working. If it was up to Yoongi he would have just booked another one himself, but the brat changed the password.
"Hyung. The next time I feel like I need her services I will book one I promise," Namjoon said, knowing a compromise was the only way for Yoongi to drop the topic.
"Okay...but don't wait until you're about to pass out from exhaustion Joon," the elder said, a knot forming in his stomach. The image of Namjoon unconscious and bleeding flooding his memories. "I'm being serious."
The first few months Namjoon was suffering from insomnia he refused to go see a specialist. Stating he was okay and that it was just a little phase he was going through. He didn't take it serious until he pushed himself too hard in practice one day and passed out. He hit his head so hard he started bleeding and had to get stitches. It was traumatizing for the other members to see him like that. It's why they were so adamant on getting him help.
Namjoon looked at the coffee he picked up for Yoongi earlier. He never realized how small the world was until he saw Eden behind the counter of his sister's cafe. Wild ginger fro pulled into a cute bun on her head, fogged up glasses, and the cafe Far Ben apron tied just right. Who would have thought she was a professional cuddler on the side - let alone one that he utilized? He didn't know how he would explain it to his sister if she caught wind. It wasn't like they were having sex or anything, but there were certain lines you didn't cross. For some reason though, Namjoon didn't seem to care. At the end of the day it was all for his health.
He felt more energized than he had in weeks. It wasn't much, but the burning sensation behind his eyes from forcing them open, and the small pounding in his head was gone. It was a start, and something he couldn't ignore. That session did help him.
He couldn't help the feeling of this all being so stupid to him. There was no way all he needed was someone next to him at night for him to get a good night of sleep. It had to be something else. Maybe the couch he paid thousands of dollars for was finally making itself useful. He hadn't really lounged on it since he'd gotten it so that had to be the case. Or maybe it was the change of atmosphere. He only associated his room with sleeping so maybe being in the living room allowed him to relax enough to let go and drift off.
Namjoon was spiraling. He knew the real reason all of these excuses were running through his head. He was embarrassed by his slip up. Baby hadn't been in his vocabulary in so long, he didn't know why it slipped out when he tried to comfort the girl. He didn't have the answers to a lot of the choices he made yesterday. The slip up. The unconcious praise. The way his first reaction was to snatch the phone out of her hand when the woman yelling on the other end made her cry. He chalked it up to his protective nature. Being the leader of a group who was constantly being watched under a microscope made him that way. So of course when someone in his presence was hurting he would feel the need to protect them. Yes - that was it.
He contemplated on booking another session with her. He had just saw her last night and didn't want it to seem like he liked her or that he was clingy or anything. He didn't want to see her. He just wanted to see if he could sleep again. He pulled up the app and stared at it. He didn't even know where to begin. He never did this before. He didn't want to do this. His finger pressed on the booking icon. Hundreds of profiles filled his screen but he ignored them all except for the one sitting in its own section.
REBOOK WITH:
gardenofeden
The link took him to a chat and sent over an automatic message asking if she was available to book. His heart fell from his chest. There was no turning back now. He threw his phone on the couch - his body soon following. He was still in his studio, making use of the small pick me up he got last night. Was it selfish of him to ask? He did see her working at Far Ben earlier, she had to be tired. His phone buzzed. It was her.
gardenofeden: What day did you want your next session?
rpwprpwp: Tonight? 10pm?
He was nervous about her response. Would that be too late? He did scold her yesterday for doing house calls so late at night. 10 minutes passed and still no response. He double texted.
rpwprpwp: You can say no
The time between texts dragged and all Namjoon could do was sit there in agony until he finally got a response.
gardenofeden: Just finished with a shower I'll be there in an hour

This time when Eden stood outside the penthouse door she was nervous for completely different reasons. Her nerves weren't about the fact she had to cuddle with a stranger - more about the fact that this stranger was her boss's brother and the leader of Korea's number one boy group. He wasn't just Namjoon anymore. He was THE Kim Namjoon. And she was about to curl up next to him for the next couple of hours. If anyone caught a whiff of her being there, she was sure she'd be slapped on every tabloid by morning.
The click of the door unlocking knocked her out of her thoughts. Namjoon stood framed in the doorway wearing a gray muscle shirt and black sweats, his big tanned arms fully on display. Honestly, at that point he might as well had been shirtless. She quickly averted her eyes and greeted him with a small smile. He stepped aside to let her in. "Thanks for coming."
She flinched at the sound of his voice - no idea how she was going to get through the session. All she could think about was his idol status, and how embarrassed she was for making a fool out of herself yesterday. He probably thought she was so unprofessional. She found her normal spot on his couch, curling up behind her knees like she could hide there forever.
She could barely get comfortable before Namjoon stood in front of her with a hand outstretched. "Come on," he murmured pulling her to her feet, guiding her to the bigger side of the couch. Before she could overthink, he added quietly "I'll be big spoon." He laid on the couch first before pulling her down to lie next to him, settling behind her like it was second nature.
Her body relaxed against him immediately. His smell, the warmth of his body, and the feeling of his heavy arm around her waist shut off the noise in her head. She was glad he took charge when he did. She was sure she would have short circuited if she had to ask how he wanted to be cuddled today. They stayed like that for a quiet stretch before he spoke, "I didn't know you worked at Far Ben."
Of course he didn't know. She never mentioned it. She couldn't help but to worry about every interpretation of their situation. Did he think she was hiding it from him? Did he think she was a weird fan pretending to not know him? If she was in his position and the person she hired just so happened to work for her sister, and never mentioned the fact she was famous when her face was plastered everywhere she'd be suspicious too. "I didn't know your connection to the cafe."
"Not accusing you." His voice calm. "Just surprised that's all."
She focused on the steady rise of his chest against her back, "Your sister is nice. The complete opposite of you."
He let out a snort, "Cause I'm a dickhead right?"
She rolled to face him, eyes wide. He was never going to let that go was he? "I didn't mean it like that. I just meant you seem so precise. So clean cut about the things in your life. Kyung Min...she's so carefree. You're on complete opposite ends of the spectrum."
He stared at her, processing. "Being the oldest and leader of a group will do that to a person," he said finally.
His hands settled on her waist, the slight pressure and heat from them causing her mind to go blank. Before she could realize what was happening, he had her turned back around to face away from him.
"Did that Sun person chew you out when you got home?" he asked.
Her cheeks warmed instantly - not sure if it was from his actions or the fact he heard Sunhi screaming over the phone yesterday. She couldn't tell. "Once she saw I was really okay she calmed down. It was just scary for her since she expected me home and I never showed."
"Is she your girlfriend?"
