Riley Marshall - Portland Thorns FC (EUA)
calligordon:
Callisto leaned into Riley, wrapping her arms around her waist. âI might have stayed up all night with Harry planning on how we were going to get Linds back.â She said sleepily. âIâm really excited for you to get back out there. I miss watching you play and that smile that gets on your face when you score.â Callisto rested her head on Rileyâs shoulder, closing her eyes for a second and listening to that voice she fell in love with. âYou might be a new kid, but remember youâre married to a vet and you already know everyone. Itâs not like you have to make friends or anything. EVeryone know who you are and they know what you can do. Just prove to them that you deserve to be here. All you have to do is be you, score some goals, and leave the boxing gloves in the training room.â Callisto let out a soft laugh at her own joke. âGood, I forsee at least three world cups together. But, can we go lay down somewhere? Take a short nap before we have to catch the bus.â
Riley grinned, letting the ball aside and evolving her wifeâs shoulders and rubbing her arm. âItâs cool to spend time with Harry, but you have to rest too. You wonât be able to do your magic if you are tired, and I am pretty sure coach donât want Zombie Calli on the field.â The striker gives a peck in the midfielderâs forehead, surprised at how much she missed the touch of Calliâs skin on hers. âIt will be good play. I am pretty sure she wonât use me much, since I came from injury, but just the smell of the grass and being on the field, able to play. Besides, three days in a hotel room, itâs good to make anyone ready to go out and do something.â She smiles, noticing how much sleepy Callisto was. leading her through the aisle that lead to the teamâs rooms. âItâs still unbelievable, you know, being here and fighting for a position with this much of talent. Hey boxing is one of my many talents, itâs also how keep my ass in shape.â The Striker jokes, searching for the card to open the door of the room. âHow about four? We just do like Rampone and play until 42.â Riley laughs, opening the door with her free hand and pushing her wife to the bed near the window. âWe can rest in my room. I still didnât had time to do my mess, but I bet Lloyd will make sure everyone is on that bus, and while I love Allie, she wonât let you rest properly if she caught us having a nap time together, and it will end on teamâs insta story.â
calligordon:
âTo be honest, I donât think any one ever expected this to actually happen. Maybe your parents when we were little, but lately, no way. I think everyone thought I was going to marry a soccer ball or something.â Callisto let out a soft chuckle before intertwining their fingers together. When Riley stopped to take her shoes off, Calliâs draw dropped. âWait, are you serious?â Callisto smirked at the love of her life, falling more and more in love with her. Callisto slipped out of her own shoes and kicked them into the seats leaving her bare foot. âNow that weâve probably caused all sets of eyes to roll in this church, I am ready to be yours.â She let out soft smile, placing a gentle peck on Rileyâs cheek.Â
Callisto lead the striker down the aisle to where everyone was patiently waiting for them. She let out the biggest smile, letting go of Rileyâs hand so she could hug her two best friends. She said a few words to them before going over to her soon to be parents in law and hugging them. After a few moments, Callisto went back to her spot to wait for her almost wife.Â
Riley gave a peck in Callistoâs cheek, with the biggest smile on her face. âWell, if that happened, It would be the first time I would get insanely jealous of the ball.â She laughs, still in awe for realizing what they were about to do. âI dare you to say that you werenât also dying to take your shoes off too. At least now we can be more comfy. And now you can say that you took me to the barefoot size of the force.â The striker smiles with the lips of her future wife touching her cheek one more time before walking until the altar.
