I’m so excited but scared at the same time about the news concerning Yuuto.

Watanabe-sensei confirming that Yuuto wants to be a girl and that it will be explained in the manga in time is a wonderful thing and I really want to believe that he can handle the portrayal of the younger Shinkai sibling, but I’m also kinda scared about the part which mentioned that Yuuto partly wanted to be a girl because they have a complex about Hayato.

I’m really REALLY hoping it’s something like “I’m not comfortable with being a guy and while I really like my big bro, I want to step out of his shadow” because anything that would go the “I want to be a girl to please my brother” way would make so uncomfortable.

I do believe that the Shinkai siblings love each other very much but not in an incestuous way.

Hayato is probably a very doting older brother who loves to hug and cuddle his whole family and yeah, Yuuto looks up to him to the point where they choose the same bicycle brand as their older brother because Hayato likes it, but please, that doesn’t have to mean anything.

I also think that Yuuto wants to show that they are different from Hayato by specialising in a different category and thus became a climber instead of a sprinter. (Why is there so little info on Shinkai sibling interaction /sob)

Ahhh, I really hope that Yuuto’s time in the manga will come soon so that everything will be clear and until then I’ll just sit here, crossing my fingers that Watanabe-sensei will do his characters justice and keep up the good work.