Eden let out a full belly laugh. Sun?! Her girlfriend? Where did he come up with that conclusion? "No absolutely not. You've got jokes," she choked out, wiping a tear from her eye. "She's my best friend. We've been attached at the hip since middle school."
"Hm."
The vibration of his chest reminded Eden just how close they really were. She wanted to ask him questions too, but she didn't want to cross the line or make him uncomfortable. Knowing her, she would ask the wrong thing and ruin the atmosphere. Silence was her best option.
"My security told me they have to confiscate your taser every time you come. You ever use it?"
She couldn't help but laugh again. "What are these questions?"
A breathy laugh hit the back of her neck, the jolt of his body moving them. "You live a dangerous life. The people want to know."
"Boy, my life is far from dangerous. I just go to school, work at Far Ben, and occasionally cuddle with strangers at their homes," she said. "No biggy."
That seemed to have caught his attention. He rose up on his elbow towering over her with a raised brow. "You're in school? What for?"
"Journalism and Public Relations."
He squinted his eyes like he was studying her. "PR? You don't really seem like the type."
"Hey! I would make a great PR person."
"Maybe if it didn't involve talking," he said plopping back on the couch.
She turned to him once again. His eyes were closed now, a smirk she wished she could smack off, plastered on his face.
"PR is way more than public speaking you know? It's about cleaning up messes, strategizing, and making sure people like YOU-" she poked his chest. "Look good in the press." She flipped back around with a huff. Not even worried about his reaction to her actions. "I'm sure with your attitude you've needed extensive PR training."
She could feel him shake his head behind her. "Such a brat," he mumbled.
"What was said?!"
"Nothing."
"That's what I thought."
⠂⠄⠄⠂⠁⠁⠂⠄⠄⠂⠁⠁⠂⠄⠄⠂ ⠂⠄⠄⠂☆
Namjoon had to admit, he didn't expect Eden to have such a bratty side. The sassy attitude she gave him only waking something dormant inside him. Almost like he needed to tame her before she crossed a line she couldn't come back from. Something was wrong with him. Either it's been too long since he jerked off or he was just sick in the head. Either way, he had to get a lid on his feelings fast. She was here to help with his insomnia, nothing more. And he barely wanted her to do that.
In her small little temper tantrum Eden pushed Namjoon's arm from around her waist, the whole purpose of spooning lost. He let her settle before he laid his arm across her again, but was met with her pushing it off.
So it was going to be like that?
He did it again - more firm this time, but ended up with the same result.
His patience was growing thin. It was just a joke, it's not like he meant any harm. Done with her childish ways he grabbed her chin to make her look at him, "You're getting paid to cuddle Eden - Or did you forget that's what you're here for?" he said with a cocked brow. "I was just joking. Now stop."
He let her face go and pulled her back into his embrace with a huff. "Now let's try again." He wasn't about to let her keep messing with his treatment.
A few moments passed before he felt her relax into his hold again. Her stubbornness losing the battle against his. He let her stew for a second before he spoke again. "What got you onto that path. And why Korea out of all places."
She didn't answer him right away. He figured she was still a little salty about his earlier comments.
A minute or two passed before she finally let out a sigh and answered, "Olivia Pope. And Korea just made sense. Sunhi used to live here, her family taught me the language and customs, SNU is a great university, and it's far away from my family."
He wanted to refrain from opening a can of worms, so he opted for the safest response, "Who the hell is Olivia Pope?"
That was the wrong choice.
For the rest of their session Eden went on a tangent about Olivia Pope and how she aspired to be just like her minus the trauma and political drama. He learned all the basics about the American show and Shonda Rhimes. Namjoon would be lying if he said the show didn't sound a little interesting to him. Eden was in the middle of explaining something about a B613 when the alarm on her phone went off. Their session was over. He felt a sense of disappointment creep over him. They had talked so much Namjoon never even attempted to fall asleep. Eden must have realized it too because her lip became a chew toy the second she started to rise.
"Don't worry about it. I was the main one asking questions," he said, his eyes focused on her mouth. "Stop chewing your lip, you're gonna break skin."
She released it immediately, the nervous tic replaced with her fingers playing with each other. He didn't say anything, figuring that was better than the last. He walked her to the door making sure she had everything before she went. "You got your folder from the coffee table right?"
"Yep," she said, raising her tote bag for him to see.
He looked down at the time on his watch - it was a little past midnight. "I called for the car, so it should be ready when you get downstairs."
Namjoon watched as she made no effort to move, she just stood there rocking back and forth like she had something to say.
"What is it?"
"Do you think you'll be able to sleep tonight?"
He didn't give her an answer, just a simple "Goodnight Eden." Before closing the door.

Eden was always told she could never control the look on her face in situations and that statement couldn't have been more true as she sat next to her client with a scowl on her face.
When she asked the man what cuddling position he preferred she didn't expect for him to say "Neither." with the straightest face she'd ever seen. That's how they got into the position of sitting with their hands intertwined, him leaned back against the couch with his eyes closed, and her giving him the strongest side eye in the world.
It's not like she wasn't happy he didn't want to cuddle, she thanked God for that, but she took a 45 minute bus ride, signed an NDA, and was searched head to toe for this....what a waste of her time.
"Can you stop squeezing my hand so hard? Any harder and you'll cut my circulation off." Namjoon huffed, the base in his voice sending shivers down Eden's spine.
She rolled her eyes, the glare on her face intensifing. "No offense, but you're so far away I have to squeeze your hand to keep my hand from slipping."
Finally opening his eyes he nonchalantly let his gaze fall over her. "Well this is how close we're getting so you can loosen up a little."
Speechless, Eden grabbed her phone to see how long they had left in their session. It had only been twenty minutes...great.
Leaning back with a huff of annoyance Eden took in the man next to her. He wore a black Essentials hoodie with the hood covering his head, a pair of black loose sweatpants, and from the way he laid back on the couch, his hoodie lifted just enough to see the band of his Calvin's peaking from his sweats. He smelled like sandalwood and amber, most likely from the shower products he used earlier. His skin looked smooth, and if you looked close enough on his face you could still see the indent of his dimples even if his attitude was shitty at the moment.
His house was a reflection of him as well. Neat and organized, with wooden accents in the furniture and decor. The couch was a nice brown color and extremely comfortable for it to be made of leather. There were plants everywhere filling up the space - which Eden thought was great since it gave the huge floor to ceiling windows something to work for.
Grunting in discomfort Eden decided to take matters upon herself. If he wanted to just hold hands they could do that for sure, but she wasn't about to sit through feeling like her shoulder was going to pop from its socket any minute. She slid across the couch until the strain on her shoulder was relieved.
