📲 ---> Text Kota & Don
@rip0penscars Dakota: We need to talk. I know it's late but we need to.
Donovan: Do you want to come to me, or me to you? Donovan: Or meet in the middle? I don't care if it's late, you're probably right. Donovan: you have a bad habit of being right sometimes.
Nodding his a little bit as he listened to her once they pulled away from the hug. "Makes sense and I always wanna see you, momma." He chuckled lightly with a small smile on his lips. "Did you make any more of that jam? Ya know people stop for it all the time and I'm almost out." He explained.
"I did actually!" Dixie beamed and reached into the vehicle and moved just enough to reach the floor of the passenger seat that had an entire box full of jam jars. "For you, Darlin'. Fresh made from home." She smiled at him. "I have more in the back on the floorboards, I just didn't want any of them breaking so I had to break them up into different boxes and places, you know I wouldn't come visit without bringing more." She teased a bit with another smile. "So, what have you been up to lately without me here?"
At the other woman's admission, Evie pouted. "It's on a similar line to sweet and salty. If you like both on their own, try them together! At least that's what I like to think happened." She giggled and moved over to the sink, getting the water hot before pushing the plug over the drain and placing the chicken inside. "Thank you." Evie cracked a few eggs into a bowl and whisked with a fork. "Do you have a favorite meal you'd like me to learn and add to the rotation?"
Elani had never had chicken and waffles; never really sounded like something she'd venture out to eat on her own, honestly. But she'd try most things at least once. "It sounds like it could be good, in the right increments..." Elani admitted and shrugged her shoulders with a small smile over at her. Nodding her head, the dark haired woman thought for a moment before speaking once more. "My favorite is chocolate and strawberry stuffed waffles, actually. I'm a big breakfast fan.... What about you?"
Valeria looked between her sisters, immediately catching the tension in the room. she tried her best to stay relaxed about it.
“Okay… well?” she leaned back slightly in her chair, brows knit. “Just get on with it.” Her tone was steadier than the look in her eyes. She was trying like always to keep her calm about it. A family meeting to talk about this father felt very ominous.
“Whatever it is, we’ll handle it. Papi will be alright Lil. He always is...” she added, glancing between Liliana and Gabriella again. “But somebody.” She glanced at Gabriella. “Needs to actually say what’s wrong first so we can help.”
@ofwildxhearts @rip0penscars
"Now is not a time for you to be stoic, Val." Gabriella commented before turning to look at her sisters. "Papá tiene cáncer. Del mismo tipo que tuvo la abuela. He wanted me to keep it a secret but I told him I could no longer do that given how progressive it has gotten. They are giving him until the end of the year." She expected some yelling and screaming for her sisters. Honestly she didn't blame them if that is what happened because she had kept this secret for a long time now. // @rip0penscars & @valeria-lopez
//translation: Dad, has cancer. The kind that got grandma.
"How are we supposed to handle that?" Liliana let out a heavy sigh and just sat there for a moment. "How long have you actually known, Gabriella?" she finally asked, not looking at her. She was looking at Val now, raising a brow. "Until the end of the year is all we have left with him..." Like it hadn't sank in quite yet until the words left her own mouth.. "I know he didn't want you to tell, but for some reason I wish you'd told us sooner." Now she was looking at Gabriella. "Maybe we should all pay him a visit..."

starter for @rip0penscars (Cemal and Nicodemus)
Cemal was someone who really was a closed book, a sealed book he refused to let people read at all. There were only a few people in the world that he allowed himself get close to and that was Nicodemus. With Nico he had not planned it at all, it just happened. The male in a way had broken some of his walls. He had decided to take Nicodemus to a ranch where he kept his horse. Not many people knew that Cemal rode.
They had stopped on the side of the road to take a break, he smiled as he held the others hand. "That was such a dad joke," he teased with a grin on his face.
Nicodemus had never meant to get involved in anything at the time - he'd been focused on his career and his kids. Meeting Cemal took him completely off guard (in the best way possible) and the way he so easily seemed to slip into routine and comfort with this man truly shocked him. Though he would never change a thing. Cemal had brought something into his life he'd been missing for a long time and made him feel like he could be himself around him. Like he could relax and not have to worry around him.
A small laugh escaped him as he looked over at him, squeezing his hand gently before bringing it up to kiss the back of it before lowering their hands again. "What can I say? I'm full of them." He shook his head with a small grin now.
"Oh, I most certainly came to eat your food and that is it." Evren chuckled lightly, moving over to her now. "Kidding, kidding. Maybe it was a bit of both." He teased with a small grin on his lips now. "Well I was headed home but I think I might have a better offer here." He pointed out. "What about you? Do you have to go back in? Or are you done for the night?"
"Came to eat my food, and that's definitely it." She huffed playfully with a small grin. "Biggest lie I've heard all day." Ceren shrugged with a small smile on her lips now. "Definitely has to be both." Shrugging her shoulders once again she tilted her head to the side to look at him, then lifted it again. "I'm done for the day. I was gonna take a break and then add another hour to my shift, but I figured I might as well be done for the day, kind of only sorted it out in my head about five minutes ago." A soft chuckle before she spoke again. "You can come with me to the park." She knew it was a bit of a strange thing for an adult to say, but the park was peaceful this time of day, and she liked swinging on the swings and just existing sometimes.

