his heart is about to beat out of his chest and he genuinely feels sick. he had turned his back for one second -- to place his spear into the ground to launch himself into the air when he saw it happened. his prince being flung into a cliff. ignis could see the pain in his face, crimson blood on his pale skin and saw red rage.

yet he couldn't bring himself to take care of the enemy that hurt noctis -- that's what gladio was there for. no, he rushes over to check on noctis. with trembling hands, ignis combs his fingers through inky, dark locks. is there a cut? is there a bump? where is the blood coming from?

'you look worse, i'm afraid.' he's trying to keep his tone light, almost playful. ' at least it wasn't hour arm that was injured. i would hate to have to fish for our supper. '

ignis didn't mean to get swiped by such a simple nevron -- one of the ones with the spears that hang around the spring meadows. he wasn't paying attention, too focused on healing in lune's stead, when he got stabbed. thank goodness for maelle and her quick attacks that took down as many enemies as possible.