Unfortunately for Namjoon that meant their legs were now touching.
"You're in my bubble."
Her side eye was back again. "How are you going to accept a cuddle buddy session and have a bubble?"
"It only has to make sense to me. Now shhhh I'm trying to sleep." He shushed her giving her a brief look before scooting away and returning right back to his position.
They still had an hour and a half left of their session. She wasn't sure how much more she could take of this.
"Listen. I know this is new to you, same as me. And I know that letting a stranger in your personal space is weird, but if you think intimacy is going to help you sleep, touching fingertips is not going to help at all."
She got no response from the man.
"Can I at least watch tv?"
Silence.
"Read a book? I mean you have a whole library over there!"
Before she could continue her rant she felt the grip on her hand tighten and a hand wrap around her leg. Next thing she knew, she being dragged and placed elbow to elbow and knee to knee with Namjoon, their hands placed in the middle where their legs met. She stared at him with wide eyes. Her gaze met with his annoyed one.
"There, now you can stop complaining," he said before getting comfortable again. "Can you please be shut up so I can try to sleep?"
Embarrassment rushed up her neck. She wasn't begging to be close to him, and even if she was, he didn't have to manhandle her to get her closer. This guy was something else.
Remembering she had her kindle in her tote bag she grabbed that and started a new novel to pass the time. An hour down, one more hour to go.
⠂⠄⠄⠂⠁⠁⠂⠄⠄⠂⠁⠁⠂⠄⠄⠂ ⠂⠄⠄⠂☆
When the timer went off Eden couldn't have been happier. She leaned over to the table and snatched her phone up with the quickness. She expected Namjoon to pull his hand out of hers as soon as the phone started buzzing, but was surprised to see he was actually sleeping. She wasn't sure if she should wake him before leaving, but knowing his history she decided against it.
"It would all just be for nothing," she murmured before gathering her things, writing a quick 'Thanks!' on a sticky note she had, and slipping out of the front door.
On the elevator ride down she checked the bus schedule and saw the next one would come in 20 minutes. She was prepared to wait at the 7/11 she saw around the corner before a curt voice stopped her from leaving the building. "Miss Eden."
Turning around she saw the security guy that escorted her to the penthouse earlier. She thought his name was Mr. Song, but she was so nervous earlier she wasn't too confident.
"We didn't call the car to the front yet. Are you ready to go?"
She was confused. Go where exactly? It must have been evident on her face because the man continued.
"We have a car set up to take you home since it's so late. Namjoon didn't tell you before you left?"
"Hmm I never knew about that. He was sleeping when I left so I didn't want to wake him. He probably forgot about it."
It was his turn to look surprised now. She wasn't sure if it was because Namjoon forgot to tell her, or the fact that she announced the man upstairs was asleep. She chalked it up to the latter of the two. If he was so surprised by that, Namjoon's sleeping habits must be really bad.
A few minutes later a sleek black car pulled up in front of the building accompanied by a new doorman ready to open both doors for her. She couldn't help but look up to the sky and thank God for rich people. This car ride would shave 20 minutes off her travel time.
When Eden arrived home she was surprised to see Sunhi still awake in the living room. From the looks of it, she was waiting on Eden's arrival.
Scurrying off the couch, her best friend nuzzled into her arm all excited ready to hear how the session went. "Girl! Tell me everything! Was he cute? Was the house clean? Could you feel his junk pressed against that big voluptuous ass? Was it big?!"
Mushing Sunhi's face to create distance, Eden laughed as she made her way to the kitchen for a water. "You're so gross."
Sunhi jumped around with a pouted lip, resembling a little kid whose mom wouldn't let them pick out candy in the store. Eden was tempted to spill everything right then and there, but then she remembered the NDA she signed. She still didn't even know who Namjoon truly was, let alone how high profile he was. Could she even say his name? She would have to check her copy of the NDA later. For now she settled on the basics.
"It was okay. I basically got paid to sit there and hold hands. He didn't want me anywhere in his personal bubble."
Sunhi looked confused. "The fuck? He paid you 800 thousand won to hold hands? Bitch was he some weirdo virgin or something?"
"Sun! You can't talk about people like that! I keep telling you one of these days karma is going to get your ass." She said rounding the counter to take a seat on the bar stool.
"I'm not going to lie I was ready to go the whole time. He just made me sit next to him and hold his hand for two hours while he fell asleep on the couch. No tv or anything. Thank God I had my kindle or I would have been bored as fuck."
Sunhi clapped her hands together like she finally got the answers to a problem she'd been studying for hours. "I got it! He's definitely one of those virgin tech guys who watch hentai for fun."
It was like the girl didn't listen to anything Eden said.
"Once again you have to stop talking about my client like that." She strained, holding the bridge of her nose. "He definitely did not give tech bro."
"How else could he just afford to drop 800 thousand won on holding hands then? No idol is doing that shit, and surely he's too young to be a politician, so the next best option is tech nerd with access to too much money." Her friend explained, letting her body drop over the back of the couch. Her bunny slippers now waving in the air.
"I don't know what he does. I never asked. He didn't even want to do the session for real. His friends booked it for him."
"Wow even worse. I'm just glad you made it home safe and he didn't turn you into whatever the fuck Plankton serves at the chum bucket."
Eden shook her head at her friend. The girl could never be serious.
"And on that note I'm going to bed."
⠂⠄⠄⠂⠁⠁⠂⠄⠄⠂⠁⠁⠂⠄⠄⠂ ⠂⠄⠄⠂☆
When Namjoon came to, his body stiffened. He was still on the couch in his living room, but the presence that occupied the space next to him had disappeared. He lifted his head to peer around the room, the soft leather peeling from his face. Everything looked normal, still in the right places. He couldn't believe he fell asleep next to a random girl off the internet. Turning to look out the window he was almost disappointed to see it was still dark outside. How long had he been out anyway?
Walking to the kitchen for a glass of water he looked at the time on the microwave. 2:22am. He had slept for a good four and a half hours without interruption. That's new. Normally Namjoon could only sleep in short durations at a time, an hour here, 30 minutes there. Never four hours consecutively. Maybe his body wasn't entirely desensitized to his sleeping pills yet.
Finally making it to his bed for the night, Namjoon set his glass of water on his nightstand noticing his pill tracker. He forgot, he didn't take his pills tonight. He had never made it back into his room after his shower. Popping the two pills in his mouth and washing them down with water. He settled into his sheets and stared at the ceiling.