The butterflies in her belly ran wild while they strolled in the aisle, with all eyes on them, she waved a couple of times for the guests, mostly to hold her own anxiety on the bay. With a heartfelt hug on her parents and their friends, she took her place right at Callistoâs side, so the ceremony could start, becoming calmer to see that smile she loved so much. When the judge started speaking, Riley blessed the heavens she was holding Calliâs hands, otherwise she could simply thought this was all something from her imagination. The striker got herself wondering about their time a part and that she would never believed if someone told her back them she was going to get married with her first love. Lost in her own thoughts, Riley almost lost the time to say her vows. âWhen we first met on that futbol field when we were young, I would never guessed that the girl that nutmegged everyone, including the referee, was the love of my life.â She started, shaking her head when her cousin Charlie offered her the paper with a rough draft.âMy heart trembled every time you smiled at me and suffered whenever we were apart, even thought my mouth said otherwise. I donât remember loving anyone else the same amount that I love you. You were my first, and now, my last. Â Today, I take you to be my spouse. I promise to uphold the individuality and equality of our spirits, to share your joys and sorrows, to let you nutmeg me in the practices, to care for you in times of sickness, and to love you no matter what happens in our lives. It doesnât matter if we play for the same team or support different colors."

We wanted to test Riley Marshallâs accuracy with her shots, so we put her wife, Callisto Marshall, in goal with a shoe box. Calli may say that she missed, but we say she was on target.Â

calligordon:
To say that Callisto was exhausted was an understatement. She couldnât feel her legs from the tremendous amount of running and strength tests that they put her under. She also couldnât tell if her eyelids actually weighed a million pounds or if it was just her brain playing funny tricks on her. She honestly felt as though she was going to fall asleep face first in her dinner if A-Rod wasnât constantly pinching her. National Camp was always Callistoâs favorite time of the year. It was when she got to see all her best friends again. That was the main reason for her tiredness. Okay, maybe just one of them. But, because she couldnât sleep, sheâd stay up late with Harry or Linds or Sonnett or KO. Anyone really that was up to no good in the middle of the night.
After the fifth time A-Rod pinched her harder than ever, Callisto shoved the rest of her meal in her face and stood up. She needed a bed, or a couch, or a tub. Really anything that she could take a few minutes and rest before they had to get back for their second training session of the day. âIf Iâm not in the lobby by the time the bus comes, come find me.â Callisto said softly to her table and walked out of the room. In her tired state, she completely forgot that Riley was supposed to be getting done with her evaluations around the time dinner was served. âThat was a lazy goal.â Callisto said with a long yawn. âI really hope you know how to score better than that.â She smirked. âTrust me, you get used to it. Plus, you actually get to go to training tonight and play with a real ball with real players. Weâre all excited for you to finally get out there. But you do need to go eat before or else you might die on the pitch and that is something I do not want. I like being a newlywed not a widow.â
Riley smile and pouted playfully âIn my defense, smaller balls tends to be faster than the regular ones, this little asshole sometimes gets out of control.â The striker laughs, picking the ball before it hits the wall. âI am saving my best moves for the right time, otherwise the other teams will know how to stop meâ She says with a shrug, juggling the sphere on her hands, happy for finally being able to see her wife in the camp. âDid you slept today or spend the night having chatting with A-Rod, Kelley and Allie?â The striker comes closer, giving a peck in Calliâs cheek. âI am excited for that, I miss the smell of the grass and running after a ball and scoring a real goalkeeper instead of either Norbie or on Fifa, although I am not going to lie, sometimes it looks like as being the new kid going to a new school. Itâs thrilling but incredibly scaring.â Riley shrugs, trying to bury all her doubts under her armor, focusing on the good stuffs instead. âDonât worry, I will eat something when we get back. I brought a couple of snacks in backpack, just need to wait for Lloyd going to bed. And itâs not on the plans to leave you free that easily. But I need to warn you that they really includes to live by my lovely and hot wife for several years and win a world cup and top scorer of it.â
calligordon:
Callisto couldnât help but look deeply into Rileyâs deep blue eyes. They have always been a calming force towards her. Those blues were as wild and untamed as the ocean. Callisto could look into them as long as she could ride the waves. Looking into Rileyâs eyes meant that she was safe, that she was home. No matter how far apart they are or how long they have gone without seeing each other, all she would need when she got back would be to see those sparkling blues. âYou could have worn a garbage bag today and Iâd still think you were the most beautiful human being there is.â Callisto said softly. If she was being honest, she hadnât even noticed what the striker was wearing.
