Thanksgiving and My Birthday

My “lucky” thirteenth birthday happened to fall in the same week as Thanksgiving this year. It wasn’t much of an inconvenience because, after all, my family has yet to really nosedive into the more “American” holidays. We did have a special dinner, but mostly to celebrate my birthday. There was some turkey and lots of pies and a cake. 

My older sis, Nehara, was on holiday vacation from university and she came by to visit. She said she misses all of us very much. She’s only just left for school. We all went to drop her off at uni in San Francisco this last June. It was a fun week there. I hope we can go back there soon to visit. 

For my birthday she brought me back a present. She knew I had been accepted to a new charter school that opened up in our area and had just started. So she brought for me a new backpack to celebrate me starting a new school and as my birthday present. ^_^ Here it is:

It’s beautiful, I love it. So unique. It’s roomy too, plenty of space for my school binder and pencil case. I can’t wait to take it to school tomorrow!