Maybe he was just really exhausted today. With dance practice, a quick studio session, and the emotional distress Jimin caused him earlier, it was a good chance that was all his body could handle for the day. He definitely wasn't going to give credit to that session. It was like being in first grade all over again, holding hands with someone for the first time. Jimin was going to be pissed if he found out he paid 800 thousand won and all Namjoon did was sit side by side with the girl and hold her pinky.
In his defense, he did get closer to her eventually. A little thigh on thigh was better than hearing her complaints. To be honest, if Namjoon wasn't so sensitive to sound at night he would have happily turned the tv on so she could hush. Now that he thought about it, what did she do while he was sleeping? Did she sit there and stare at him? Take pictures on her phone? Did she even stay the whole time?
Reaching for his phone Namjoon immediately pulled up his doorbell camera footage. The last bit of movement detected had been at 11:35pm and it was her slowly closing the door behind her - attempting to make the least amount of noise as possible. Then she sped walked to the elevator like she had hot coals under her feet. She looked like she couldn't wait to get out of there.
Yeah Namjoon was a little on edge earlier, but the session couldn't have been that bad. If she couldn't respect the fact he just wanted to hold hands, maybe she wasn't the cuddler for him. What the fuck was he thinking? He wasn't booking a session with her or anyone else on that site EVER again. This was a one time thing. He tried it, it failed, oh well.
Turning over he looked at the alarm clock next to him, it read 4:16am. Had he really been thinking about this for two hours? What the hell? His alarm would be going off at 6.
The universe must really hate him.
⠂⠄⠄⠂⠁⠁⠂⠄⠄⠂⠁⠁⠂⠄⠄⠂ ⠂⠄⠄⠂☆
Namjoon was out of his bed before his alarm even went off. He didn't get any extra sleep at all, even after taking his meds. He used that time to fold the laundry he had been neglecting the last couple of days.
The only good thing that came out of Namjoon's insomnia was the fact he got a lot of household chores done. All the serious things had been taken care of, so as of recent he'd been doing the most looked over things like changing the filter in his vacuum or deep cleaning the lint trap in his dryer. Just random things to get him through the night.
When he walked into the practice room a few hours later he was immediately bombarded with questions. Jimin being the first to rush over and ask.
"Hyung how did it go?! Did she sign the NDA?"
"Yes she signed it."
Jin spoke up next. "Was it weird? Did she try to pull anything on you?"
Namjoon bent down to start his stretches. "Weird in the sense I had to let someone all up in my space, but her as a person wasn't weird. Awkward for sure, but not weird. She seemed like she couldn't care less to touch me with a ten foot pole."
Taehyung came over to help pull Namjoon's arm for his stretch. "So she didn't know who you were?"
That was a good question. Namjoon didn't see any hint of recognition on her face when they came face to face, but she could just be an expert at keeping her cool. If she knew who he was she would have tried pressuring him to cuddle wouldn't she? If anyone else was in her situation he was sure they would have. Who wouldn't want a famous idol as a notch on their belt? For now, Namjoon was just going to assume she didn't.
"I don't think she did. Which was kind of odd because if I was her and I had to sign an NDA, I would have been questioning me as soon as I got through the door."
"Maybe she knew but just didn't care," Jungkook shrugged.
"That's true."
"Forget all of that. How did you sleep last night Namjoon?" Yoongi cut in from his seat in the corner of the practice room. They locked eyes in the mirror. He couldn't lie to Yoongi, he had this way of always knowing when Namjoon lied even when it was a little white one.
He let out a sigh, "I was able to fall asleep while she was there, but I woke up at 2am and couldn't sleep again."
"What time did you fall asleep?"
"Around 10:30."
"So roughly four hours. No waking in between?"
"Nope."
Yoongi rubbed his chin like he was contemplating something, but shook his head dismissing whatever he was going to say.
"That's good Namjoon! It's a short time, but at least you slept through those hours!" Hoseok said shaking his shoulders in excitement.
Jimin did a victory dance. "My plan worked! Now we just need to keep booking those appointments and soon you'll be sleeping the whole night!"
Namjoon looked around at his giddy bandmates and felt bad. He hated to be the bearer of bad news, but he was never doing that again.
"I appreciate everything Jimin, but I don't think that actually helped. I was pretty exhausted from everything yesterday and I had my sleeping pills, so I think my body just naturally shut down for a little while."
The younger turned to look at him with a pout.
"It was nice to try something new and I really do appreciate you for looking out for your Hyung, but that is something I will not be doing again."
He could tell Jimin and the others were a little upset by his decision, but they respected him and the things he wanted to do so they didn't fight him.
"Now let's get this dance down!"
⠂⠄⠄⠂⠁⠁⠂⠄⠄⠂⠁⠁⠂⠄⠄⠂ ⠂⠄⠄⠂☆
Eden was happy to see the rest of her cuddle session money hit her account at the end of the week. As much as she wanted to escape that session it was a job, and she did get paid wayyyy more than what she originally asked for. Skipping into the kitchen she hummed in content as she pulled out the ingredients she needed for her breakfast. She had a new outlook on Cuddle Buddies. Although the rate for one session with Namjoon was most likely to never happen again. He did give her the idea to offer new packages. If he was willing to hold her hand for 800 thousand won she could only imagine what her other rates could go for at normal prices. She was selling herself short. Putting her imaginary business pantsuit on, Eden got to changing the packages on her account. She'd be damned if she quit the app now. There were things to do and clients to make!
"Alright how does this sound? Hand holding and side hugging with my head on their shoulder for 150 thousand won, full body cuddles 250 thousand won, and for every hour they want me to stay its 100 thousand won capping at 3 hours. All clients start with an hour."
"No add ons?" Sunhi's voice questioned over the running water.
Eden was so eager to hear feedback on her new cuddling packages she couldn't wait for her friend to get out of the shower. So she brought her laptop into the bathroom and posted up on the toilet seat. She was glad she did because Sunhi normally gets her best ideas in the shower.
"What do you mean?"
"Like shit they can buy to add onto their session. You can't just put it all on the floor for 250 thousand won. Charge them for head massages orrrrrrr oh my god I'm a genius! Make them pay for cuddle positions!"
Eden looked at the shower curtain in judgement. "Now Sun that's just greedy as fuck."
Her friend's soapy head popped out of the shower curtain offense written all over her face. Eden couldn't even take her seriously because the girl's hair stood up just like Jimmy Neutrons.
"It's fucking genius. Hear me out...obviously they can do the basics. Big spoon little spoon, your head on their chest, back to back, shit like that. But then! You charge say 40 thousand won for you to sit on their lap, or them to lay between your legs. Anything on the brink of nsfw but doesn't cross that line just yet."