kemal had shown up at ceran's without warning , which in itself said more than he probably intended , he hadn't seen her , since his engagement announcement ------ he sat across from her with his sleeves rolled up , his tie discarded somewhere behind him , staring at the drink in his hand like it had personally offended him . ❝ don't look at me like that . ❞ he muttered , catching the expression he knew far too well . ❝ i know . i'm being dramatic . ❞ a quiet laugh escaped him , though it held no real amusement . ❝ but tell me , ceran . . . when did my life become one long list of things i have to do for everyone else ? the business . my family . this marriage . ❞ he finally looked at her , his expression tired in a way he would never allow anyone else to see . ❝ &. don't give me that look . you're the one person i'm actually asking to be honest with me . ❞
Ceren had never minded when Kemal showed up- though, usually she got a heads up beforehand, either way it was all the same - she welcomed him as always. He was a good friend and she appreciated his company. Ceren hadn't expected to see him so soon to be fair. Though this was a little unexpected, she knew something was up. Having not seen him since the engagement party she figured she'd not see him again for at least a while more. Not that she wanted rid of him or anything. Never.
"Like what?" Ceren asked, letting out a soft sigh before unfolding her arms and letting herself relax a bit more as she looked at him. Though she knew what look he was referring to. Which sometimes was hard not to give when it happened almost automatically from time to time. "Okay, okay. I will stop." she said as a soft almost sad, smile crept across her lips. "It became that way, when you started letting it be that way. You're one of the sweetest and kindest humans, I have met.... and once in a while you seem to let everyone and everything run over you and you do all you can to make everyone else happy." Which she knew she wasn't exactly wrong. "I'm sorry if it isn't the truth you want to hear, but it is what happens."
Emmie📱August
Emmie: Hey. Emmie: [delayed...] I drank 2 fingers of scotch before I could send that😅 Emmie: ANYWAY! I've got a wild hair to put on a musical. Would you want to be the producer on it? @rip0penscars
August: Hey... August: [waiting for what seems like a long time] August: Why did it take you drinking scotch to send that? August: But either way! I'd love to help! Come on over to my place, and bring your plans, bright eyes.

Jackson: Hey, I have a job for you if you want. Jackson: I want you to come and work at Turtle Bar. Jackson: I don't have a manager and I need one. // @rip0penscars
Orion: Hey!
Orion: really?
Orion: I am definitely down for that. When can I start?
Savannah was at the park, trying to get inspiration for an inside playground that a potential client was looking to have done. Each playground in the city had it's own flare so she was hoping making a visit would help her. "Hi, Journey, not in the way at all. I do have a question for you though. If you could have one thing from the park here in an indoor playground, what would it be and why?"
A small smile crossed her lips as she heard the question. "Ooh, for an indoor playground?" Jersey pondered for a moment as she looked around and then back to her. "I think maybe that slide right there, and the bridge here - " She pointed at them, and then nodded. "Yes, I think those two things, because that slide is perfect - it's sturdy, isn't going to break with one or two jumps or plops even from adults.... The bridge because it's padded enough that it's safe for all ages, and if a child falls on it, the worst that's going to happen is that they're going to squeal an ouch or two and then get back up and go back to running across it. It's also got the perfect amount of bars to keep it steady for anyone.... and some other reasons too, and I know you said one thing, but both things are good." She shrugged and smiled over at her. "Someone thinking of building one inside?"
Emmie sat on a picnic table near the dunk tank. She wanted to be able to watch the other members of the Sanders crew experience the icy water at the hands of someone else, more than ready to jump up and go running over to push back the target herself. At least one of her nephews had done it to her. The blonde saw August's face in the crowd walking around. "Hey!" She called, hopping off the table and walking towards her with a smile. "I wanted to let you know that the bouquets were a hit. Thank you."
August heard her easily. A small genuine smile crossed her lips when Emmie called for her and told her that the bouquets were a hit! She was ecstatic about it. "I'm so happy they were! You did an amazing job at it." August commented with a nod. "I told you they were beautiful." August tilted her head to the side to look at her with a knowing look before looking around and then back at her. "You having fun around here?"

