In this occassion im gonna asses myself on creativity based on the theory and facts of creative things that i have done.
so the first question will be
the thing i want to highlight is “new associations of the creative mind between existing ideas or concepts.” because.
philosophers friedrich nietzsche also said something connected to creativity that original ideas or minds comes from old ideas and make new associations from it to produce new ideas.
i realize im a creative person since im a left handed person. study have shown that brain divided into two parts the right and left. and those parts control the opposite parts of the body. im a left handed man, so i use a lot my right side of brain. study also have shown that right side of brain control emotional, creativity, and imagination activities. while the left side of brain control logic, mathematical, and langguage activities.
that theories applicated on my daily activities. i easily make solutions for everyday problems and what makes me fast to understand all kind of school subject materials. i dont have a genius IQ, but i could be quite same like those who have by understand something from different point of view. after viewing from another point, i add more reference and make associations related to the topic to enhance my understanding.
i remembered a great work that i have done when i was in the 4th grade. the teacher told the students that we have to make a product, even it is useful or only form of art, made from waste products. i made what i think a masterpiece because none of my friends were able to make useful and great association skills like mine. not meaning to be cocky but im proud that a 4th grader able to think like that.
i made a portable mini fan
using the blade from the broken one, a ballpoint and a broken robot toy with still functioning dynamo and batteries inside it.
what i did is i detached the blade from the broken portable mini fan. attached it to the pointy side of the inner ballpoint. and then i attached the backside of the ballpoint to the rotor. the dynamo has already attached to the body of the robot with batteries inside it. voila! a new portable mini fan functioned well like a new one.
another project i considered as creative is when i was in my first year of college. it was an assignment to make a live performance show on performance art class. the purpose of this class is to enhance confident and creativity skills of the student. in this show i was being the director. the class asked to make a 30 minutes live show from the given themes from the teacher. we chose 7 themes out of 10 themes given from the teacher. the themes we chose were traditional dance - demonstration - cowboy - local ghost - street fighter - Michael Jackson - local ghost. we have to make an association between those themes and it must be a logic association. so we rearrange the sequence to traditional dance - street fighter - demonstration - cowboy - local ghost - Michael Jackson. the show can be seen from my documentation.
the teacher said our class had the most logic association between scene. i think its very creative since we can associate random things into a beautiful and logic state of art.
creativity is very important to business activities. starting from daily basis activities up to company strategic planning. creativity also the heart of every business. a great business propose a unique value to its customer. and those value can only obtained if the owner and the team have creative thinking skills. what i mean about “creative” doesnt have to be great design of posters, advertising, and other marketing media. there have been a misconception between new business people about creativity. even in a big industrial manufacturing business still needs creative thinking. business meets problem everyday and it needs creative thinking in order to solve it effectively. its like the algorithm finding solution in life.