To be honest that didn't sound like a bad idea. Would it be weird to have a strangers head near her lady parts...yes, but it did help rack the bill up a little and she did need the money fast. So deep in her thoughts she didn't even notice Sunhi step out of the shower and put her robe on.
"Don't think too hard about it. I know you, right now you're okay with it but the more you think about it the more in your head you get and you start thinking about logistics and shit."
"I do not! It's just a little too intimate for me to do with a stranger that's all."
Sunhi moved to the sink to start her skin care routine. "If it's too much only offer those add ons to returning clients. That way you'll know if they're a perv or not and it encourages them to book again." She shrugged like it was the most obvious thing in the world.
This is why Eden came to her. Sunhi may be a little crazy, but she's studying business and has always been an entrepreneur. In middle school she started a slime business that got so big the school had to shut her down. Making a business plan was a walk in the park for her. Taking her idea into consideration Eden sat for a moment before posting the new packages. She trusted Sunhi's judgement and advice.
Excusing herself from the bathroom she headed back to her room. When she got there, the sound of her phone buzzing on her desk made her freeze at the threshold of her door. It was the notification sound of Cuddle Buddies. Did someone book one of her new packages already?
'NEW REVIEW!'
rpwprpwp: "Annoying, but takes her job very seriously."
"What an asshole!"

Namjoon stared back at Jimin with a bored look on his face. The younger had found out all Namjoon did was hold hands the whole cuddle session after he had a tiny slip up and told the truth to Yoongi during a studio session. Now he was receiving the lecture of a lifetime.
"What a waste of my time and money Hyung! Do you like to see me waste my money is that what this is? Huh?! Oh my goodness that poor girl!" He said pacing. "She was probably so uncomfortable and confused. What sad weirdo would pay her 800 thousand won to just sit and hold hands?! Tell me Namjoon Hyung. Quickly!"
He felt as if Jimin was doing too much. At the end of the day he still tried it and the girl got paid. It was a win-win in his eyes. He ran his hand down his face annoyed at the whole situation.
"You had one job! No wonder you weren't able to sleep. You didn't even give it a fair shot."
That struck a nerve with Namjoon. How could Jimin even say that when he stepped way out his comfort zone for that session. He had to let a stranger into his home, his personal bubble, and even left himself vulnerable and fell asleep next to her! This was unfair, it's like he was damned if he did damned if he didn't. Standing up from his chair he walked away. If he stayed any longer he was sure he would say something he was going to regret.
Jimin's shoulders sagged as he watched his leader walk away. There was no use in following him, he knew if Namjoon walked away from a conversation it was best to just leave him alone. He didn't mean to make him upset. Jimin just hated seeing him so tired. Everyone could see a change in Namjoon since he'd been dealing with his insomnia. His eye bags were terrible, he hadn't been very focused, his energy was low, and his irritability was extremely high. It seemed to have only gotten worse since he had a taste of sleep last week and hasn't been back since.
Deciding to drop it, Jimin took out his phone to send a quick text before he wiped his hands clean with the situation.
Jimin: Here's the login information for the account. The site asks for everyone to comment a review so they don't seem like an illegitimate business.
Jimin: I won't force another session on you Hyung
Jimin: I'm sorry
Namjoon looked down at the messages he received hours ago and sighed. He hated when his members were upset. Although his feelings got a little hurt in the process, Jimin hadn't been totally wrong about Namjoon not giving it a fair chance. He just thought the idea was stupid. A year of suffering from insomnia and a cuddle session was supposed to help alleviate his symptoms? It just made no sense.
He thought back to the girl. Her wild ginger hair, the baggy clothes that hid the curves he was sure she had, the way she rocked back and forth on her heels waiting for him to invite her in. The shocked look on her face when he pulled her close. She didn't seem like the type of person who would want to do that for a job, but he did remember her saying it was her first session too. He probably scared her away from the job forever. Feeling guilty, he logged into the site and left a simple review.
rpwprpwp: "Annoying, but takes her job very seriously."
There, now people could see she was real and not a sex bot.
Two minutes later, the vibration of his phone buzzing ran through his chest. He had a message on cuddle buddies.
gardenofeden:You know I can leave reviews for clients too right?
gardenofeden: How does "sad little virgin man who has a fetish for holding sweaty palms" sound?
Namjoon scoffed. He was definitely far from a virgin and he for sure did not have a fetish.
rpwprpwp: I'd sue you for defamation
gardenofeden: Means you'd have to admit to the world you used a cuddle buddy service mister NDA
rpwprpwp: Touché
A few minutes passed before it buzzed again.
gardenofeden: How'd you sleep that night?
He didn't reply.

Eden got her first real cuddle buddies booking a few days later. Her client was a man named Dawoon and he booked a full body cuddle session. She stood outside of the apartment building unconsciously nibbling at her bottom lip - a nervous habit she couldn't seem to break. The building was okay, it wasn't run down or anything, but it wasn't luxurious like Namjoon's.
When he answered the door Eden was pleased to see he looked exactly how he did in the pictures he sent over. After binge watching videos of other professional cuddlers, she made sure to enforce a rule of 3 mandatory pictures and a phone call before she confirmed the booking. Safety first.
Dawoon looked young, but maybe a year or two older than her. He wore a short sleeve button up, khakis that were pulled up a little high, and glasses. He reminded her of the korean version of Steve Urkel minus the giant frames. He looked nervous. The small beads of sweat on his forehead giving him away. Reaching into her hoodie pocket, Eden was relieved to feel her taser taking up the space. She was ready if he tried anything.
They settled on his couch together and sat in silence as Eden took in the space. The lighting was dim and warm, not in a romantic 'baby lock them doors and turn the lights down low' way, but an easy on the eyes kind of way. It was a decent sized studio apartment so she was able to see everything.
He had a full sized bed tucked into the corner, a desk opposite the bed filled with gadgets with the wires hanging out, a black book bag hanging from the back of his chair. He must be a student. He had a beanbag chair surrounded by a ton of books in the corner of his living room, a weighted dinosaur occupying the seat for now.
Dawoon cleared his throat once, twice, then another time like it was bothering him. "I, um... wrote down what helps me," he said finally, voice shaky but gentle. He held out a folded sheet of paper with both hands, like a kid offering a permission slip.
Eden took it with a small smile.
"I-I figured it would be easier to write it down," he added quickly, like she was going to leave if he didn't explain himself. He rested one hand on his knee and brought the other to squeeze his arm. A way he liked to self soothe.
She unfolded the paper. His hand writing was neat and perfect, almost like an architects.
