Overall, I think despite its artistry, it'd be too bleak for the two of them.
I feel like Maria probably wouldn't want to play it due to its depressing nature; she's the kind of character who prefers to hope for a better future.
Despite that, she'd probably see a kindred spirit in Alyx and find Lamarr cute. She'd likely bunny-hop through Kleiner's lab to look at everything and try to save every scientist if possible. She'd probably also feel bad about killing intelligent species such as the Vortigaunts and the Nihilanth. Houndeyes are just big space doggies <3
As a man possessed of strong ethical qualms, Gerald would probably be disturbed and unnerved by Black Mesa's blatant disregard for life. He'd think it bordered on irresponsible to portray scientists as holy fools who get turned into cannon fodder.
The implication that the facility was working on shady experiments would probably hit too close to home, so he might not delve deep enough to appreciate the series' environmental storytelling and anti-fascist themes. Overall, he wouldn't allow Shadow or Maria to play the games due to their violent and graphic nature... unless they were playing the censored German version where killed enemies sit and shake their heads.
Eggman, on the other hand, would probably rip and tear just for the power fantasy of curbstomping his enemies. No government is going to tell him what to do. No alien coalition is going to conquer HIS turf. Breen whomst? ahaha get a face full of Gluon gun