âIâm never going to run away.â Callisto admitted. âI tired staying away but look how well that ended up for me? I can never be away for long. Itâs you and me against the world. Thatâs my promise to you.â Callisto knew that no amount of words will ever be enough to prove that she wasnât going anywhere. She just had to constantly show Riley that this was it. The love that they shared would always trump everything. There was absolutely no backing out now. âIâm glad Iâm giving you a dream wedding then.â Callisto chuckled. âBecause you gave me the dream girl. Now come on, letâs go say I do before you get cold feet again or before Cheney comes out of the church looking for us.â She let out her smirk before walking into the church with Riley on her arm.
Riley felt her heart swoon over Callistoâs words. The midfielderâs touch was the enough to make a warm sensation take over her body and whenever it happens, it made her feel like they were the most unstoppable force of the universe, as if nothing could touch them as long they were together on the same side. Callli made her realize what having a soulmate it was all about, the other woman could know her thought only by a glance, she knew that they were connected and just thinking on losing her was enough to make Rileyâs heart to break a little. âYou are such smooth talker, Gordon.â The striker smiles, still feeling nervous about the ceremony, but more at ease for future wife statement. âI promise to you that my heart is yours forever, no one will ever take you out of your side. You are my first and the last person that I will ever love.â She gives a reassuring squeeze, pulling Callisto in the church direction. âItâs a tad late now, cause I am pretty sure these shoes are ruined and I can see them creating a search party to come after usâ the player asks with a grin before stepping in.Â
While they walked in Riley lost her breath. Everyone was there. She could see Calliâs siblings, her parents, her uncle and aunt along with her cousins. Cheney, A-Rod and their closest friends from USWNT and CanWNT all there, present. The striker couldnât help giggling imagining that they needed to see with their own eyes the couple finally getting married after years of fighting and running in circles around each other. âSo it seems that everybody was starting to questioning if we would show up todayâ, The player said with a smile but feeling her toes slippering. Before they could start the road. she stopped a minute, and took her shoes off. â I know I said no weird things but I donât want anything to on the way of our day.â Riley said winning a disapproval look from her mother in the altar. âNow I am ready to be your wife.â

After three days of awaiting in the hotel room, Riley finally got able to join the camp and to say she was excited it was more than a statement. Besides the anxiety of starting again on a new National team, she was incredibly happy to be playing for the best team in the world with Calllisto on her side. On the couple of months without being able to play were a torture and the striker missed this routine of training, going to the field, run and just play around with a ball, enjoying every little second of it. This made her feeling like a child back in Calgary, juggling balls in the school's pitch. However, the player was frustrated to say at last. Since she got there, while the others were in the field, working with balls, the forward was trapped the whole day doing physical evaluation and other kinds of medical that she had lost in the first days of the camp.Â
It was how Riley ended playing in the hotel corridor while everyone was dining. The striker claimed going to rest earlier, just to be in the middle of the quiet floor, playing with a small ball, dribbling some chairs and using a coffee table as a goal. She had just scored when she listened someone getting closer, being sure it could only be one person. âIt was not my best move, but a goal is always a goal right?!â She said with a large smile. âI knew you would be first to notice I was missing, I just couldnât miss the opportunity of doing this. I feel more like a lab rat than a footballer lately.â Â

Calli: Have you ever messed up when I'm right next to you?
Calli: Mind out of the gutter. When we get back to our apartment in Portland, we can stay naked for how ever long you'd like.
Riley: Well, never. But there's a first time for everything, right? Besides, I don't want to mess it in front of the whole team.
Riley: Fine, fine, I will do my best to walk the line. But I expect a lot of kisses and blanket fort when we get back to Portland.