• I like being little spoon
• I use a weighted blanket
• squeezing and pressure ground me
• sudden movements overwhelm me
• please ask before you touch me
• if I start to panic, just hold still. Don't talk too fast
This warmed Eden's heart. He just needed someone to hold him.
"Thank you for this Dawoon," she said giving him small grin. "It really helps me a lot."
He nodded, his shoulders relaxing a little at her response.
"We can start slow," she assured him with a nod. "Did you want to change into something more comfortable?" She questioned looking his outfit over once more.
He thought for a second before shaking his head no.
"Are you ready to start?"
He brought his hand up and started smoothing his bangs. It kind of looked like he was giving himself pets. "I think so. Should we move to the bed?"
Eden almost choked on her spit. She hadn't heard that from a man in a long time, it caught her completely off guard. Yanking her mind out of the gutter she stood up and followed him over. Eden noticed his mattress was firm as they got into position. Since everything was above the cover for her she let Dawoon get settled under his weighted blanket before they continued.
"Is it okay if I wrap my arms around you now?"
The man responded with a nod of his head, his eyes closed like he was bracing for impact.
Carefully, she rested her arm around him making sure to leave space between them so he wasn't uncomfortable. They laid like that for a few moments before he spoke up.
"Umm...could you maybe wrap your leg around me as well?" his voice a soft whisper. "Then could you give me a big squeeze?"
Without a second thought Eden adjusted herself to better fit his needs. The second he felt the pressure from Eden, his whole body deflated like he'd been holding his breath all day.
For the next two hours they laid just like that with the occasional, "Can you squeeze me again?" from Dawoon every now and then.
On her way down the stairs she smiled and waved goodbye to her new client. Their two hour session such a success he'd booked her Mondays and Thursdays for the rest of the month.
Happy with the outcome, Eden thought she'd treat herself with some ice cream. Pulling out her phone to find the nearest convenience store she noticed a message from cuddle buddies.
rpwprpwp: I slept like shit
rpwprpwp: Maybe we could try again tonight?
Eden rolled her eyes. Now he wanted to text back? She almost ignored his message until she remembered he was rich. Oh the things she did for money. Looking at the time she felt a sense of urgency run through her system. If she ran she could catch the 10:15 bus to that side of town.
An hour later, she was standing in front of his door. Same building. Same pat down. Same 45 minute bus ride. Same feeling of wanting to run away. But she stayed. She had to.
She rang the doorbell and rocked back and forth on her heels nervously. When the door finally opened Namjoon looked around confused.
"What are you doing here? I didn't book another session."

"I'm sorry Namjoon-ssi, but I can't give you more. Anything else and you'll be taking horse tranquilizer." The elder said, sympathy etched onto his face.
Namjoon had been seeing Dr. Im for over a year now for his insomnia and none of the treatments or medicines had been effective. At first, he saw progress here and there. He'd avoid caffeine for the day, work himself to the limit, wind down, take his meds, and be out like a light.
Until he wasn't.
Sleep would only take over for maybe 3 hours before Namjoon was wide awake left in his thoughts. When this happened he asked for a stronger dose and continued to until he reached the max. Now he was back in Dr. Im's office at square one.
"Well now what am I supposed to do? It seems as if we tried everything and my medicine was the only thing partially helping me get through the night."
Dr. Im adjusted his glasses before opening Namjoon's file on his desk. "You've been avoiding drinking an excessive daily amount of caffeine correct?"
"Yes."
"And you've upgraded your sleeping atmosphere? Better pillows, blackout curtains, the ac at a nice temperature to keep everything cool?"
Namjoon ran his hand over his face in frustration, "Yes. Yes. and Yes. I've done and tried every possible solution doc."
Dr. Im sat for a second with a look of contemplation on his face before he shocked the hell out of Namjoon with his next words.
"When was the last time you had sex? Or any form of intimacy?"
The room fell into silence, only the soft hum of the ac and typing from the waiting room could be heard as Namjoon shifted in his seat uncomfortably.
"You don't have to be embarrassed Namjoon-ssi we are both adults here. I only ask because intimacy has also been a known method of improving sleep."
The reality was, Namjoon couldn't remember the last time he was intimate with someone. He hadn't dated in years and hooking up wasn't ideal as an idol. Anything could get out and he didn't want to take that risk.
Has he had the opportunity? Yes, on plenty of occasions. But he wasn't a huge fan of giving himself to just anybody. Personal space was also something he cherished deeply, and being in a group with six affectionate men had him craving it at the end of his days. So being close to someone else has been the last thing on his mind for a while now.
He shrugged, "I can't remember the last time honestly. It's not like I haven't taken care of it on my own or anything. I'm not backed up. Just haven't been with anybody."
Dr. Im let out a soft chuckle. "Well Namjoon-ssi intimacy doesn't just have to be sex. Simply holding hands or cuddling could be classed as that as well. When you receive affection your body releases oxytocin which helps induce physical relaxation."
Namjoon nods in understanding.
"I'm not saying you should go out and find just anyone and lay down. But maybe start small even if it's with a friend. Give someone a nice hug or hold someone's hand and see how that makes you feel. Start small and work your way up."
"So you're saying me being touch starved might have something to do with me not being able to sleep?"
"Precisely. Now I will write you another script so you can get your refill for your meds, but by the next time you need another one I want to hear of you working on intimacy and trying new things so you can stop relying on these pills."
"You've got it doc."

Eden was stressed. The last thing she wanted to be doing before class was sitting in the financial office on campus. Her leg was bouncing a mile a minute and she couldn't stop chewing on her bottom lip.
She had gotten an email last night about an unpaid balance on her account and immediately scheduled a meeting for the next day. Something wasn't right. The last time she checked everything had been good financial aid wise. She got into SNU on scholarship and even got additional scholarships she worked hard to apply for. She should be set for the year.
"Eden she's all ready for you."
Standing, she took a deep breath and adjusted the tote bag on her shoulder. Everything was going to be okay, or so she hopes.
Her financial aid officer Hannah had a nice office. It had the strong smell of sugar cookies, but the decor of a pediatric office. To Eden, it was better than bare white walls that gave you nothing but the sense of impending doom. She had strawberry throw pillows on the couch adjacent to her desk, a cute infographic about the steps of applying for financial aid, and a frog pen holder. The environment made Eden hold off on working herself up.
"Hello! It's so nice to finally meet you in person!" The woman said rounding the desk to give Eden a handshake.
The girl was too nervous to open her mouth in fear of emptying her stomach all over the place so she settled for a smile.
Hannah gestured to the chair in front of her desk. "Please sit! This should be relatively quick."
Quick? Maybe there was just a minor misunderstanding after all Eden thought as she claimed her seat.
