Just back from Laver Cup, and am unexpectedly okay with how it went! I think for it to keep going in the long-term it did need to stop being so one-sided for Team Europe....and Team World always had a good chance to win going into this one. It was amazing to have the Big 4 together on one team for Roger's send-off, but most of them were not coming into this in anywhere near peak condition.

Plus, I liked this version of Team World (so nice to see Felix and Diego happy in particular). And John McEnroe finally gets to win it once before they switch (?) captains?

Finally, while falling on the ground seems to have turned into everyone's go-to celebration for winning the Laver Cup, a quick reminder that this was the original -- and thus still the most traditional -- way to celebrate:

I've been at Laver Cup the past couple of days and while my seat does face the players' benches I also have a terrible phone camera. So all the photos I take from a distance end up looking something like this:

If I zoom in and only crop Team Europe, though, it kind of has a painting effect...?

This same room shows up all the time in backstage videos of Laver Cup, and normally there isn't a massage table right there...

So I'm imagining them having to drag this table over because otherwise Roger might have to stop talking to Rafa for a whole 10 minutes and clearly he was not capable of that. 😂

The moment Rafa and Roger registered each other...

Looking at the video closely, it seems like he was all smiles still after hugging Sascha? And then he makes eye contact with Rafa and that's when he starts tearing up. So incredibly endearing, if that's the case.
