Hi, i'm coming back here for a very important reason I hope people understand and respect. I feel ashamed for talking about these things here but I wasn't so desperate and in need I wouldn't even mention it.

As most of you know, I live in Venezuela, a country that has been in crisis for a long time. And for the last 5 years, nothing has been easy. Almost 4 years ago, my family and I had to say goodbye to my father who moved out of the country to help us survive this mess, and it all has been in 'control'. But ever since the world has stopped everything for a very important reason (and you should stay home), my father hasn't been working so he can't send money or even pay his own bills, he is eating only twice a day so he can have food for more days. It's all been insane and I have kept my problems shut and pray everyday to get through this.

We only don't have my fathers financial help, we also have other problems here in my town, specifically in my community and street, we don't have water. And we have to pay someone who can bring water to our place and it's very expensive. Every thing is coming all together and it's very suffocating and stressing. I hate seeing my mom so tired desperate, it makes my heart ache.

Due to this pandemic alert, we can't go out and work, or try to make money cause nobody is actually working here. In this moment of need, I just need someone to tell me it's going to be okay, I know there are a lot of people who are in my position and honestly I pray everyday for everyone in this world, so that we can be safe, healthy and find ways to make it possible.

This time, I'm gonna need the help for family from my father's side, me and my mom try to help them as much as we can but we don't have more to offer, they barely eat and they are four unemployed people trying to do whatever they can to survive. I have two aunts that are 60 y 62 years old and a an uncle that is 58, they still are able to work but the minimum salary that its paid here is not enough, not even to buy a food for one day. I actually like the idea that Taylor’s releasing a third brother album. I know I sound sleep deprived - which I am - but folklore is the bigger sister (Meredith), evermore would be the middle sister (Olivia) and woodvale would be the smaller brother (Benji).

Most of the things I had planned this summer didn’t end up happening, but there is something I hadn’t planned on that DID happen. And that thing is my 8th studio album, folklore. Surprise 🤗Tonight at midnight I’ll be releasing my entire brand new album of songs I’ve poured all of my whims, dreams, fears, and musings into. I wrote and recorded this music in isolation but got to collaborate with some musical heroes of mine; Aaron Dessner (who has co-written or produced 11 of the 16 songs), Bon Iver (who co-wrote and was kind enough to sing on one with me), William Bowery (who co-wrote two with me) and Jack Antonoff (who is basically musical family at this point). Engineered by Laura Sisk and Jon Low, mixed by Serban Ghenea & Jon Low. The album photos were shot by the amazing Beth Garrabrant. Before this year I probably would’ve overthought when to release this music at the ‘perfect’ time, but the times we’re living in keep reminding me that nothing is guaranteed. My gut is telling me that if you make something you love, you should just put it out into the world. That’s the side of uncertainty I can get on board with. Love you guys so much ♥️