"So as you know there's an unpaid balance of 20 million won on your account. With your financial aid package from SNU I was able to get it down to 15 million won but unfortunately the scholarships you got from 'Yuhwan company' and 'Abroad in Seoul' fell through. Something about their companies filing for bankruptcy so they had to retract all scholarships. I tried everything in my power to find you a sponsor for this semester but the deadline to file for one has closed."
Eden's heart fell to her ass.
"I could get you on the list for next semester but until then, the balance on your account has to be paid in the next two months or you will be dropped from your program."
She wanted to cry. How the fuck was she supposed to come up with 15 million won in the next two months? This whole time she had avoided looking Hannah in the eyes, and she should have continued because as soon as they locked eyes and she saw the look of pity on the woman's face she broke down in tears.
Studying abroad had always been her dream and this last semester at SNU had been so life changing. It was crazy how it was all going to be taken away from her if she couldn't get that money.
Using her sleeve to wipe her eyes under her thick framed glasses Eden sucked in a deep breath to calm herself down. She was an emotional person, but never did she see herself crying in this lady's office today.
From the corner of her eye she saw a tissue being passed her way. She accepted it gratefully.
"Everything will be okay honey. This is just a minor setback. I will continue searching for any scholarships that can be applied here. Don't let this deter you from staying on top of your studies. You will get through this."

Back home, Eden sat at the counter of her shared apartment looking at job postings. The more and more she scrolled the more discouraged she got. "Every damn job pays like shit or conflicts with the days I already work at Far Ben. At this rate I might as well pack my bags and say bye bye Korea!"
Sunhi, her roommate, let out a huge sigh. Her patience wearing thin. "What do you expect?! You've been looking at regular ass jobs when you need an unrealistic amount of money in an unrealistic amount of time. If you need money this fast you either rob a bank or sell your body and honestly right now the second option is not looking too bad for you."
Eden's face scrunched up in disgust, "Of course you suggest I sell my puss you fucking perv. I'm being serious here Sun what do I do?"
"I am being serious E!" The girl exclaimed, falling back on the couch dramatically. "Nobody said you had to get naked. There are plenty of options for girls to get money online without showing too much or anything at all. See look! This girl right here is a professional cuddler in Texas and makes serious money."
"Girl that is Texas we are in KOREA! That shit is probably nonexistent here. And even if it was here I'm not about to press my body up against some creepy man for hours just for some pocket change."
"Not even for 200 thousand won a session?"
Eden's head whipped over to her roommate. Holding up her phone for the girl to see Sunhi showed a website for people looking for cuddlers.
"Looks like Cuddle Buddies is a popular site in Korea. You just post your profile tell your starting rates and wait for someone to reach out."
Intrigued, Eden hopped on the couch next to Sunhi and grabbed the phone to get a closer look.
The site looked legit with testimonials and real looking profiles. She even took a second to search reddit forums to see if anyone had tried the site and lo and behold many people have.
"See! I told you there were ways to get fast money." Sunhi said drumming on her friend's thigh before taking her phone back. "We are so making you a profile."
"Absolutely not! You may have the personality for that, but I'd deadass probably throw up if I was put in that situation Sun. You know me!"
The girls had become great friends in middle school and decided to move to Korea to study at the end of their senior year. Sunhi, already having grown up in Korea most of her life happily jumped at the opportunity to move back and Eden was just happy to finally get out of her toxic household.
So the summer of eighth grade both girls swore an oath to only speak korean with each other and Sunhi's family so Eden could learn quickly. By the time tenth grade came rolling around she was fluent and even thinking in korean.
Sunhi had always been the outgoing one out of the two. Never afraid to speak her mind or take up space in any room. Eden on the other hand, never liked being the center of attention nor did she put herself in positions where she could potentially be. So that night she went to bed determined to find a normal second job in the morning.
An hour after crawling in bed she couldn't sleep. She feared Sunhi was right. She needs that money and the timeline to get it is unrealistic as fuck.
Before she knew it she was up taking determined strides to Sunhi's room. Bursting in she scared the shit out of her friend who was in the middle of pulling a satin bag out of her side table.
"WHAT THE FUCK?! Oh my god Eden knock next time! I was about to get freaky!"
"Oh god sorry!" She immediately shut the door in embarrassment.
"Girl you might as well come in now."
"Right okay." She slipped back into the room. "You had a point and I think we should make the profile."

A week had passed since Eden created her Cuddle Buddies profile and the only messages she got so far were perverted men asking if she was open minded. All she could do was block and report their users. After the third time, she just logged onto her computer and started searching for real jobs again.
She should have known better than to actually think that website was a legit and easy way to make money. If she wanted that kind of attention all she had to do was walk down the street in Hongdae.
She was on the couch bingeing The Pitt fantasizing a life with Dr. Robbie when her phone buzzed. Another noti from Cuddle Buddies. Eden wasn't about to let another fuck boy ruin her day so she ignored it.
Until her phone buzzed again, and another time after that.
rpwprpwp: Hi I am very interested in your services

"Jimin you did what!" Namjoon yelled into his phone. His eyeballs almost popping out of his socket reading the email on his laptop.
'Your Cuddle Buddy session has been booked'
"Hyung I'm sorry! We were all just so worried about you and when you told us what the doctor said and you told us you haven't had 8 hours since before the military, I thought this could help!"
Angry, the man ran his hand through his hair. He knows Jimin means well but inviting a complete stranger to his home without consulting him crossed every line. Especially from some random website that looked like a home for sex bots.
"It's a legit service Namjoon-ah we checked into it when Jimin proposed the idea. Our team went through the whole site and found someone who best matches what we thought you'd be comfortable with." Their manager cut in.
Jimin had made sure he added the man as well to see if he could convince Namjoon to go through with it.
"You guys can't just make these types of damn decisions without me. I feel violated and they aren't even here yet!"
"I understand that Hyung but she seems really nice! And she takes this very seriously we had to answer all of these questions and send proof about you and your home before she even considered saying yes."
"You sent her my face?!"
He could hear JImin scoff through the phone, "I'm not a freaking idiot Hyung she doesn't know exactly what you look like but she does know you are a high profile individual and that you'll have an NDA waiting for her to sign at the door."
Namjoon paced around his house in circles. He was shuffling so much in his slippers you'd think he was on the verge of burning a hole in his expensive rug.
"I don't have NDA's just sitting around Jimin!"
Their manager cleared his throat, "Actually we keep them at the front desks of your buildings. Seeing as you don't bring anyone back to your apartment or really hookup you haven't had use for them."
"That is really sad Hyung."