Who: Ava McPhearson & --- ??
The Where: The Carnival.
"Are you looking for this?" Ava asked as she leaned against the side of a booth. Holding up the person's water bottle, as she held it out she half smiled. "I thought I saw you leave this, but I wasn't sure until I saw you looking around for it." Ava shrugged her shoulders and handed it over. "Do you like carnivals? or are you just here because someone asked you to be?" she was here alone, and she knew quite a few of the people, and she had sworn she knew this person as well, but couldn't quite place why or how. "Oh!" She said with a small smack to her forehead. "I'm Ava, by the way! Do I know you from somewhere?"
// @ofwildxhearts
the who: Alyza Evans & Robin Kennedy.
the where: the carnival.
They'd talked a few times since that day that Robin had come into her ice cream shop. Alyza had gotten her number so they could talk. Yes, the woman happened to be around the same age as her twins, but she liked being around her and liked talking to her. Why couldn't they at least be friends?
The older blonde had called to ask Robin to meet her at the carnival that night, unsure if she'd want to go anyways, but she hoped she'd be there. Told her where to meet and everything.
Alyza had gone to play one of the games on her own before Robin had even gotten there - she had gone to play one of her favorite games; The duck game. Somehow Alyza was usually always good at it. She'd always been good at picking the best ducks to win the best prizes, it was one reason her twins usually kept her from games like that unless they really wanted a prize with no effort from themselves.
Spotting her from across the way, Alyza let herself smile and made her way over to her. Popping up behind her and putting a hand out in front of her to hold up a big stuffed animal that she had won for her. "Got you something..." she said softly.
"Me too. Because there is something that I do need to tell you." Victoria stated, looking over at him for a moment. Nodding her head a little bit. "As long as it's my favorite. We can totally do that." She teased lightly, with a small smile on her lips. Noticing that it was her favorite, she couldn't help but smile more. "Let's do it." She took the bowl from him. "Lead the way."
Kyle couldn't help but smile at her. "A good something, I'm hoping?" he asked, nodding his head towards the back door. "Of course it's your favorite, you know I keep it around just because it's you're favorite, darling." He lead her to the back door - opening it for her and letting her out first before he himself walked out and set down the ice cream before closing the door as well. Looking over at her as he sat down, Kyle just smiled for a moment. "You are amazing." It may have been out of the blue, but he wasn't wrong. She was amazing to him.

The Whom: Cameron & Lennox
Where: Their Home
Cameron slipped off his jacket and hung it up. A small sigh escaping his lips as this. It had been a long day completely. But somehow he pushed through it. "Nox?!" He called out, hoping that they were home. Moving into the kitchen, that was when he seen them. "Please tell me that we are either getting take out or that you have already started making something? Because it's been one hellva a night."
Lennox was in the kitchen in the middle of actually making fettuccini alfredo and mashed potatoes, with vegetables. "Lucky for you, dear twin. I am definitely making food already." They were most of the way through with the dinner for them and their brother, actually. "Was it rough?" They asked, looking over their shoulder at him. "You want to talk about it?"

The Whom: Andrew Callahan & August Riley
Where: Downtown Diner
Lunch was a busy time, Andy knew that. But he still liked coming here for lunchtime. Plus it was his day off, after he ordered his food, he was looking up the New York news on his phone. Honestly he checked it almost every day. Just to make sure that no one still knew he was alive. Feeling someone next to him, he glanced up and seen her. "Can I help you? Or do you need a seat? Because you are welcome to join me."
August wasn't entirely sure what she wanted to eat. She just knew she was hungry and that the Downtown Diner had some really good food. She'd been there what felt like a hundred times since arriving in town. The woman was trying to mind her own business. Looking now over at him, August gave a small nervous smile. "Honestly, sitting would be good. Thank you." She nodded towards him as she sat down across from him with a smile. "I was trying not to disturb anyone, but here we are. How are you today?"
