This is the place where I post pictures of all the remarkable animals I encounter in my life. I am a practicing veterinarian, rookie biologist, enthusiastic birder, and I have some experience working with wild animals in a veterinary setting. I’m currently researching infectious disease in reptiles and every turtle on this planet fills my heart with joy! I was trying to wait for a nice sunbeam to hit this glossy ibis so I could demonstrate how they really do deserve that name but this guy kept doggy scratching the whole time I was trying to get a photo.

asked one of my coworkers how she's doing today and she goes "could be better, could be worse," and another coworker nearby who was eavesdropping chimes in with "could be a lil bit o' alligator curse!" i have no idea what he meant by that but i do know that it has been immediately added to the lexicon.

You have piqued my curiosity. How does one give a stick bug a hemolymph transfusion? Where's the hemolymph sourced from?

The hemolymph can be sourced from other “donor” stick bugs! Here is the article outlining the procedure

Crying and wailing over this adorable fucking robber fly that was at work today incredibly ridiculously cute animal. Sentient teddy bear. SO well behaved as I took it outside and took one million photos. Sending it a billion trillion kisses in its general direction I love you so much babyfly

The rescue posted that this little family has been spotted several times since the introduction and they seem to be doing great 🥹
