“I was literally Marty McFly for Halloween, so you’re in good company.” Zane points out, laughing quietly. “What’re we watching first? I mean, obviously I’m a fan of Back to the Future, but I love pretty much every movie in that stack,.”

“fuck,, seriously? i’ve got to step up my game.” river grinned, shaking his head. “honestly, let’s go for it. we could even have a marathon if you want.” he chuckled, shaking his head once again. “when i was a kid, i always wanted mcfly’s shoes.”

Obviously, you’re tired and you’re seeing things that aren’t there.” Alwyn teased, mirroring the grin that was visible on his roommate’s visage. “You couldn’t fall back to sleep? You? Okay, these are definitely signs that the world is coming to an end today. Well, Riv. It was nice knowing you and all.”

“i mean, the dude downtown did say the world was ending. i just didn’t assume he’d be right. it’s been nice knowing you too..” river grinned, shaking his head a bit. “damn, just when i thought my life was starting too.” he teased.

She didn’t mind that he hasn’t finished yet, she kind of assumed it would be this way as soon as he told her they were going to go eat. Ivy wasn’t deprived of food– she just appreciated a good meal. “If that impresses you, you should see me at a barbecue.” Ivy laughed, leaning back into her seat. “Are you kidding? I love the oldies. I have my own playlist with music from the 50′s up until the 80′s. Wherever we go next, you better be blasting that the entire time.”

river chuckled softly. “god, barbecues are the literal best. hey, the fire department always does one right before the summer ends. i’ll invite you when we figure out when it is.” he grinned, shrugging his shoulders. river slowly finished his meal, grabbing his milkshake. he started to finish it and let out a soft laugh. “oh yeah? we’ll have to listen to yours next time then. did you want anything else?”

It didn’t even seem like five whole minutes passed before she had already downed half of her shake and half of her pancakes. It was just too good and it had been way too long since she’s had a good meal. “I think I’m going to have to follow in your footsteps. You can’t be sad when you’re sipping on a milkshake this…heavenly.” Ivy commented as she practically finished her milkshake, looking over at him with a bashful smile as she realized she had already finished everything. “Did I already mention I was starving before we came here?”

river was a man of many things, multitasking was definitely one of them. when it came to food, however, the male couldnt multitask. he was a slow eater. after getting through a little over half of his food, he glanced up, laughing softly at the other’s bashful smile. “hey, no judgement here. i’m quite impressed.” river grinned before taking another big bite of his pancakes. he was really enjoying his night out with the other and it had only just started, they had a whole night ahead of them. he knew ivy was interesting and he wanted to get to know her.  she was a talented girl who kept on surprising him. “hey, i’ll have to show you my car playlist sometime!” he nodded. “i mean, if you like the oldies.” he laughed.

Alwyn ran a hand through his fiery red locks and his lips swiftly stretched into a thin smile. “I’m not… I’m not jumpy?” He denied, rather unconvincingly. “I just didn’t hear you, that’s all.” Throwing a look of faux reassurance towards the other male, the ginger tried his utmost to look and to sound as nonchalant as possible, but knowing he had just been betrayed by the shaky words that had fallen out of his mouth, he figured he would try and divert the topic of conversation on to something else instead. “Wow. Look at you. Actually up on time. Doesn’t the universe implode or something when that happens?”

“you were definitely jumpy.” river chuckled softly, shaking his head. “oh, why thank you. i’ve been practicing walking quietly for once.” he joked, grin on his lips. the male rolled his eyes, chuckling softly. “im not always late. everyone else is just early... or maybe i woke up and just couldnt fall back to sleep like i always do.”

Ivy laughed right as she was taking a pretty big bite out of her pancake. She tried her best not to seem like too much of a neanderthal in front of him. There was a bigger part of her that didn’t really care. Ivy was as comfortable as she could be with River for their first time hanging out. “Food should be everyone’s first love. She really gets around, doesn’t she?” Ivy looked up at him with a raised brow. Finally tasting the milkshake he raved about, the smile on her face only grew wider. “Shit. You weren’t kidding about how good these are. I feel like any other place I’ve ordered a shake at is garbage in comparison. I feel like I’ve lived now.”

the male laughed softly, shaking his head. “she really does. no shame.” he laughed, shaking his head. river dug into his pancakes, taking a couple bites as the girl tried the milkshake. he grinned, a laugh spilling from his lips. “i told you. you’ve been born again.” he teased. “sometimes after long shifts when i really need a pick me up, i grab a milkshake from here. honestly, can change anyone’s mood for the better.” he nodded.

The redhead stumbled out of the bathroom, seemingly in some sort of a frenzy. He had initially went in to take his morning shower, however, his plans quickly headed south when he was greeted by a ‘not so friendly’, little spider instead. Everything about arachnids gave him the heebie-jeebies. The way they looked… the way they walked… just absolutely everything, so, when it came to getting the hell out of there, he did so without hesitation, even despite the insect’s relatively small size. river was usually late in the mornings, but for some reason today, he woke up on time. the male hummed, taking his time as he walked down the hallway. he stopped when his roommate stepped out of the bathroom. he couldnt help the small laugh that slipped past the other’s lips as he jumped. “i didn’t think i looked that scary in the morning.” he joked. “why’re you so jumpy?”
