Hi! Call me River (any pronouns, adult)! I, uh, like Obey Me, maybe a little too much.
I do a little bit of everything writing-wise, from playlist posts and crackposts, to headcanons and drabbles!
Some important things I think you should know before following me:
This blog is a safe place for any other adult fans of Obey Me, regardless of race, gender identity, sexuality, or religion. I wouldn't feel comfortable with kids following me (and also OM is kind of not a game for kids anyways?), regardless of the content I make.
This blog is not open to pedoph*les, homoph*bes, rac*sts, transph*bes, sex*sts, aceph*bes, and the like. As a mixed, grey-ace transgender person, I just don't want people like that interacting with me, or with my followers.
You can check if requests are open below! I will always try to tag any potential triggers, but if you need something tagged please let me know through DMs or my askbox and I will be happy to tag it for you. I want this to be a comfortable space for everyone!
I generally write MC as gender neutral to be inclusive to as many people as possible. I really love that OM uses they/them for MC, it's one of the few otome games I've seen that goes out of its way to be more accessible to more than just people who use she/her.
I will not write scenarios involving r*pe, straight up NSF/T (though suggestive content may happen, and will be tagged), yandere content. I just don't feel comfortable writing things involving these topics, and there are plenty of other great blogs out there willing to fulfil those kinds of requests! Also, I won't be writing ANYTHING romantic with Luke, full stop (he is 12 and you can't change my mind on that).
Currently on Lesson 41!

i have summoned 92 times on the current banner and i'm out of money and points and vouchers and NOW after playing this game for six months i FINALLY understand why they call it NIGHTMARE.
OKAY HOLD ON everything else must go on hold actually
I have the absolute most WILD theory about Solomon that I cannot wait to share with you guys!! It's going to take a LOT of formatting though, because the proof for it spans across the entirety of the game, especially stuff from arcs two and three (which, naturally, means it will be rife with spoilers for late game stuff)
I'm gonna be compiling info for that for a while but I really am fully behind this theory, the more I read about him in events and in the main storyline the more I'm convinced...
Thinking about possibly doing another song for one of the boys' playlists and I'm kinda leaning Belphie, but the playlist I have set up for him so far gives me SO much whiplash that it's hard to choose
For Example:
Fly Me To The Moon, Frank Sinatra
I Hear A Symphony, Cody Fry
Caught Like A Fly, Falling In Reverse
If I Believed, Twisted
Choke, IDKHOW
Wolf in Sheep's Clothing, Set It Off
Summertime, Maggie + Nyan + Brilliant Music
Do you see my problem here, this boy has two moods, sleepy cuddle time and BITE YOU BITE YOU BITE YOU ONE MILLION TIMES
I honestly don't know if I would have ever connected this song to Leviathan if it wasn't for @jaeheewillalwaysbemyfav's absolutely incredible TMAxOM crossover. Pairing Leviathan with the Lonely not only emotionally scarred me and made me want to hug my poor fishie friend until the end of time, but also really made the brainworms dance, which is honestly the best scenario that could have come out of reading such a well-written, heartbreaking passage. So thank you so very much, Winter, for the inspiration! ♥
Lyrics and explanation below the cut!
You can fit everything you know
In a bottle for you to show
Pick your brain apart and put it in (pick your brain apart)
And build it again with needles and pins
Everything you have earned is a ship
With blue waves crashing into it
But nothing can touch your happy thoughts anymore
With your glass ceiling, walls, and floor
Immediately we start out with something that honestly just feels textbook Leviathan. Taking the pieces of yourself and placing them in something that's fragile, but feels safe. Keeping himself 'safe' behind the glass of a screen, surrounded by the glass of his aquarium... He protects himself within a prison of his own creation, but in doing so also isolates himself, the glass between him and his brothers, him and the rest of the world, thick and seemingly impassable.
Sailing on a ship in a bottle
Anchor all your thoughts to the bottom
Pulling ropes and pulling your head back
To see what is breaking the foremast
You set sail alone, there is no crew
No one on the deck who can help you
This is all your own battle to win
This is your ship, and you are the captain
This is where the first little tug of recognition came in. You'd think this would be the moment that everything clicked, but that came a little bit later, actually, during the second pre-chorus! Regardless, this is Leviathan considering himself as alone, fighting a singular battle against those who look down upon him.
Oh, captain, let's make a deal
Where we both say the things that we both really feel
I feel scared and I'm starting to sink
And I only sink deeper the deeper I think
This is Levi addressing himself, his own battle within. Addressing the former version of himself, the version he thinks he'll never really be able to touch again. Admiral Leviathan, the head of Hell's Navy, a commanding presence, confident, strong, unquestionable. Now who has he become? A scared, weak little otaku, lost in the waters of his own mind and starting to drown in his own fears and insecurities.
There are red spots under your eyes
From when you cry into the sky
Ocean waters rising above your neck
You feel the glass start to crack
Sailing on a ship in a bottle
Water's leaking through holes in the bottom
Flying flags of ships that have long since
Sat at the floor of the sea, but in defense
You set sail alone, there is no crew
No one on the deck who can help you
This is all your own battle to win
This is your ship and you are the captain
This was the moment the connection was made. If you haven't gone to read that drabble from Winter that I linked above, do so now, because this is where spoilers for that come in! Something about the visual of 'ships that have long since sat at the floor of the sea' put the vision into my head of Levi sailing off into a vast sea of fog, disappearing into waters that no one has ever returned from, eyes empty and aimless. Even within his 'untouchable' glass bottle, the water is rising and threatening to overtake him, and at this point his mind is so clouded by his own doubts that there's nothing he can do to stop it, and he's not sure if he even wants to.
Oh, captain, let's make a deal
Where we both say the things that we both really feel
I feel scared and I'm starting to sink
And I only sink deeper the deeper I think
Oh, captain, make up your mind
Before the salt burns your eyes and you run out of time
'cause you're popping the cork, you get lost in your brain
And you lose touch with all the things that made you feel sane
This segment also echoes what I've said in previous passages, as well it should, being the chorus, but the addition of 'you get lost in your brain and you lose touch with all the things that made you feel sane' really drives home that Lonely narrative. Regardless of whether you subscribe to the dots I've connected between the drabble and canon, Levi has completely lost the person he used to be either way. He's lost so much credibility due to his (relatively, as far as demon time goes) new obsessions, he's lost his strength and confidence and bravery due to his hikikomori lifestyle, to the point where it's difficult to call him even a shadow of his former self.

