Bro, I keep seeing people with Mr. Ring-a-Ding plushies and it makes me SO JEALOUS UGH. I’m like legit so broke it isn’t even funny, and all I wanna do is just commission one of those custom plush making companies to make me a massive Mr. Ring-a-Ding ☹️

Like I already have the company’s info saved, but it’s like $150 for this decently sized plush…

“oh why don’t you sew one?” Man… last time I sewed a plush it looked so ugly.

If anyone knows quick ways to make $150 that’d be great. Because my commissions/small business is NOT working clearly /silly /hj

This is just me being petty, but man, I’ll never forget how some people switched up on Mr. Ring-a-Ding SOOO fast.

For Context: I posted about him WAYY back when in December when the teaser dropped, most likely the first tiktok talking about him directly.

Any who, while some people were hyped, majority said “Disney was ruining Doctor Who” and “How ugly he was”.

But coincidentally, the second it was revealed Alan was gonna be his voice, some of those comments vanished, or others who didn’t delete their comments now made videos or new comments talking about “how great he was”

…

Like, not you acting like you didn’t just say it was awful- 😒

It’s also just so funny to me how a voice changed so many people from “this is trash” to “omg my hear me out”

Anyways, I’m a day one Ring-a-Ding fan and defender til the day I die.

We are currently doing a test print of his head. Look at him in all his assimilating glory!!

AUTISM MR RING-A-DING RANT.. PART 1..?

(Saying “part 1” because I know damn well this is probably gonna be multiple parts)

Anyways, lets start from the beginning…

Mr. Ring-a-Ding is an ironic character, ever since his conception. Think about it. You were never supposed to know what Mr. Ring-a-Ding is. Ever since RTD first came up with the idea of him, he wanted him to be a mixture of things (almost like the Animaniacs). We will never truly know what he is meant to be. “ Okay, but what’s ironic about this?” You might be asking. Well, he quite literally calls himself “A two-dimensional character.” Yes, because he is literally 2D, but also because a two-dimensional character is one that lacks complexity. And yet, being a mixture of things is the most complex thing you can be! That’s how his existence is ironic.

I also theorize that he was intentionally made to be charming, not sinister (in reference to the “charming or sinister” add for the episode). Now, this is much more speculation than a fact, but stick with me here. Framestore staff claimed they tried to make him terrifying, but didn’t want to make it too scary. (Probably to make it so he can still he seen as charming in some ways). The scene where he bats his eyelashes while watching Reginald and his wife while sighing? You wouldn’t portray a villain in such a light if you wanted them to seem scary. Also the fact he is voiced by Alan Cumming!! (Studios don’t just willy nilly pick voice actors, they always have something in mind). The only time he remotely comes off as “sinister” is when he becomes real (which even then some of you guys will debate because y’all love him even in 3D). But this is all just a theory! Nothing confirmed or canon.

Also, Lux is such a nice god compared to the other gods of the pantheon. Yes, I know I have talked about him as a god before, but I’ll go more in detail here (shocker). Lux didn’t actually kill anyone. He just trapped them in film. The only casualty that he would’ve caused was The Doctor’s (but even then he did it out of envy, not just straight “i wanna cause chaos cuz I can” that the other gods have done). He also quite literally let Reginald see his wife nightly? Hello?? Like, I don’t care what anyone says. Lux is one of, if not THE nicest “evil” god we have seen. And I will die by that statement.

And I’m not even joking. If literally ANYONE expressed interest in a paper or video essay about Mr. Ring-a-Ding and Lux, I’d fully commit to it… I don’t know if that says anything about me as a person though LMAO
