Gordon Freeman gave the young woman a scrutinizing look, knitting his brow together as he regarded her. Since he arrived in this dimension, a variant of the Earth much akin to his own that wasn't much more than a ruined, infested shell, he required a guide. Ordinarily, Gordon preferred to travel alone, but these Cordyceps creatures proved to be a unique threat. So he made an accord with this young woman to help her with her own goals, whatever they may be so that they both would have greater chances of surviving.