Namjoon could feel his ears turning red. "Shut up Jimin!"
"When she arrives at the building we gave her the codeword to use so she can obtain the document. Once she's signed and cleared, the security team will let her up."
"Normally when we do this we have security take their phones away but since you won't be fucking her hyung we left that up to you."
"If you truly don't want to do this Namjoon-ah we could cancel this whole thing. We just really need you rested for this comeback and if you don't start sleeping the fans are going to start to notice."
Could he be okay with this? Jimin and their manager seemed to have everything under control and thought out. And all he wanted to do was fucking sleep, but who knew if this would even be the solution to his problems? He hated people in his personal bubble. Especially strangers. But their manager also did have a point. Army will definitely notice he hasn't been sleeping soon and he couldn't possibly live with himself if he didn't try everything in his power to get better.
Looking out of his huge floor to ceiling windows at the bustling city of Seoul below him Namjoon let out a breath he didn't even know he was holding.
"I'll give it a try."

Eden didn't know how to feel on the bus ride over to this strangers address. On one hand she was giddy to finally get her first client, but on the other hand this felt too good to be true and scary.
This rpwprpwp person didn't seem like a weirdo but the biggest red flag was the fact that he couldn't show his face. She of course knows catfish 101 and that people who don't show their faces are red flags, but when that 200 thousand won payment hit her account as a deposit for tonight she let curiosity take over. Even if it could potentially kill the cat in the end.
They agreed on a 2 hour cuddling session in a neutral setting in his house. The living room. That way Eden could always be by an exit no matter what. Sunhi gifted her a taser when she heard the news this morning, so she had some form of self defense ready if anything went down.
She requested that the client take a shower and that the environment was clean. In return she was asked to sign an NDA before entering the house. This also making the saxophones in her head get a little louder.
All of this was just screaming red flag, but something in her gut told her she would be okay and her gut hasn't steered her wrong yet.
When she reached the front of the building she was greeted by a sweet looking doorman who looked as if he was in his late fifties. It was almost 9 o'clock and the streets were starting to clear so maybe he would be able to go home soon.
She tucked her curly dyed ginger hair behind her ear and gave him a slight bow as she entered the building.
The lobby was beautiful and definitely looked like she'd have to sell her whole soul to be able to afford a place like this. All decked out with nice furniture and polished floors.
Taking a deep breath she plastered a smile on her face and walked up to the front desk. "Hello I am meeting someone here and I was told to come to the front desk and say Nukim?"
The man behind the desk wasted no time whispering into his earpiece before sliding a piece of paper between them.
"Please take your time and read this. Once you're finished you can turn it over to me and meet Mr. Song over by the elevator."
It took her fifteen minutes to thoroughly read the NDA and when she couldn't find anything wrong on the document she sealed her name and gave it to the man.
Following directions she went to the elevator where she was checked, briefed, and escorted to the front doors of the penthouse.
Eden would be lying if she didn't say she was nervous as fuck. Security took her taser but let her keep her phone so she wasn't entirely helpless. But this was her last chance to turn around before she was forced into this session.
She was getting cold feet. Maybe this was a bad idea. She's not built for this life. What the hell was she thinking?
Pivoting she started to make her way back to the elevator when the sound of the front door opening stopped her in her tracks.
"Umm you're Eden right?"
⠂⠄⠄⠂⠁⠁⠂⠄⠄⠂⠁⠁⠂⠄⠄⠂ ⠂⠄⠄⠂☆
Namjoon stared at the short girl with orange hair with curiosity. Was she about to bail on their session?
"Ahh yes! That is me. I am Eden." She thrust her hand out so fast to shake Namjoon's he flinched at the sudden movement. "Oh god sorry! Didn't mean to scare you. It's nice to meet you"
This time she bent her body in half to bow.
This made Namjoon flustered, "It's okay you can stand up a handshake was good enough. Come in."
She pushed her thick tortoise patterned glasses back up the bridge of her nose and stepped inside.
She wasn't what Namjoon expected at all. She was a short girl maybe 5'3 or 5'4. Her hair was thick and curly dyed a nice shade of ginger that suited her smooth brown skin. She sported an oversized long sleeve gray vintage tee and baggy sweats but he could tell she had a nice hourglass figure underneath.
Not that he cared or was looking too hard. Just an observation.
Namjoon was glad she didn't dress up for the session. It made him feel better for opening the door in just a hoodie and sweatpants.
He watched as she slipped her converse off before slipping into the slippers he left out for her.
They stood for a moment just looking at each other before Namjoon realized it was his job to introduce her to the space.
"Right. The living room is this way."
This couldn't be any more awkward.
"You have a beautiful home." He heard her quietly say behind him, a feeble attempt to break the ice.
He looked around acknowledging the decor in his house like hasn't seen it a million times before humming in agreement.
She took a seat on the couch opposite him, looked at her phone for a second, took a breath, and began speaking more self assured than before.
"So as you know we agreed on a 2 hour cuddle session from 9:30 pm to 11:30 pm. Both of us will stay fully clothed at all times and a barrier will be placed between our lower areas for professionalism. I showered before I came and from the looks of your hair it looks like you have too?"
Staying quiet he gave her a nod in response.
"Okay cool. I know security mentioned something about my phone. I'm okay leaving it on the table but I'd like to keep it nearby for safety reasons if that's okay?"
She was putting herself in such a vulnerable position and asking permission for a tool to keep her safe. Either she's new to this or too trusting of an individual.
"I don't mind just don't take any photos. It's a breach of the NDA if you do."
He watched her mouth open and close like she wanted to say something, but ultimately chose against it.
"Before we start I just want to say I didn't book you. My friend did."
Her face turned up in confusion. Maybe he should have elaborated better.
"I know it's all weird. I have insomnia and my doctor suggested that physical touch might help encourage sleep. I told my friends and they took it upon themselves to book your service for me."
"So we weren't the ones talking on the site then?"
"Technically no, but he did give me the whole rundown and everything he said really is the complete truth. I was just too stubborn to actually do something to help myself so he did it for me."
"I-I don't even know what to say."
"I promise he had no ill intentions and neither do I. I just have a very demanding job and I need to be well rested for it. I haven't slept consecutively for over a year. I only get 3-4 hours of sleep before I'm wide awake left alone in my thoughts. I'm willing to give this a try if you are still okay with it?"
They sat in silence for a good three minutes. No doubt a war going on in her head. It was better to tell her Jimin set this whole thing up rather than lie and let her think like he knew just exactly everything they talked about.
Another minute passed before she straightened her back and pulled a bonnet out of her tote bag to put over her hair. "So do you like being the little spoon or the big spoon?"