Thanks so much for reading! A huge thank you once again to Winter for the inspiration that brought this post into being. If you're not already following them, you should! Their headcanon posts were one of my biggest inspirations for wanting to create a blog of my own. ♥

I'm floored!! This song slaps and your analysis is so on point!!!!
I can't even form words like ⋛⋋( ‘◇’)⋌⋚ ⋛⋋( ‘◇’)⋌⋚ ⋛⋋( ‘◇’)⋌⋚
A.... I'm so glad that you enjoyed it!! I think the funniest thing about this is that I'm the anon who wrote in saying 'i don't even go here but' (and i still don't, too spoopy for my blood but i read EVERY TMAxOM crossover outside of Asmo's because that was A Bit Too Much for my personal triggers), so, the fact that my analysis was STILL on point is a testament to how well you portrayed TMA within your drabbles!! Thank you so much for such high praise I'm so touched ;u;
And I'm glad that I helped your day get a little better!! That means the world to me, I'm glad to make you smile! Thanks for inspiring me to write this out and also for being one of the inspirations for this blog in the first place ♥
I’ve spent almost my entire weekend working on a simple floor plan for the House of Lamentation. I was trying to write some dumb fanficiton, realized that I had absolutely nothing concrete to anchor these characters to, and that was a problem for me.
Internet searches left me empty-handed. I found a lot of impressive Sim houses, but they didn’t really give me what I was looking for. So, I came to conclusion that I was going to have to make my own.
There are a lot of small, often contradictory details about the HOL that made this a pretty daunting task at first. Then I just said fuck it and rolled with the punches. I took my liberties to make something that worked for me - and hopefully, it can work for you, too!
I like to imagine that my MC self actually did take time to create a map like this for her own benefit - and to the benefit of anyone else who might need it. (Potential spoilers ahead + map is not to scale)
AN OVERVIEW:
I took the time to scan my original drawings and upload them in a way that’s easier to read, (hopefully). From here, I’ll start from the Underground Tomb, and work my way up. The individual levels can be found under the cut:
Reasons Why Lucifer Sounds So Damn Tired in It's My Party (a non-exhaustive list)
There have been fourteen attempted takes of this song already and they've been here for hours and dear Diavolo he just wants to go home.
Mammon has disappeared no less than three times. One of those times was because he was sneaking around the studio looking for good stuff to steal. The other two times, he disappeared into thin air after being summoned by witches. Regardless of reason you can be sure he'll be strung up once they return home.
Levi's phone has been confiscated. He's been playing Devil Run Kingdom when he's not singing and the tapping of his thumbs on the screen are getting picked up by the mic and he refused to put the game down and now he's simmering.
Satan, similarly, keeps watching cat videos between takes (at full volume, no less, devil save us). Then he forgets to put his phone on silent again when they go to try another take, and one of his many, many connections messages him and his phone goes off on mic... this has happened five times.
Asmodeus keeps flirting with the sound techs. A couple of them have disappeared with him for an hour at a time...
Beel has taken eighteen breaks for food. Yes, eighteen, even though there have been fourteen takes. Sometimes he just leaves in the middle of a take. Sometimes he brings food in with him. There are crumbs everywhere.
Belphegor has fallen asleep six times and missed his cue. Every time Lucifer has to wake him up, Belphie bites him.
Diavolo made the mistake of peeking his head in to see 'how things are going' once... and only once. He's fairly sure the look on Lucifer's face will haunt his nightmares for the next week.
I honestly don't know if I would have ever connected this song to Leviathan if it wasn't for @jaeheewillalwaysbemyfav's absolutely incredible TMAxOM crossover.
