I may never sell as many books as Lee Child (hell, I'll never sell as well as ONE of his books, let's be honest), and I may never get a budget of a Tom Cruise movie, but at least they got MY heroes right the first time. 😉

Happy birthday to Riley Parra! Six years ago, the webseries based on my novels premiered. I still can't believe how lucky I got with this adaptation. To have Riley played by someone who is SO RIGHT for the character, and to have Liz Vassey take control of her love interest, and Priest... AHH PRIEST. I had no idea how they'd find the right person, but they did. Somehow they did. 😁
On an Instagram post from Christin Baker, the director of Riley Parra! As someone who has watched many things over and over again to the point where I can quote them, it means a lot that someone out there has done that for something I wrote. 😊
It also means a lot that so many people knew the answer immediately.
My friend Marem Hassler was on NCIS! It’s weird to say “friend” because we met because she was cast as the lead in my webseries Riley Parra. But we are friends. She gave me a ride home after midnight once! And now she’s on CBS winking at Gary Cole. What a world. 😁
Huge thanks to the Filmmakers Podcast for highlighting Riley Parra Better Angels!
I’m just so in love with that image. I’m such a lucky author. First adaptation of anything I’ve written, and I get Marem Hassler and Liz Vassey as its faces. Dream come true. 😁
Mit "Riley Parra – Better Angels" gelang Regisseurin Christin Baker ein mystischer Krimi mit viel Frauenpower. In einer Nebenrolle: Marina Sirtis (Deanna Troi) von der "Enterprise". (Film & TV - Dramen)
In case you didn’t know, the webseries based on my Riley Parra novels has been turned into a movie! (You can rent it here!) And we got a lovely write-up on a German website!
We are making a Riley Parra movie out of Seasson 1 and 2 and we have some cool merch. | Check out 'Riley Parra The Movie: Merch and Download' on Indiegogo.
Help us turn Riley Parra into a movie! Tello is in the process of re-editing the two seasons of Riley into a feature-length release, but they need a little help to make it happen. If you can help out, you can also get cool merch! Like a signed Liz Vassey picture! A BTS video! A digital download of the movie! Check it out!
Super huge congrats to Liz Vassey (Gillian Hunt) and Carolyn Ratteray (Caitlin Priest), who are OFFICIALLY Emmy-nominated for their work on Riley Parra! We’re Emmy nominated!
Our nominees! Wish them all luck!
Marem Hassler as Riley Parra (Best Lead Actress - Drama, Indie Series Awards)
Liz Vassey as Gillian Hunt (Outstanding Lead Actress in a Digital Daytime Drama Series, Daytime Emmys)
Carolyn Ratteray as Caitlin Priest (Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Digital Daytime Drama Series, Daytime Emmys)

The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (NATAS) announced the Digital Drama Series Pre-Nominations for the 46th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards. The Pre-Nominated Digital Drama Series wer…
Add another pre-nom to the list! Riley Parra is one of the top 11 digital drama series at the Emmys! Finalists will be announced on March 20!
Looking for something to watch this weekend? Check out both seasons of Riley Parra, only on Tello Films! It’s a dash of Rizzoli & Isles (except the detective and medical examiner actually do get to fall in love) with a bit of Wynonna Earp (badass ladies kicking demon ass), and it’s currently up for eight Indie Series Awards!
The nominees for the 10th Annual Indie Series Awards have been released and there are a slew of familiar soap faces in the mix, including Kevin Spirtas (ex-Craig, DAYS) for AFTER FOREVER; Marie Wil...
Forget the Emmys, Riley Parra is going back to the Indie Series Awards! Reigning Best Actress Marem Hassler gets a chance to defend her title. Christin Baker getting some much-deserved recognition for Best Director. Marina Sirtis is up for Best Guest Actress, which the little Trek nerd in me can’t even process. And the whole kit and kaboodle is up for Best Series. We’re also up for Best Cinematography with David Chung (another reigning champ) and Katie Mitchell for Costume Design! And last but not least, Cassandra Vance has another nomination for production design, as is Lucy Burton for visual effects! A total of eight nominations!
Wish us luck!!
Two of our ladies (maybe more...?!) will be at ClexaCon this year! Gillian Hunt and Caitlin Priest have been announced at guests!
Big huge stinkin’ CONGRATS to Liz Vassey, Carolyn Ratteray, and Marina Sirtis, all of whom were announced as pre-nominees for the Daytime Emmys for Riley Parra! The final list will be announced on March 20, so keep your fingers crossed! I’ve been a big fan of Liz for a very long time, and the idea of her getting even a nomination for something I wrote is making me emotional. I’m so proud and excited.
Wish them luck and, if you haven’t checked out the series yet, what are you waiting for?
In 2009, I started writing short stories about a detective named Riley Parra. I thought it would be fun to treat the stories like episodes, and collect them as seasons. It would be a fun way to pretend I was actually writing a real show, which was something I never dreamed would ever actually happen.
Two years ago today, in 2017, Christin Baker started filming the first season of the show. I saw the characters I made up brought to life by amazing actors, I heard my world explained by someone I've been a fan of for years (Connor Trinneer!), and someone I've been a fan of since the 90s (Liz Vassey) was playing one of my leads. Then season two happened and Marina Sirtis showed up, something I still can't quite wrap my brain around. And nothing, nothing, nothing will ever feel quite the same as watching Marem Hassler win a Best Actress award for playing my character.
I spent the entire production process telling myself not to get my hopes up, that it wouldn't be anything like what I dreamed, that it was bound to disappoint, but the finished product is so beyond my wildest dreams. I'm so proud of it, and I can't believe it's real.
Seasons 1 and 2 are available right now on Tello! If you watch them together, the runtime is about movie-length.
And if you’re more patient and want to read the whole story from start to finish, all five seasons are available in ebook!
An evolution of Riley and Gillian gripping each other’s fingers in Riley Parra. Season 2 ends today! See all of both seasons now, only on Tello!
Nine years ago, almost ten now, I wrote a series of stories and called them "episodes" and collected them as "seasons" because wouldn't it be funny if it was a real show with, like, actors and everything?
I just went and looked at the Riley Parra page on Tello's website and was struck by how... awesome it looks. It's a real show! With actors and everything! Two seasons so far, hoping to do more. Come check us out the next two Sundays for the final installments of Season 2!
