Why won't people understand that getting the show picked up *somewhere* is more important at this point that where it is picked up? We won't get a GMW S4 if no network takes it up in the first place. Why not just cover our bases and contact everyone possible?
This is pretty much what I’ve been saying from the start. I know mannnny people prefer Netflix (as did I!), but despite the fact that we need to be reaching out to as many places as possible, people seem to be just plain stuck on Netflix as though it was the only option we ever had. There has been far more action on Netflix than on Hulu, even though Hulu has less red tape to cut through. And I get it. Netflix is a giant. We all love Netflix. But they’re not the only potential home out there.
If people want to keep beating the Netflix drum despite news that it’s a dead end, then they gotta do them. They outnumber me obviously. From where I sit though, a journalist who has always been reliable and who has never been anything but an ally to this fandom went out and got us a scoop ahead of the finale which is our last big shot for a push outside the fandom. So, for my part, I’m going to appreciate that scoop, and I’m going to change my approach and focus more on outlets that haven’t leaked a no-go to a reliable journalist.
Other people’s mileage may vary, but that’s where I’m at. If it turns out Linda Ge has just scuttled her journalistic integrity, then so be it. But until she’s proven wrong by something other than a live chat (the Community fandom had a similar issue during their campaign), I believe her and I’m going forward with new information in my hand.
